Congratulations, does the appointment letter require your spouse to visit ABH in person?
Yes, went to the ABH in person with lots of documents as requested in the appointment letter. The document list I believe is different from state to state

Visum alert, timeline below

Booked- Feb 8, 2022
Appointment - Feb 17, 2023
Interview - March 14, 2023
ABH sent appointment letter - April 21
ABH appointment- May 2
AM - May 4
Visum delivered today May 12

PS - spouse is a blue card holder and wasn’t required to do verification. Also, reaching out to the embassy helps a lot, via email, not phone cos the woman that picks the call can discourage you. For each of the milestones above, reached out to the embassy a day or two before

My spouse is a PHD student. Tho during the interview i was told not to pay but i insisted. Likewise i was told i dont need the A1 result but he collected the certificate since i have it already.
Congratulations! But why the 1 month+ break after ABH approval? You have any idea? Cos I think after the approval, embassy asks for passport few days or following week

interview was in Nov 2021, in Feb 2022 I had not heard from anyone then I sent a mail to the people in berlin/Frankfurt that will give you info about your status. So they said it was with my ABH. I then mailed them and I was directed to the person in charge of my case. We had a phone interview and he gave his approval.

In March lawyer went for verification after then dead silence.

July verification complete and then requested for more documents and then dead silence again.

So in March 2023 they asked for approval again.
Omooo! They didn’t collect verification fee from my spouse though (blue card)

Could you pls give me the details of those you contacted in Frankfurt/Berlin that provides the status

Many thanks

My first approval was in Feb 2022, it's over a year so they wanted to confirm new status, funny enough ABH didn't even ask for anything again ( maybe they just looked at my file) next thing the guy sent me a message that he has approved it .

I attached the mail and sent to embassy. Trust German embassy they didn't reply but AM came the next few days
Wawuu, thanks for your update. Could you pls confirm what happened since Feb 2022, that led to a second confirmation?

My ABH contact said she has received my spouse’s application via email and expecting it via post, once it arrives she will send an appointment for me to bring my documents

Send a mail to your foreign office. There seems to be a disconnect between Lagos and ABH. I waited 3months for my foreign office to give second approval.

I sent an email to the ABH and my mail was forwarded to the right person in charge of my case. Immediately everything was settled AM dropped days later
What do you mean by second approval please

I was asked to submit only my last 3 months pay slip because I am on a work visa. The approval was given within 1 week.
What is then the current situation with your spouse? Why did she have to submit A1 and verification when you’re on work visa or did I assume wrongly the work visa is not blue card?
TravelRe: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by dipotol: 7:20pm On Mar 29, 2023
How can someone know if application has left Lagos please? To know if they have sent it to foreign office?

Ahmed4002:
Important information!
The former fee for verification of documents of 150.0000 Naira will be increased from 15.03.2023 due to inflation, rising aviation costs and security concerns in Nigeria.

For verifications in locations within the following northern states, the fee will now be 250,000 Naira: FCT, Niger, Kwara, Kogi, Nassarawa, Benue, Taraba, Plateau, Adamawa, Gombe, Bauchi, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Yobe, Borno. This means when a person or institution located in one of these states has to be verified, the fee applies to this case.

For verifications in all other locations, the new fee will now be 180,000 Naira.

The implementation of the new fees of N180,000 and N250,000 Naira respectively will take effect from 15.03.2023. All appointments on or after 15.03.2023 are subject to the new fees.

We are also aware of the cash scarcity in Nigeria at this time. We are already working on a solution to offer non-cash payments but are not able to provide this option for now.

If you are unable to acquire your verification fees in cash by the time of your appointment, you can still submit your application and will be given more time to submit the fee at a later date. This only applies to the verification fee – not the visa fee. Visa fees have to be paid in cash at your appointment.

We only accept new Naira notes in 500 and 1.000 Naira bills. No other currencies.
Please does spouse of a blue card holder need to pay verification fee
TravelRe: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by dipotol: 8:16pm On Feb 20, 2023
Hello all, I like to ask the issue about verification fee. Is it to be paid by partner of a blue card holder as well? I have asked two people with blue card and someone’s partner paid the verification fee while the other person didn’t pay. There was no verification in both cases eventually. Any insight here pls

Also, is there anything like pre approval for family reunion?

Hello my nairaland fam. Been a very long time, I literally spared all day to read all the posts I've missed, about 15 to 20 pages. Lol

Don't mind me, I'm just concerned to know the present condition. I was initially sad it's still the same story but with the last 2 pages, ADs are flowing this May. Gut!

I pray God settles everyone. Let me firstly reinstate this fact someone earlier mentioned, let's be cautious of what we post here. I had an experience on my interview day(last year) and the embassy staff referenced this page. So, I'm sure of what I'm saying. My point? They know what's going on, they have always known but for reasons best known to them, AD na wahala.

For those of us trying other countries, I wish us well and I even need update of easy eu countries to process o, lol ( for my guys in naija tho). So, please anyone with useful info, kindly reach out.

Dont let us give up. Na who give up mess up. Germany is very cool and worth the struggle( once you enter, you would technically forget all these struggles, as I was readingthe thread today, na so I dy remember the struggles 2019/2020 but we thank God) The weather is getting more friendlier and I personally thank God for His favour I'm still enjoying. Let me use this opportunity to advise those going for interviews soon and those coming very soon not to come to DE with the mentality that " na Europe, we no need God again", hmmmm. Getting to Germany na big deal, settling in na another bigger deal. For without Him, we can do nothing...

I'm online at the moment to answer any questions or any clarification

One love bosses!

The problem is most people don't read the context well and quick to jump on anything that has to do with church. They recognised him for the leadership role he played while he was in the bible school and not as the vice president of the country. Don't you see all the verbs are past tense?

Hello everyone. It has been a while here, my apologies that I'm just coming back. Glory to God, I arrived deutchland last month. The struggle was real but God came through( I've shared my testimonies here on this thread).

This thread really helped me as there were so much information to digest when I came across it, I read hundreds of pages of this thread from beginning of part 7 and we created this part cool. More importantly than the first hand information I got here, I met with high intellects with common goal, most that we are now friens. I appreciate these two gifts from God. Thank you friends!

To all other aspirants looking forward to come to DE, please do not give up on the dream until you leave "that" country. It worths the struggle, I tell you.

My advice concerning the AD; As we all know that the delay started early last year and I can boldly say I experienced the traumatising experience, it wasn't easy! My case was quite peculiar, it's enough to get into depression. After months of waiting for AD, that I miraculously got one, it was cancelled due to pandemic and another wait of 6 months started again! I mean 6 solid months of waiting for embassy to reschedule us. God eventually came through with that and less than 24hours to my new AD, it was cancelled again due to endsars protest, I was already in the hotel at v.i when this happened, I nearly broke down but thank God to God's Words that I was able to hold unto to keep being strong. Eventually, I did my interview and the remaining fell in place.

Chaii, I wanted to advise oo, I am already saying story, lol.
Firstly, I want us to know that those people know what's going on. In fact, they know about this thread! I confirmed it on my interview date. All of our messages here, they see it. Also, school and embassy are two different entities, they do not work together. That's why schools can keep on giving admissions with no hope of AD. Also, I don't think they are doing it intentionally but I think they are just trying to cut down on the numbers from Nigeria. Hence, the introduction of several segregation factors (categories and all). Obviously, the pandemic worsened the situation.

Now, the question on everyone's lips, when are they going start giving out dates. I don't know and I don't think anyone here knows, even the workers there because that day, some security guys were asking me how I got AD and all, meaning it is almost impossible to runs it(naija way)... they released a memo that they are only attending to scholars for now and that's perfectly true, I know someone that won a scholarship October, he cancelled the initial CAT A application that has waited for months and called them that he just won a scholarship, he was asked to send proof and in 2 working days, they sent him AD. He got AM less than 2 weeks after his interview self.

So, in essence, if we can shoot for scholarships, it would help. And another suggestion I can give is try another schengen country, I know this is hard to accept but I'm advising based on the realities on ground. A friend I met on this thread started Poland applications last year in the midst of the waiting and he arrived Poland last week. In few months time now, he can get his PR and apply for Germany student visa from there while still.being a student of a German school with the privilege of online enrollment.

This thread really helped me and these cents I've come to throw to us is just part of giving back to the forum that has helped me. I wish everyone well and success in our endeavours. If you want to ask me any question, you can drop it here so we can discuss and others can benefit as well. Once again, do not give up until you leave "that" country.

One love
