Realmrsean: Maybe; then again, maybe not. Even evolutionists do not agree the evolution theory is absolute - they still debate it. But scientists have made one submission which we all agree with - we only understand a fraction of how the brain (mind) works. We don't even know it's full capabilities. It's like generative AI - cooking up a gazillion possibilities. It also has proven telepathic abilities where you look at a person and you communicate with eyes alone. Who says it doesn't have other abilities? The abilities emcompassed in what we call "gut feeling"? Until we understand how it works and have a full explanation for it, dismissing it is playing ostrich. |

Realmrsean: That's the whole point. There's no scientific explanation for that gut feeling. It's even more puzzling when there's no precedence of such occurring to you yet you have feel a strong urge to do otherwise. Just like that sudden urge to take a detour off a route you've driven for years without fail. You ask yourself why, but no explanation, yet you still feel that voice say, "No, go that way". You can't explain it, I can't, science can't. I'm barely even religious so it can't be attributed to being churchy or other such attributions to the divine. But we still can't explain what drives gut feeling. |

liveLongNprospa: December 10, 2016. The bishop of a big church was being ordained. I had accepted an invite to be there so had rushed back into the city. A Saturday it was. The Governor was billed to be there. I was all set to go but at the dying minute, changed my mind to watch EPL games. Funny thing is, the games do not start till midday and Barça had a game for that evening so I would have been done with the church attendance before then. There was no logical reason not to attend but I just had this gut feeling not to. Even ignored the reminders by the person who invited me. Decided to go visit friends instead, and as we were bantering and trolling each other's teams, news filtered in of the church collapse by late noon. Several people died, including the person who invited me. At the spot. I'd have been seated beside the person certainly. Joe and Lezz kept trying to reach me, and the later did late at night to confirm my safety since I had mentioned to them in passing when we chatted I'd be attending. Gut feeling is something we can't explain. But it's potent. Very potent. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

BlueRayDick: Three human phenomena even the most ardent atheist has explanation for: - Instincts - Intuition - Clairvoyance There's no absolute explanation for these phenomena. Sometimes you just have that gut feeling there's no logical explanation for, and if you ignore it, you'd rue your mistake for life if you are lucky to survive it. 1 Like |

Odunayaw: You can't even read or comprehend to begin with. If you could, you'd be able to critique intelligently instead of having blind faith. Everyone kept complaining about the midfield. Everyone but you and your faux -patriotic cohorts who questioned the nationality of any of us who dared asked questions. But you have less than the intelligence of a cuttlefish. A rodent would have realized the obvious faster than you. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Odunayaw: You fickleminded nßtwit. You think I give a tuppence about you wishy nûmbskulls? You wishy-washy simpleminded thing who thinks everyone who points out the flaw in a system is håteful. Our midfield was as good as dead. Our players were bragging about winning all over social media. We the pragmatic ones warned about being complacent. You the happy-go-lucky ones countered us for pointing out the obvious. Exactly what we pointed out happened - complacency. It's the same way you have blind faith in public officials and call out those who demand better as a hatérs of Nigeria, even when the system has to be rejigged. You deserve a high-five. In the face. With a plank. 3 Likes 1 Share |

If you are a Messi fan like me, after the devastating heartbreak of the 2014 World Cup final, no football result can shock you just as much. Almost a decade of being hardened. Some sort of vaccine to the aftershock of football loss. A thousand AFCON final losses just feels like one of those things. |

LordTheus: Ghana is going to get revenge on us. I warned! Faith alone gives you nothing. Nothing! Faith without work is dead. Our midfield was dead. It's the same way we keep hoping Nigeria would get better when the system continues to reward Iwobi-esque public office holders and excuses away their many shortcomings. 1 Like |

Google-search "Greatest La Liga midfielders of all time". Kroos is never mentioned. Xavi is always in top 2 on any list. Modric sometimes even gets mentioned in the top 15, but never Kroos. Not even once. https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/10-best-midfielders-in-la-liga-history https://m.allfootballapp.com/news/epl/5-Greatest-Midfielders-in-La-Liga-History/2792034 Do show any list where Kroos is mentioned and more particularly, any top 5 or top 10 list of greatest midfielders where Kroos is mentioned. Even one. In contrast, all the lists always have Xavi on them. |

Just about every radio station and hospitality outfit has been playing Tyla's "Water" since beating South Africa, and even more so today, the AFCON final. Everyone. If you tune in or linger for a few minutes, her song would come on. Nigerians are petty. 5 Likes 1 Share |

We can all keep wailing about the kidnappings and increased spate of crimes while blaming the government for everything, but as long as a vocal and sizeable number of young people continue to excuse away questionable and unexplainable sources of wealth under the guise of "Did you question his poverty?" or as it's more commonly stated crudely in the South " All way na way ", the insecurity is only going to get worse. Just this week, right on this thread, fraud was being justified by certain people. Right on Facebook, kidnappings are excused away. Then human trafficking, armed robbery, and worse. Blame the government, blame Nigeria, blame the heroes past (and the anti-heroes), but you are a ruining crime apologist because it favours you and yours. 4 Likes

Blueelf: Maybe; but then again, maybe not. Nostalgic bias? You seem to forget so quickly how Mikel used to get vituperative criticisms from football lovers for holding on to the ball a tad too longer than necessary, needless back passes when he should be forcing the attack, and slowing the pace of the team's attack. Onazi was more attack-minded than Mikel. 5 Likes |

liveLongNprospa: Kroos was never in the conversation for the top 3 most influential players in the Madrid UCL-winning teams and the WC German team. The IG model, Benzema, Modric, Ramos, and Casemiro were more decisive than him for the Madrid team. Muller, Boateng, Neuer, and even Lahm were more influential to the German World Cup success. ---- In contrast, Xavi was Spain's and Barcelona's top 3 player for all of the stretched periods of dominance. So much so there's still a debate if he was denied a Balon d'Or or two - something nobody has said about Kroos. 1 Like |

liveLongNprospa: It's funny and laughable until you realize the group is chiefly a Northern group where the majority take what their thought leaders saying without questioning it. And if you can spread the narrative to the unlearned man who has the same voting rights as you that Peter Obi has trillions stacked away which he hasn't made available to the hungry man, it begins to take shape. And it's hard to change a core Northern man's perception once it forms. Elections would be here soon and he and his horde would vocalize it. Remember how the rumour of Obi chasing non-Igbos away from Anambra as Governor raised its head during the campaigns? It started as a rumour a decade and a half before. |

First time in weeks of transferring to a traditional bank vendor account on a weekend, got debited but seller isn't credited. Of course, Nigerian vendors don't care. The joke is on his minions who cheered him when he kept dropping distasteful and anti-economic-development takes during the campaigns. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
