So I had the UNION came to student affairs today to lock every where so that nobody will work at student affairs building but later this night I received a call that those NYSC people later came later in the evening to work ... so I can't assure you that they came to upload cos I was not there but looking at it from every indication I think it should be that they came to upload cos like I said earlier today they were done with typing of names as at yesterday... so what would you think they could have come to do if not to upload ... but whatever the case may be we shall get to know tomorrow . I hope you do understand... thanks

As for FUTA, as at yesterday evening I can confirm to you that 1000 names were already compiled because I was asked if I needed to make corrections concerning my names....So the names was suppose to be uploaded yesterday..... the list involve 2010 grads downward , though some 2016 grads were added to complete 1000 ( leg things)... but due to the information that was going round yesterday ... they decided not to upload anymore..


But for now I have 2 different information from 2 insiders.... the first person said they are going to upload today while the other person said she didn't know when they are going to upload .... but this second person was the one in charge of typing of the names cos I called her myself....

Guys let just hope today.. but I don't know if its going to 3100 names or 1000 .... thanks

The Committee of Vice-Chancellors (CVC) has urged universities to upload the names of all eligible graduates for the 2016 Batch `B’ of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

A statement by CVC on Tuesday in Abuja said that the committee’s stance was sequel to its meeting with the Director-General of NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Sule Kazaure.

The statement was co-signed by Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, CVC’s President and Prof. Michael Faborode, the committee’s Secretary-General.

NYSC had in a memo to universities recently, directed them to cut their mobilisation for the scheme by 60 per cent due to financial constraints.

The CVC said that the stakeholders agreed with NYSC that paucity of funds was responsible for the slash in the percentage of mobilisation.

It said that its meeting resolved “that all authentic graduates of universities be uploaded by universities for NYSC to mobilise as appropriate.

“All universities are expected to comply immediately and ensure that graduates of part-time programmes and over-aged graduates are not included in their list.

“The CVC and the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU) plead with the government and the National Assembly to provide resources needed for full mobilisation to stave off impending problem of partial mobilisation.

“We appeal to all graduates and prospective corps members to show understanding and exercise restraint while awaiting further directives from NYSC.’’

The statement said that the CVC meeting with NYSC authorities was preceded by one with the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission on the issue.

I think they are given 1000 .. so I don't think carry over will be up to that number .. so they will have to add part of 2016 . so if you know your way .... I hope you understand....

I really like the online protest the Nigerian Students are
having at the moment. Virtually everybody on the media
who's involved with the Nysc 2016 hassles have been
reacting to the 38% quota that was given to institutions
across the nation. I was fortunate enough to get the NAN'S president's number which reads 08101983991.

You are free to place a call across to him and let him know
the situation of things. I was baffled when he said he never
knew the trending news about Nysc issues. Please I call on
my fellow pcm's to place calls across to the number. You
can send a message equally.

I must commend the zikite pcm who wrote to Linda Ikeji few hours ago, your really doing a nice job a librarian for that matter kudos to you!!!!! Since most of us can't get across the advanced medias like the television, radios etc let's use our devices to protest the much we can. I believe our voices must be heard somehow, no matter what.
As peaceful protest is ongoing at the headquarters over
there at Abuja I must equally commend them with the much they've done so far.

Write to blogs, tweet, post pictures if you can, paint the
streets with placards. Just do whatever you can, but not
through violence to avoid loss of lives and properties.
I'll keep writing as soon as I get latest developments.

CORPS MOBILIZATION: SENATE COMMITTEE HARPS ON NEED FOR ADEQUATE BUDGETARY PROVISIONS The Senate Committee on Youth and Sports Development has stressed the need for adequate budgetary provisions to enable the National Youth Service Corps mobilize all eligible graduates for national service. This was part of submissions made today when the committee interacted with the NYSC Management during a familiarisation visit to the Scheme’s Headquarters in Abuja. The committee noted that leaving graduates to wait longer than necessary before being mobilized could be frustrating and could have unpleasant consequences. It, therefore, expressed readiness to support the Scheme towards avoiding a recurrence of the challenges being experienced as a result of budgetary constraint. Earlier his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Obinna Ogba said the purpose of the visit was to assess the state of affairs in the Scheme, especially the level of implementation of the 2016 budget as well as the shortfall and constraints being faced. Senator Ogba said the meeting was also aimed at gaining an insight into the Scheme’s budget plans for the 2017 fiscal year, adding that the committee was interested in identifying areas that needed its intervention in case of challenges. Speaking, the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Suleman Kazaure, briefed the committee on the level of preparations for the 2016 Batch ‘B’ Orientation course, the constraint being faced and the strategies being adopted towards ensuring a hitch-free exercise. The during the interaction, the committee and the Management discussed the preparation for the 2016 Batch ‘B’ Orientation course; especially with regards to budgetary provisions as well as the failure of some state governments to discharge their statutory obligations to the Scheme amongst other issues. The committee commended the NYSC Management for working as a team and indicated its readiness to assist in addressing challenges discussed at the meeting. Members of the committee present at the meeting were Senator Shaaba Lafiagi and Senator Mao Ohuabunwa.

NYSC can only entertain 70 000 pcm for this year...

FUTA pasted the list on Tuesdays and NYSC sent information on Wednesday .... so I called the NYSC office /FUTA Chapter this morning , their boss their confirmed it is true and then he said they are only going to group the names and then NYSC will do the slashing ... so I asked what about people that they omitted their names in batch A if they are going to give them priority .. the man said he doesn't know oo
