I had a few female acquaintances/friends who worked in the Big4 and finance industry. Trust me, unless you are financially above them, you won't be able to date or eventually marry them. They are intelligent, speak eloquently and are well-exposed. But biology will always biologicate - women marry up, and men marry down. It is the same everywhere. In East Asian societies, women will judge a man by where he works before thinking of dating him. The man is expected to earn a particular amount of money (usually more than they do) before marriage. It is part of life. He can befriend them platonically - they are exposed to business deals and have an invaluable network/contacts. Unless you are working in an industry where you are paid more than she does (oil and gas, senior software engineer earning in dollars, top medical consultant, investment banking) or own/run businesses whose revenues run into hundreds of millions of naira, better date a woman who you out-earn.

It is not your fault (nothing like your friend here. Na you be the friend ). It is just life being what it is.

I brought a matter to the forum because they said in the multitude of counsel there is wisdom. In my hearts of hearts, I would have told him to forget about the relationship but he said, the lady in question do care but I don't know how long that would last considering the discussion they have had.
Not like the boy is begging for food or cannot afford his rent or take care of himself, he was just worried about the family life if they eventually get married.
