Almost all the ethnic groups in the SE Nigeria are Igbos. The thing is that, Igbo is a very general identity with numerous variants. Before the civil war, most of those communities consider themselves Igbo. It was the Nigerian government in the bid to weaken the people and use the divide and rule tactics broke the Igbo people apart and made some deny their heritage for a morsel of bread.

I am Owerri for example. My dialect is almost the same as Ikwerre. I cannot understand a man from Enugu or Abakiliki. But Enugu is Igbo and Ikwerre think they are not.

The Igbo cultural set cuts across Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, Benue, Edo, Kogi etc .

I thought of a long rebuttal but then I thought what's the point of it when you lack basic understanding of geolocation to know the difference between South East and the South South where Akwa Ibom is located, or you are being mischievous.

You lots just like to force yourself on others even when you have been resoundingly told they have no ties to you. This argument was had just last December on this thread with Okpa and all doubts cleared. When you do this then appropriate other people's cultures.

We aren't interested and have no tribal ties to you. Why can't you get this and be on your way? Why force kinship with those who don't want it?

Remember clearly you started this so when and if it goes south, we know those who would gaslight and play the victim card on this thread.

Jordan Williams is a lexicographer doing a great job reviving the Nsibidi writing system of the Igbos.

This project is quite impressive and laudable. I wonder if Yoruba people also had a similar writing system developed by the ancestors in the past eras as claimed by Otem.

If more people in Yorubaland and Igboland in the past had shown interest in these indigenous writing systems, they might still commonly be in use today instead of the Latin characters that are utilized as the standard characters in Yoruba and Igbo languages in modern times.

Kudos to Jordan for reviving this fascinating indigenous knowledge (writing) system. We need more of such projects in Africa, especially West Africa.

Link to his FB page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100004193432971&mibextid=ZbWKwL

You are wrong. Do your research.

The Nsibidi writing system is of the Ibibio people. Until about a century ago, only the Ekpe cult of the Ibibios knew how to write and transcribe it. Till date, only Ekpe cult members can fully transcribe the Nsibide form of writing which is a tiny bit similar to Hieroglyphs.

Stop appropriating our history to others.
Just like the 1929 Women Riot is wrongly appropriated even though it happened at Ikot Abasi LGA, Akwa Ibom State.

Nsibidi has nothing to do with the Igbos. Strictly Ibibio. In crude Ibibio, Nsibidi means "spirit talk", or like Christians say " Speaking in tongues".

Rock puts one in that introspective mood too and the rhythm is better than all these Shalli-whatever and hairbrained Odumodu songs people listen to these days.

There's Soft Rock, Hard Rock, and Mid-tempo Rock.

Great!

But Nigeria stopped enforcing hers for years. You have a lot of effeminate cross-dressers and deviants openly declaring their sexual deviancy yet the government looks the other way.

Tinubu who is keen of tightening and increasing partnerships with the West is looking the other way. Everyday blogs are filled with Nigerian crossdressers openly saying the are dating men and enhancing body parts too look female and the police isn't arresting them.

I had to quit watching some of Funke Akindele's movies and series - the most recent being "She Must Be Obeyed" since it had male crossdressers and deviants being celebrated on it.

Silly skitmakers even feature mad deviants like Bob-whatever and James-whatever.

I hope Ghana does a better job at it.

People who want to listen to only feel good fast-paced songs, I have discovered in my experience, are not deep and mostly happy-go-lucky.

If you listen to introspective songs like Sia, Passenger, Jon Bellion and the likes, it tells about who you are. During the talking stage with any female, I sort of gauge their level of introspectiveness with her music tastes, and I've never been wrong about them.

Introspective people - ambiverts mostly - ruminate on their actions, conversations they have had, and are more likely to make amends than all these fast-paced songs females who crrave the spotlight and want to drown their thoughts.

No, if you are at peace with yourself, listening to R&B songs, and a medley of alternative music and jazz wouldn't make you depressed. I listen to these all day for hours on end while working and I have never felt depressed.

I see no reason agitating for the sack of a man that is also from Niger Delta. Abi is delta state not part of Niger Delta too. Say no to tribalism. Ebie has come to stay.

Interestingly, when an Ibibio man Nsima Ekere was made NDDC Chairman in 2016 and served till August 2018 when he resigned to contest the governorship election, the Ijaws led smear campaigns to have him removed but Buhari stood firm.

When Akpabio was made Niger Delta Minister, the Ikwerres and some other minorities (the Ibibios and Ijaws are the only majorities in the South South) through Wike led campaigns for him to be sacked. He wasn't. Oddly, he and Wike are buddies on the same boat now.

Nigerians are clannish. It's why most never complain of illegalities as long as their people head such bodies or geopolitical areas.

LOL. The OP is a clown. I lost interest in reading after the second paragraph where listed 7 Ijaw LGAs in Akwa Ibom.

There's no Ijaw LGA in Akwa Ibom. Akwa Ibom has 31 LGAs and only 2 (Ibeno and Eastern Obolo) were Ijaw fishermen who settled and have mixed with the Ibibio population.
Ibime and I had the discussion on this thread in December where I explained in detail with links too.

Here's the true situation of things:

All 12 major oil-producibg LGAs (including mine) of Akwa Ibom State have been protesting non-implementation of oil and gas producing act of the PIB which ensured special provisions for these areas, including payments and special projects. And are seeking a special development commission.

The protests started since on Friday. No casualty.

And the distance from Uyo to the scene of the protests is more like Ikorodu or Ikeja to Mowe.
Ikoyi to Iloye. Far removed and all. Uyo is the center of the state.

This was done to FT and some other people I can't remember. Business should be separated from pleasure.

I've been tagged to posts where someone used my details to post something demeaning on this forum in 2016. Actually, the someone was the now-disgraced DarkRebel.

I've come online to my then office address and brand paraphernalia posted on this thread less than a year ago.

Blackface sang" Erima" but did not released it that year. psquare released "Do me" off Game over album and it went viral. Later, Blackface released Erinma.
Back then, story from the street was that the producer sold Blackface Unreleased song beat to P-square, some said that it was Blackface that actually sold the beat to psquare.
Surprisingly, years later Blackface called P-square out for stealing his song beat(unreleased by the time "Do me" was released).

Do you remember?

Every hit song in Nigeria was stolen from Blackface, according to Blackface Reporters.

Let's get this straight: A designer brainstorms on a product idea with a UI/UX design. He draws up a wireframe of it. You heard about it but backed away from it.
And since it's just a rough work, I build on the same design, build the actual product, do product-market-fit, onboard users, scale it, win awards with it, then when you see I've succeeded with it and built loyalists around it, you build a similar product, same design and everything then change the name and tagline, but I am the thief?

Absurd, right? That's exactly how Blackface's claims come across. He'd have been the one paying for damages if PMAN actually functioned.

Blackface was not an Ajegunle musician, this man. Marvelous you are talking about sef was signed to Kennis.

The Ajegunle music you are making out to be bad was even hotter than most mainstream guys back then. They just didn't have the right structure.

Blackface was a star, of course. Ajegunle music was good too, but nothing close to the finesse and class the likes of PSquare, 2Face, Faze, and the main boys brought on.

Drop hit for hits between Ghetto Child and Faze alone.

Duncan Mighty had more hits in his first album than both combined but he was a regional artiste, sadly. All his songs are evergreen and still strike hard.

Crossing over was what defined stars. Faze did it, with airplays on pan-African TV stations. Blackface didn't.

What do you mean by soundcity worthy?

No be money them dey use put music for those platforms?

No be money them dey use do video? Blackface was an independent guy which was his downfall. He won be oga.

But for that first solo album o, Blackface floor Faze by a mile.

If you'd put it this way, we could say Original Stereoman and Danfo Drivers floored Blackface and Faze too. Floored a lot of artistes for that 2003 - 2005 stretch.

But they were still Ajegunle-styled artistes without that embracing finesse which PSquare, 2Face, and even Faze had - finesse which translated to transnational acceptability. This was what set them apart.

African China hit too but he was still an Ajegunle, Ghetto brand artsite.

Faze was on a higher level. Had almost the class and finesse to his songs and music videos like 2Face. Go watch their music videos from that era to compare and contrast.

Come to think of it that there was a time Christian ladies were forbidden to wear trousers not only in church but even in public . Now the children of those people who did the forbidding are the ones who run churches where women wear trousers in church , guys pierce their ears and weave their hairs and some men even go to same church with pierced nose cheesy

Times have changed truly

Winners and Christ Embassy were already putting on trousers as far back as I can remember, but that particular church wasn't having any of it. Knee-length skirts too were enforced.

Hairs must be covered for women, no weavons or wigs, but braids with 'attachments' for hair extensions could be overlooked. No dyed hair, of course. Piercings on men were a no-no, dreads were forbidden, and women had just the one-piercing-per-ear-lobe kind.

I think that religious indoctrination sort of grew with most of us, no matter how irreligious or liberal we claim to be now. I still haven't been able to rationalize multiple piercings, tattoos, nose rings, and extravagantly dyed hair and unconventional hairstyles.

Funny how the same church which suspended the girl then for putting on trousers which didn't even objectify her now condones choir members attending choir practice in trousers and with wigs on.

I'd share my trajectory so maybe you can sieve something from it.

- I was a writer to begin with, even back in school.
- Later on, I did web content writing and publishing and this naturally meant I had to understand the basics of SEO.
- I went on to learn web development and design.
- Naturally I had to design banners and the likes for web content so I learnt graphic design.
- Since I had a background in graphic design and wanted to build modern, functional, and beautiful websites, I naturally learnt UI/UX.

So, Copywriting, Web Development, Graphic Design, UI/UX.

Over the years, I had to draw up documents and all of the necessary business writing so I took such courses and now I develop brand pitch decks and brand analytics. That's two more skills added.

Coywriting, Web Development, Graphic Design, UI/UX, Brand Analytics and Presentation... The necessary skills needed to take a brand from zero to one. And because I have these skills, I'm on-track as a Product Manager or Digital Project Manager.

All these skills are interrelated so I offer full digital brand development and management packages with these individual services fused into the packages. And this is what I have been doing - an ecosystem of necessary and related services.

Now even for bootstrapped products I build, since I am skilled in these areas, I can develop a product from ideation to MVP stage then scale further even as a one-man team, or with a team.

-----

Learn UI/UX to so you can conceptualize ideas and design them before coding..Then learn SEO so the websites and web apps you build are easily indexed on the internet.

I hope the owners cut off the Transmission Company of Nigeria to transmit directly.

The TCN's facilities are old so can't take up all the generated electricity.

Ibom Power generates 130MW of electricity but TCN can take up only 32MW so the Ibom Power has to transmit the rest itself while the rest goes to waste even though it can generate enough power to power Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, and most of Rivers. But the power supply in Akwa Ibom is good regardless.

Congratulations to Abia. 9 LGAs is a good start.

Other states must sit up. FG can't do it all.

The truth? I actually do not enjoy what I did to you yesterday and today. You and I have been cool for years and never gone against each other. I take no delight in it since there's no motivation from simmering angst between us.

You took the bait of LiveLongnProspa yesterday whose job here is to cause rancour needlessly and make people go against each other. You should have seen his antics for what it is to ignore like Izu advised in retrospect. Same thing he tried to cause between BlueRay and myself out of the blues same day.

But you thought it was one of those times when you'd gang up in your anti-Akwa Ibom unrelated slurfest while I restrain myself from using certain words like other times over the momths. Now you know I can go just as low too, or lower when I want to.
