Pls, it is incumbent on us to correct an impression. A typical Onye-Igbo has self pride. Pls do not b hurt by it. It's innate. It's motivational for us & we often declare it to challenge ourselves to achieve much more than we or anyone had hoped for us.
It is different from what you THINK it is. When Ndi-Igbo meet and they make such declarations, we immediately identify with it. To us, it isn't a big deal. This is what keeps us going and it has been passed to us for generations.
