Health / Re: Stop Using Tissue Paper To Wipe Your Nyash After Poo, Always Use Water . by DissTroy(m): 11:31am On Mar 12
For people like us who are hirsute - very hairy, tissue paper never really does the job. We have to wash everything off with water because, for us, hair grows everywhere. EVERYWHERE.

Even face wipes don't do the job of cleaning our faces and sweat since we have a lot of facial hair so water to the rescue, again.

Maybe it might work for people with no body hair.

I wonder what Youths see in Shallipopi's songs.
No good lyrical content

In a twisted way, it's good they showcase who they are so people like us can filter who we get personal and intimate with (especially for the females amongst them).

---

Attended a reception last weekend. Got there before it began. Soon enough my table was filled with a bevy of ladies - ladies in the loose sense. Music began blaring before the couple walked in and my stereotype of almost all of them with overly-made-up faces screaming "If she no sûck o..." was spot-on.

...except the lady on my left who was more reserved. I knew who I was going to turn on the heat with flirting with. Turns out she's a lawyer who took up fashion designing, made the bridal train's outfits, and is highly in demand when I checked her out on Facebook that evening.
It made sense that she wouldn't sing along to "If she no suck o..." since she makes her own money decently.

A little conversation with one of the "If she no suck o " crew in front of me and she couldn't be really straightforward with what she does for a living while making TikTok videos singing along at intervals so I let the conversation tail off. You could tell what she believes in.

But that's just a small instance where a billion instances exist to corroborate it.

If you don't believe in it or it doesn't resonate with you, you won't sing along to it.

Fraud and/or cultism apologists are definitely attracted to that kind.

#SayNoToCultism is trending and back as a topical issue.

When DissTrôy complains about shit and negatively impressionable music, somehow the Shalli-whatever nitwit slips in Akwa Ibom out of nowhere into the conversation to deflect from the point because snide and brainless remarks are the hallmark.

You sing "Men mount" and other such songs championing fraud and cultism, and even declare yourselves as ambassadors of such music then complain about cultism.

You are the reason cultists talking on rhythmic beats are bold enough to be so brash and uncivilized since they know they have adherents amongst you. You stream such songs, attend such shows, and follow and engage with such crass fellows across social media.

Yeah, "It's just fun".

You are the reason cultism and fraud are being made to seem cool. It's your fault!

Of course shallipopi is no match for omah lay. My stanship for shalli won't make me go that far. See my post on this last e

I've already reiterated he's watery lyrically as most of his songs are the ones created to just give you a "good time" but same way people like you hate it is why others like it, just like our different sports teams and our candidates during elections, maybe cause I've been in the streets for some time I don't know plus he's bini grin
I don't deny his lyrics don't also have an influence just like artistes of old but there's also a way you're trained either at home, school or place of worship that'll you have a mind of your own when it comes to certain things. Also not everyone has the mind to do act on certain stuff. Shallipopi isn't the first to sing about vain stuff and surely he won't be the last.

Completely random question: Do you by any chance like big polos/ t-shirts, with cross bags - black crossbags, slides and white socks with shorts to booth? And white airpods too?

You were rating omah lay the other day so you must and are still jamming to soso take my pain away.

Nobody is talking about what they drink or smoke. It's about the quality of music.

I don't think it's about the bolded . Maybe I can't speak about other tribe music , but I can tell u there were Yoruba musicians who had lewd lyrics in their songs while we were growing up .

The Fela that everyone celebrates today was a weed smoker and nudist. My dad told me most parents actually didn't want their children to go to African shrine to watch Fela . A lot of girls never turned out good the moment they entered Fela shrine.

Yet Some of our parents as would go there in their youth to watch him live . Those same parents still raised children they were strict enough to raise well despite their own vices as young adults . In fact Jimi Disu today is a 60 smithing year old veteran journalist and social critic, a grandfather who has kids he trained up to university level . He always mentions it on his radio programmes how he was staunch fella follower who frequents Kalakuta wella .

Obesere wasn't blasted to us 24/7 as kids, was it? It was regulated. Either at the random Owambé down the street or occasionally on radio.

Now there's a deluge of shit music available on demand and 24/7 to impressionable kids.

We didn't have a forced message which mocked going to school or reading culture and casualized everything. Same era where quizzes on NTA, Cowbell and Milo educational competitions were the norm? Where Who Wants To Be A Millionaire was the thing?Where it was cool to be book-smart.

We never had the "All way na way" mentality which is prevalent now. That's what Gen Z and Gen Alpha are being force-fed with now. Yet we blame them for the environment we created.

Almost 16k per student.

But are there only 48,797 WAEC candidates for this year in the state? If no, how will the poorest ones be identified and made the beneficiaries of this fund?

Since 2007 under Godswill Akpabio, primary, secondary, and WAEC for students in public schools are free. And it's a punishable crime for the administration of government schools to demand any tuition or WAEC fees.

Free pre-tertiary education has been mandatory for 17 years now in Akwa Ibom. Nonnegotiable regardless of who is in power.

Quantifying that demography of unflinching patriots to "few" might be more like it, man. The history of Nigerian sociopolitics is proof enough.

Most Nigerians' loyalties lie with their tribes first. Since tribal ties are the most topical issues in Nigeria, we are all conscious of our tribal identities and everything in the polity reminds us of it.

This is a wide generalization don't u think ? Not everybody places tribal interests first in all things.

As regards regional politics, the reason tribalism always rears its ugly head is because we actually don't practice democracy like we should in a plural state where u have different people with different interests. When u see a governor who would site most developmental projects in his own region of the state, it is only normal that the people of other tribe fight tooth and nail to have their own son too get the number 1 seat and favour them as well.

The exceptions do not negate the rule.

Just because you and I and others here might be different doesn't make it norm. The Esan sentiments in Edo are the same sentiments in other places - we versus them.

It's even more profound in ethnically diversed states. You are Yoruba from a region which is largely homogenous.

Cross Riverians with more than 100 tribes, Rivers with 10+ tribes and a few others would disagree with you.

Almost two months ago, I went on and on exposing how fraudulent Aisha Yesufu is, her antics, and how she's been riding the Peter Obi wave and posturing to pilfer money for herself.

A number of persons - TheFlint1 chief of them - disputed it and countered calling me a hater.

Today, she's trending on Twitter as "Hushmummy" with FS Yusufu, a staunch Obidient, exposing her and reiterating the same points I made about her on this thread about two months ago.

Shelve emotionality and you'd see people for who they really are. smiley

DissTroy:

I'm not here to prove anything to you. I'm here to state the facts without any deviation to whataboutism or emotionality. I never do either. I was calling the Black Lives Matter campaign a scam before the leaders were eventually exposed as such. My Nairaland posts are my proofs.

I was already stating the Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, Pat Utomi connection long before it happened right here on this thread.

Reno Omokri has pictures on his website of him preaching in a church he supposedly pastors. Mind of Christ Christian Center. How do I know so much? I can't reveal without giving away too much. Just like the shop picture Aisha Yesufu posted. It's a front.

- Reno Omokri had donations given to the Free Leah Sharibu campaign which he never accounted for.
- Aisha Yesufu and her colleagues had millions donated to the Bring Back Our Girls Movement from around the world which she never accounted for.

- Donations were made to release EndSARS victims in police custody e.t.c. No account till date.

Two of a kind.

There was a debacle about her being in the midst of Labour Party agent mobilization fees. It died down as with any Nigerian scandal.

Don't get personal. This isn't about emotions.

If Reno Omokri had been supporting Peter Obi like Aisha Yesufu is today, you'd be defending him even as I call him out.

DissTroy:

You know what? Screw it! I was going to focus this exegesis on Reno Omokri primarily, but since there's a defender of the scheming Aisha Yesufu, well, let's step into the light.

-++++

Aisha Yesufu postured and maneuvered her way into being in charge of funds to mobilise Labour Party polling agents.

Here she is declaring and assuring them they'd be paid: https://twitter.com/AishaYesufu/status/1629131200815063042?lang=en .

On election day and in the aftermath, the news was flooded with complaints by LP polling agents complaining about not being mobilised and some in the core North even abandoning their duty posts partly due to this and inducements from other parties.

Have we ever done accountability for how much was budgeted and how much was disbursed? No! You want recounts from top-ranking Peter Obi mobilisers who I have been in contact with? Yet we troll Feminist Coalition for evading the accountability searchlight.

Don't get me started. DissTróy never makes claims he doesn't have evidence for. 1 plus 1 would equal 2 always.

.....Punch reported Abia enjoyed 48hrs uninterrupted power supply. Obidients on X keep praising Alex Otti for 24/7 power supply in Abia State, even though his Administration has nothing to do with the success of power plant.

In reality, real Abians on ground ain't enjoying 24/7 power supply yet. Funnily the power Station has not been fired up because of little maintenance they are carrying out on Turbines.

Why do we lie to ourselves a lot on social media?!

Simple: Because perception is a stronger force than reality. If you can successfully push a narrative, it matters little if reality contradicts the tales you tell.

It was always a propaganda job. 24/7 electricity isn't something you achieve in one day. You need certain modalities in play.

---

For example, Ibom Power currently generates 84MW and has the capacity to generate 179MW with a scale-up of up to 700+MW; but the Transmission Company of Nigeria can only take up 32MW to sell to PHED.
Ibom Power has to transmit the rest itself to Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin, and Eket LGAs while the rest of the electricity goes to waste because TCN can't take up the generated power.

Now it's seeking modalities to bypass TCN and transmit directly. That's the only way it can give 24/7 electricity to ALL parts of Akwa Ibom, and parts of Cross River.

The whole Abia 24/7 electricity thing was always a propaganda to troll the central government as an opposition party even though it's privately owned; but it has a higher chance of succeeding since it is privately managed.
The next thing would be generating adequate revenue from customers - that's profitability. Would customers pay or be entitled to it? One of the issues Ibom Power Company is tinkering with too. Some LGAs feel entitled to it.

And that's where electricity metering comes in to avoid estimated billing and loss to corruption.

This is the reality. Propaganda is only good for optics. 24/7 electricity isn't something you can do in months. Switching from the national grid itself takes months or longer. Ibom Power had a 2007 headstart but I won't tell you all parts of Akwa Ibom get 24/7 electricity when there's still a TCN middleman as a bottleneck.

But people like Twitter lies and likes. They'd run with lies with no proper understanding.

You are giving generic replies to serious questions.
It doesn't work that way.

If you say because you understand kwale then they had or have an Igbo identity, there should be stories or something to atleast tie it all together.

Now I understand that the civil war did damage to the Igbos. From people denying they are Igbos for fear of their lives to those who relocated...

But there should be historical writings before the war was waged against the Igbos.
Not everything can be lost

What the hell is this? What sort of self-victimisation is this? You have always seemed like an apologist seeking validation.

Nobody wagged a War against Igbos during the Civil War. Ojukwu took a side for the Eastern region, Gowon took a side for Nigeria.

We in the Eastern region lost lives, properties and more because we were on the Biafran side. The Nigeria Army rained bombs in Igbo lands and in present-day Akwa Ibom, Delta, and parts of Rivers. There are still testaments to the Nigeria Army bombing in Ikot Ekpene and other places.

The Igbos weren't the only victims. We were too. The Biafra side killed too. There was a siege in Ore and Port Harcourt too. No?

We just learnt to move past it and stop playing victims.

The man who wrote Godswill Akpabio's biography which is on sale wrote a book called "Civil War Child". He's a medical doctor but was in the Civil War when bombs rained in Ikot Ekpene.

Do you know Akpabio's family in his native Ikot Ekpene suffered grave casualties as soldiers for Biafra and as innocent community dwellers too?

When Ojukwu went into exile, it was an Ibibio man who saw the War to the end.

This attitude of claiming Igbos suffered alone while downplaying the contributions of others is another reason why these other tribes in the Old Eastern Region no longer want a part of any such Union in the future.

The Biafran side killed like the Nigerian side. The Biafran side suffered famine and starvation everywhere, in and outside Igbo land.

Nobody waged war on the Igbos. It was a War against and for Biafra. Stop the self-victimisatiom and pity party.

The Ibibios have different Abasi.

1. Abasi Eyong - god of the skies

2. Abasi Ikpa isong - god of the earth (This is supposedly the deadliest and called on for vengeance. Controls Ekpo Nka Owo (the law against adultery) like the case which happened in Delta of a cheating confessed housewife dying.)

3. Abasi eyong mme isong - god of the skies and the earth

4. Abasi ukod - god of in-laws (Ibibio culture requires you to defend your in-laws to death so a man who flees harm from anywhere to his wife's place would be defended to death. No excuses. And if you hurt him, there are repercussions.)

5. Abasi eyeyen - god of grandchildren (Your maternal family are expected to defend you and provide for you with their lives in times of need and hurting you comes with grave consequences. I'm more likely to get way with a bad deed at my mother's hometown than her elder brothers' kids, my cousins. That's the rule. I can't be hurt. Until I do extreme).

6. Abasi ederimbot - god of the universe.

This trick is exactly what they used during the Civil War to try to shortchange us. Trying to rename Uyo to "New Owerri" under the guise of oneness while trying to relocate their people there. We saw this. Others did and backed out of the failed Civil War.

Continue to turn in your grave, Col..Effiong for not abandoning the War sooner like the Ibibio Union advised. Ikot Ekpene, Ini, Etim Ekpo, Essien Udim and other LGAs suffered casualties for clandestine usurpers.

The apeman never eat Ofe Owerre. that's why he is bleating like aturu. One day I go carry am enter Mama Owerri restaurant make him taste Ofe Owerre.

Person wey nor get money cannot eat Ofe Ukazi.

You want to go full on self-racism and tribalistic? Well, you asked for it.

---

As at 1920, there are still pictures of Igbos walking around naked! Pictured naked in barns and crouching over! NAKED when other tribes were obtaining PhDs and breaking barriers.

Since you want to go low, let's do it.

I'd dig up links to pictures of actual Igbo apemen in the 1900's and you dig up any of Ibibios or the tribes on the coast.

The one who can dig up the pictures wins and the loser deactivates his account. smiley

Deal?

Jaja the captured one became King of Opobo. grin

Why are you so pained? grin

That's not my business. There are Ijaws here. Let them defend themselves. My loyalty is to the Ibibio people and when you wrongly attribute anything to the Ibibio (and Akwa Ibom by extension), I'd respond.

You can try to troll with a thousand emojis to cover you shame and deviate. The point is stop appropriating.

This is already tribal harassment. If this were that era, you know you would be singing "Kumbaya" in a dingy boat by now.

I dont even think any igbo person wants to be associated with ibibio or efik. Disstroy stop disturbing yourself. What spy is saying is just History. Una never reach to answer igbo, The difference is Clear

You are an dumbo who pops up only when there's a tribal war or seemingly one.

You have non history. No documented one. The closest you had was years after you had been captured and in-roads made by us for the Europeans to get access.

You weren't even organised, had no king, and Village A could go to war with Village B over a bunch of plantain and listened to no one. How then could you have been significant enough for "Igbos" to be the denonym of the many tribes around. Heck! You were in the hinterlands and we were on the coast where everything is.

You needed to come to us, not us to you. And you had to pay homage while at it.

Show us your history. Was it not less than 200 years ago or so when you had contact with British while most of us on the coast had with the Europeans for over 400 years?

Nobody wants to be you. You are the one forcing yourself on us. Stay on your lane. We don't want to be you and certainly not you being us.

You claim to know geolocations and you think calling South South has any meaning in geography? Even common sense knows it's meaningless.

The term was forced on us just to create divisions.

NB
I am not begging you to be Igbo. You can be Viking for all I care. I am just passing historic information. That's all.

Peace

You are mád! Imagine a conquered people who were pillaged by all tribes in the Delta estuary, from Ijaws to Itshekiris to Ibibios claiming we are a subset of them.

You fuckiñg couldn't read and write while we were already lettered for decades. Until you were captured and sold off. Even the most famous one, was a captured man - Jaja.

You'd go fill Wikipedia with histories you imagined then come lie. If I didn't insistently state the 1929 Women Riot happened in Akwa Ibom, posting pictures and more, many of you would still be insisting.

Now you want to claim Nsibidi. On Wikipedia you wrote Ibibio and Igbo, next you'd edit it to add only Igbo. Is there an Ekpe cult which is the custodian of Nsibidi in Igbo land? No. How come you own it?

Same way you force Afang soup which has been an Ibibio cuisine for centuries as yours. Then rebranded it as Okasi.

What is wrong with you people?

Stop the forced kinship. We are not interested. Keep your appropriation to yourselves.

It'd really be nice if you guys can keep the discourse civil, I see no reason why the discourse can't be kept clean.

It was civil. I answered A001 and deliberately didn't respond to his reply so it won't spark off something.

Only for that whoever-he-is to make crazy claims.

"All tribes down south are known as Igbos "?

He must be mád! This attitude of appropriation is exactly what breeds distrust with others when we should all live in coexistence otherwise.

He must be very mád!

On what authority are u saying this? which history book are u quoting?

I also saw u mentioned Efik as being Igbo; how? U mean the Efik don't have their own history of how they came into being a group of people distinct from the Igbo's?

He's a mischievous nitwit. They have begun the aggression then when I and others counter, they play the victims.

Imagine people in the hinterlands who nobody knew and were scattered across countless settlements with no united or defined leadership claiming everyone called us then. Even the Portuguese and first Europeans needed us to go get them for the (inhumane) interaction with the outside world they first had.

You were the oppressed and never the dominant ones. Was it not Ijaw, Itshekiri and Ibibio manhunters who invaded you and sold you off? Inhumane in retrospective but it happened, so how come you claim out of your anus that all tribes down the Niger were called Igbos? In your hinterlands nobody came to except during the slave trade to hunt and capture?

Wasn't it relatively recently their language got written? When Ibibio-Efik and others had been documented for years before that?

He just wants to start and argument and rewrite history. Well, it's a weekend. Let's have it. But let's remember who started it first.
