How Police Locked Me In Underground Cell, Demanded N10million – Oil Worker Labelled As IPOB, ESN Fighter Casmir Ibegbulem, an oil worker who was arrested and detained by the Imo State Police Command, after a raid for unknown gunmen, has narrated his ordeal in detention, saying the police locked him up in an underground cell and demanded N10 million as his bail. Ibegbulem, who was labelled and paraded as an Eastern Security Network (ESN) gunman and member of the Indigenous People of Biafra, did audio after his release, narrating how the army waylaid him, transferred him to the police who then brought all of them to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where they were locked up in an underground cell. SaharaReporters on June 3 reported that the 40-year-old oil worker and father of one, who was wrongly raided and paraded as one of the unknown gunmen, had been released after this newspaper reported about him and others. Ibegbulem is a “Permit Holder” staff of an oil company at Bonny Island in Bayelsa State and a native of Ogwa Community in Mbaitoli, Imo State. He had returned to Imo State for the burial of his in-law, which was to take place on May 28 but was arrested in Owerri on May 25 when he came to pick up some personal items needed for the burial. Police patrol personnel had pounced on him at gunpoint and arrested him. “He was paraded same evening alongside four others. Ibegbulem is married to Onyekachi who is seven months pregnant,” SaharaReporters had exposed in its report. In the audio he did after his release, Ibegbulem narrated his sordid ordeal in the hands of the police. He said, “With little or no investigation when they raided us, they tied me and others and drove straight to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Owerri. We were beaten and molested, with our phones off and no sort of communication to any loved ones. “Two days later, we were asked to enter a vehicle, and it was after we crossed Onitsha, that they told us we were being transferred to Abuja. Immediately we landed in Abuja, we were sent to an underground prison. “While there, I was scared and hopeless, hoping that a miracle would happen. Later the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) in charge of my file, summoned me and told me my case was a serious IPOB case, more like a kidnapping case. He asked me if my people could afford to pay N10 million as bail. I insisted I would not pay. “I was bargaining for N800,000. On the second afternoon, I was fortunate to come across my uncle – a military officer who came around to the police headquarters in Abuja. He was shocked because he wasn't expecting anybody, due to the lapse in communication. “That was how they worked out my bail. On the next day, I wrote a statement for the first time and I was granted bail.” A report by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, a civil society and research group, had detailed how the police and the army raided South-East residents and labelled them as IPOB (Indigenous People of Biafra) and ESN members. “In all these, we have received over 100 phone calls and messages from members of the public testifying in favour of the abducted and slain citizens named above. Intersociety hereby calls on the Nigeria Police Force and Nigerian Army to immediately and unconditionally release all the citizens arrested illegally. “We urge them to desist from the perpetration of frame-ups and trumped-up allegations or charges, abductions and disappearances, extrajudicial killings and other forms of genocidal operations going on in the South-East,” Intersociety had said. http://saharareporters.com/2021/06/14/how-police-locked-me-underground-cell-demanded-n10million-–-oil-worker-labelled-ipob-esn

Is not only in US, yesterday I'm surprised #june12 was trending No 1 here in my newly country. Don't ask me where because I won't. |
Monogamy:pls how old are you? A five yrs old will not asked such a question |
Uzi11enzo:The same thing I'm saying here. |
Princesaha:I respect your opinion but my take here is that people of South South should choose by themselves where they want to belong. He is making it as igbos wouldn't survive without SS why the people of South South keep on playing him like a toy. |
Kings999:Before you start abusing someone read first to understand. |
OmoOgunOriginal:Stopped bringing cooked up stories from Gowon/ Nigeria media. They can join Nigeria for all I care my take is of Biafra even if it have to be five state. So stop all this your old shit.. |
King3urna:seconded |
I'm very much in support of Biafra but I dislike Nnamdi kanu IPOB system. We igbos have suffered so much protecting our brothers in South South, everything we are suffering today in Nigeria is as a result of protecting our brothers in South South. The coup that was tag igbo coup that lead to massacre of Igbos was lead by our brothers from South South. The recent incidence happening now is as a result of Igbos supporting Goodluck who is from South South too. Now let be realistic does our brothers from South South take us the way we take them? The answer is no . We fought there fight, we stand with them anytime they are denied anything in Nigeria but when it come to reciprocate that love they will rather remain silent or backstab us. All the igbos of South East properties in porthacoaurt during the war was ceased by our brothers From River state. Today the same mistake is repeating itself. Not compulsory all igbos must be a Biafrans. There are Yoruba population in Benin, there are Fulani in Chad, Niger and some other Sahara countries. In South Africa there are ndebele also in Zimbabwe. Switzerland have France, German and Italians, the same in many other Countries of the world. Our own can't be different is time to let go of Igbos in South South they can choose to be Nigeria if they so wishes is not a must a refredum should conduct. They can speak for themselves, if they choose to be silent then we have no choice to go with the five South eastern state. Rwanda is as small as South East Nigeria, No access to sea. Border with Congo who have access to Oceans but many Congolese are taking refuge in Rwanda. Congolese with all there National resources are suffering, ravaging with uncertainty but go to Rwanda you may think you are in London. The same with Switzerland and Austria when compared with living standard of Belgium, France and Italy. A country not having access to sea don't neccessary make them poor. Someone should pls tell that man in London to stop sacrificing our able men and women for Biafra of South South and South East. If we can have a Biafra or Igbo nation of five South eastern Nigeria I certainly see nothing wrong with that. |
That man is useless is Abuja Fulani land, this is not 1967. Abuja is middle belt what right does he have to issued warning to igbos in Abuja. |
This is dictatorial, Buhari have no right to ban Twitter used by Nigerians. He have right to deal with Twitter personal not banning a platform used by all Nigeria we are in Democratic system of Government. |
If Nigeria truely want an atmosphere where security of life we be maintained and be accountable the Security review must be included in Constitutional amendment on going. In my opinion every Security in each state be it Army or police should be headed by Indigines of that state and should be elected base on his or her good record. That person should be nominated base on constituency by traditional heads and elected by the people of the state. The same goes to Security head of the Nigeria which must be nominated by region and will be elected by people. This person must be recalled when security is bad. Why do we have to review security arrangements? In Nigeria today we are more divided than before and all fingers pointed at those in Authorities for sponsoring insecurity going on in Nigeria and the same people impose or appoint Security head to us without any objection from the public. We have obligation as a citizen and indignies to play a role on who head the Security that protect us in Nigeria. The issue of Abuja appointing a security head in State has made many Governors incapacitated to carried any security challenges affecting his people if Abuja did not approved such move, even when is obvious his people see such incidence as a crime that should be treated asuch. Take the issue of killer herdsmen ban in Southern Nigeria but refuse to be approved by Abuja. Today they are still going there normal destroying business without no security arresting them. Some security men and women are religion extremist and this is one of the implication when such person or individual appointed a security head in a state where his or her religion is not present. The protection of life is beyound religion. Most of our young innocent men and women are killed by triggered happy men and women in Security uniform ( police&Army) and when a report of such incidence are made . The head of Security will covered it up simple because the Security man or woman who committed such crime is from the part of Country he come from. It need to stop any criminal have to be deal with wather security or civilians. There are alot of negative implications happening in Nigeria as a result of Security arrangements in this Country. Take look at Benue, Ebonyi, Borno and imo there Governors have cried helplessly to no avail. Our innocent citizens have being murdered without regard to the Authority. We need to stop this by holding any security head in our state responsible by electing him and able to recalled him when he is not performing as expected. Federal security should be in stand by to assist a state when insecurity is out of hand. This is my opinion and for interest of peace and justice in our security system should be included in ongoing constitutional review. |

In the North when police arrest bandits or Boko haram with AK47 they will be offered chair to seat down called media house to interview them but in the South they will remove your cloth if your lucky to be alive make you to either seat on the floor or standing police will be your media . Below are bandits arrested in the North compare to innocent people in South East .

Tweeting about the outrageous statement made by Buhari. while calling Buhari an empty vessel she said that V.P is a dictator and a green snake in a green grass.

linefyn:can you be able to fight IPOB without government . Coward this not 1967 when it start every Part of Nigeria will leave Fulani. |
Golan007:you can't used government institution to threaten its citizen. Buhari is a coward . |
Before now it was Biafra boy's and AGF made comparison of killer herdsmen ban with legitimate igbo spare parts owner and now is so call president calling for another genocide in South East Nigeria. It's clear there are igbophobia agenda going on in Buhari government. What has this man do about Boko Haram, Bandits kidnapping and killing of school children in the North?

Sit at home order total compliance is not because it was ordered by Nnamdi kanu but because igbo believe that our leaders in South East should have made compulsory for that day in honor of our dear brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers and children who lost there lives in 1967 civil war. Most of Family in igboland lost one or more relative and in Igbo culture and tradition we believe in giving the death a befitting rites. Two, igbos in general are fed up with the way Nigeria still marginalized them 51yrs after civil war ended the same inhuman and injustice still go on and on. An average igbo person see Independent as a way to end this injustice and marginalization of igbo in Nigeria, that is why you see total compliance this year in South East. The more injustice and marginalization against igbo the more people join in struggle for independence of igbo that is pure truth. Many igbos know that Nnamdi kanu is not that kind of leader they deserve but because he is the only one that talk openly about the oppressive and evil treatment against igbos in Nigeria and refused to buy out by Nigeria politician that is why people followed him. |

WE WILL NEVER FORGET . General Yakubu Gowon carried out the worst genocide in the history of Africa against the igbos of Nigeria. Till date he and his cohorts were never held accountable. . More Than 3.5 Million Biafrans Where Killed During Nigeria Genocide War On 7th Oct. 1966 Time Magazine wrote: "The massacre began at the airport near the Fifth Battalion’s home city of Kano. A Lagos-bound jet had just arrived from London, and as the Kano passengers were escorted into the customs shed a wild-eyed soldier stormed in, brandishing a rifle and demanding ‘Ina Nyamiri?’ – the Hausa for ‘Where are the damned Ibos?’. There were Ibos among the customs officers, and they dropped their chalk and fled, only to be shot down in the main terminal by other soldiers. Screaming the blood curses of a Moslem Holy War, the Hausa troops turned the airport into a shambles, bayonetting Ibo workers in the bar, gunning them down in the corridors, and hauling Ibo passengers off the plane to be lined up and shot. From the airport the troops fanned out through downtown Kano, hunting down Ibos in bars, hotels, and on the streets. One contingent drove their Landrovers to the railroad station where more than 100 Ibos were waiting for a train, and cut them down with automatic weapon fire. The soldiers did not have to do all the killing. They were soon joined by thousands of Hausa civilians, who rampaged through the city armed with stones, cutlasses, matchets, and home-made weapons of metal and broken glass. Crying ‘Heathen’ and ‘Allah’ the mobs and troops invaded the Sabon Gari (strangers’ quarter) ransacking, looting and burning Ibo homes and stores and murdering their owners. All night long and into the morning the massacre went on. Then, tired but fulfilled, the Hausas drifted back to their homes and barracks to get some breakfast and sleep. Municipal garbage trucks were sent out to collect the dead and dump them into mass graves outside the city. The death toll will never be known, but it was at least thirty thousand. Somehow several thousand Ibos survived the orgy, and all had the same thought: to get out of the North." - Time Magazine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q-3Id7Kdtc |

Igbo people are not endangered species, how can they go about arresting, killing innocent people all because of ESN/IPOB . How many innocent Northerners have they arrested because of Boko Haram or Bandits ravaging entire North. This is a clear sign of State sponsored terrorism and must stop henceforth or they should prepared to kill everyone of us. You go about in the church, Market, School arresting innocent people killing them and tagging them unknown Gunmen, police who supposed protecting people are now go about terrorising people. What should we called that if not state sponsored terrorising. |
