Igboho Saga: Oluwo Intervenes, Writes Buhari I extend my cool, warmest royal greetings to the number one citizen, President Muhammed Buhari. I've the hope your day is as the same as mine. As a Muslim, you are not unaware of the peculiarity of Friday, being one of the days for forgiveness. Nigerians most especially ardent readers and witnesses of history will not forget in haste many suspicious circumstances that consumed many nationalists. One of the leading and still fresh was the Egba born aristocrat, Moshood Kasimawo Olawale Abiola who died in July 7th, 1998. Kensaro Wiwa equally had his taste. Almost all regions of Nigerian State have had their taste of such occurrence. The prologue and epilogue were historically preserved to be a lesson. But when a child is a slow learner, the parents will have to guide, guard and educate severally before a stable momentum. Silence of the parents at times may be translated to support but not necessarily. Not all children appreciate their parents at the point of moral discipline. Disciplinarians tells the truth to positively shape the children's future. But when the child tells you your mouth is smelling, you stay back and observe. However, responsible father will not throw his child away with bath water. I say this to let your Excellency understand the position of most Royal Fathers and stakeholders on agitation for Yoruba nation. We warned him. However, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho earned his popularity as an activist whose joy is to liberate the cheated. He started as such and grew with it. His strategy is not known to me because I'm not in his camp. Whenever I've information about his move, I do call him to order. He visited my palace sometimes in 2018. I give pieces of advice when sought. Instead of Igboho to distinctively differentiate between agitation towards government and inter groups activism, he failed. At a point, he abused stakeholders with spurious allegations. I was the first in the list for drumming support for one Nigeria. As a father, I've personally forgives him. And I'm personally beseeching your Excellency as the number one citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to demonstrate your magnanimity by forgiven our promising son, Chief Adeyemo Sunday Igboho. He is a novice in handling issues against the government. He is a gift to us in Yoruba. He has pledged his readiness to listen to us. I appeal to your Excellency to slow down security trail on Sunday Igboho. I've the assurance adhering to this piece will go a long way in strenthening the unity of Nigeria. I promise your Excellency that Igboho will mind his steps henceforth. He has suffered a lot. He would step down agitations. I will bring him for peace talk at appropriate time. Liberal struggles are won on intelligentsia merit. Arsenals without strategy is a defeated battle. These and many more, I supposed he has learnt and ready to mend his way. Nigeria is an indivisible entity that cannot be tore overnight for whatever reason. let's forgive to move on and up. The strength is not only in diversity but also forgiveness. In conclusion, we have seen the handwriting. When government speaks different languages, the wise ruminates and take caution. I commend your efforts geared towards combating crimes, checkmating banditry and curtailing criminalities and your vigorous fight against corruption. Most importantly, your commitment to infrastructural growth is unequalled. One Nigeria, great future. Alli Ibraheem, Chief Press Secretary to Oluwo THE PARAMOUNT RULER OF IWOLAND, HIM OBA (DR.) ABDULROSHEED ADEWALE AKANBI, TELU I |
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called for the immediate release of 13 students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) being held in Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Lagos. NANS’ President, Mr Chinonso Obasi, said the union would protest at Kirikiri Prison if the 13 students were not freed within 24 hours. A Special Offences Mobile Court had on April 1 remanded the 13 UNILAG students in Kirikiri Prisons, pending their bail application. They were accused of engaging in unlawful invasion of Television Continental in Lagos. The students were arraigned on a two-count charge of unlawful invasion and disruption of activities and have all pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge. The accused students are Femi Adeyeye, Toni Aina, Kodri Yaya, Asimi Oladime, Ismahim Olalekan, Segun Okesola, Abdulazeez Soneye, Idris Abogunloko, and Muyiwa Olaniyi. Others are Toheed Oladimeji, Joseph Akanni, Lukumon Olusegun, and Abiodun Agbeniyi. The case was adjourned until April 6 for a determination of their bail. However, Obasi, in the statement, said that Nigerian students would not accept further detention of the students. “After a painstaking review of the circumstances surrounding the ruling, we have resolved to demand and hereby demand the unconditional release of these students within 24 hours. “Consequently, we make bold to state that if at the expiration of our 24 hours ultimatum, these innocent students are not released without strings, we shall relocate the headquarters of NANS to Kirikiri in solidarity with our members. “We also hope that the authorities would use the opportunity of the 24 hours ultimatum to either expand the facilities of Kirikiri prison or release our colleagues, as they can see we are serious and determined by offering them a fair choice.” Obasi said that the court should have warned the students instead of sending them to prison for a mere protest. “In other climes what the court should have done was to certify that the suspects are bona-fide students and release them to their school authorities or student leaders. “ But rather than factor in the extenuating circumstances of their protest, the court hurriedly blunted the proper socialisation of 13 Nigerian leaders of tomorrow,” he said. Premium Times reported on Sunday that the management of Television Continental (TVC) disputed police claim that the jailed 13 students of the University of Lagos carried out an unlawful invasion of the television facility at the Ikosi neighbourhood of Lagos. “The Management of Continental Broadcasting Service Limited (owners of TVC) refutes these stories and categorically states that TVC has no hand in the arrest of the students. “TVC did not at any point report or lodge any complaint at the police station,” remarked Abisola Agbaje, the legal manager of TVC in a press release in Lagos. Ms. Agbaje said, “Truly, the Students came into our premises on Friday the 31st of March, 2017 on or about3 p.m. to protest the “alleged rustication by UNILAG”. “The protest was peaceful which we have on record and the students left our premises peacefully.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/04/jailed-unilag-students-nans-gives-24-hour-ultimatum/ |

Olakunle Churchill, the estranged husband of Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh, says his wife is unstoppable when under the influence of alcohol and drugs. In an interview with Azuka Ogujiuba of Media Room Hub, the businessman gave his own account of the Ghana incident which was brought to light by Dikeh. The actress had recently revealed, also to Ogujiuba, that she once fled to the Nigerian embassy in Ghana to avoid his domestic abuse. But the Ghana police had subsequently come out to debunk her claims, saying that she was the violent person in the situation. Speaking in the same vein, Churchill recounted: “I picked her up from the airport just a day before. We had a misunderstanding so she decided to move to the hotel. She came the next morning and I was not even home and I sent her a text that I went for a friend’s housewarming party. “I heard she came around 3, 4am and started breaking down everything. Luckily for me, I switched off the electric fence before I left the house. She pulled down the fence and jumped into the compound. “There’s this thing about my wife. I’m sorry about this but I have to say it. “She gets too temperamental due to negative intake – alcohol and marijuana, anything that has something to do with drugs. When her anger starts, six men can’t hold Tonto down talkless of me beating her. “She destroyed everything in the house. The police people could not stop her. After I paid for her bail from police cell, she promised never to go back to drugs or alcohol. Three weeks after this incident, she was pregnant.” Churchill further said he desperately wanted to see his son, especially on his birthday but the actress frustrated his attempts. He also denied being a wife beater, saying he has never done anything like that in his life. Churchill said 95% of Dikeh’s allegations against him were lies just as he also denied giving her a sexually transmitted disease. He said: “I am not a woman beater. I have never done that in my life and I will never beat any woman. Everything I watched her say was 95% lies. The only truth she said was that ‘I loved my husband’. “They were all lies. STDs! Not this millennium. The last time I had STDs was in secondary school. At this stage of my life, STDS? “I don’t know what she wants. I think she’s trying to stay out of marriage. I was not even around when she moved out of my house. She came with two trucks and moved everything. She got another house and till date, I don’t even know where she stays.” Source: African News Magazine |

I ate 3 plates of beans (which I know I shouldn't).When I got to my fiance's place for dinner, he seemed excited to see me and exclaimed delightedly "Darling I have a surprise for you tonight."He then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinning table. I took a seat and just as he was about to remove my blindfold, the telephone rang.He made me promise not to touch the blind fold until he returned and went to answer the call. The beans I had consumed was still affecting me and the pressure was becoming unbearable, so while myfiance was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my weight to one leg and letone go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like afertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a garbage dump! I took my napkin from my lap and fanned the air around me vigorously. Then, shifting to the other leg, I ripped off three more. The stink was worse than cooked cabbage.Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room,I went on releasing atomic bombs like this for another few minutes. The preasure was indescribable! Eventually the telephone farewells signalled the end of my freedom, so Iquickly fanned the air a few more times with my napkin, placed it on my lap and folded my handsback on it feeling very relieved and pleased withmyself. My face must have been the picture of innocencewhen my fiance returned, apologising for takingso long. He asked me if Ihad peeped through the blindfold, and I assuredhim I had not.At this point, he removed the blindfold. To my utmost surprise, twelve dinner guests includinghis Mum and Dad were seated around the table, with hand holding their noses.....If you were in her shoes, what would you do?Laugh wan kill me |

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, paid a visit to the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, in his palace in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State on Friday. This visit is coming on the heels of his historic visit to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi. He arrived the palace around 1:14pm with a retinue of chiefs from Ile-Ife and was welcomed to the palace by Oba Adetona and numerous traditional rulers in Ijebuland. The Ooni’s visit is believed to be in line with his crusade of promoting unity among Yoruba traditional rulers. Details later… |

Admin pls let this post grace the front page I beg. I have houses in at least 188 countries in the world, so I am richer than Bill Gates.” (Adeboye). Recently, a friend took me to the jewel-in-the-crown of the Redeemed Christian Church of God; a glitzy parish called “City of David” in Victoria Island, Lagos. Displayed resplendently on a wall in the church-office is a design of their current building project; a 14 storey architectural extravaganza titled “Trinity Towers.” Is Redeemed still a church or is it now essentially a business concern? The Trinity Towers project shows the lines are now totally blurred. Jesus warns: “No one can serve two masters. You cannot serve both God and Money.” (Matthew 6:24). Nevertheless, this Tower of Babylon being built with church funds is designed both for the worship of God and for the worship of money. The project is an appeal to crass commercialism; a blatant celebration of wealth. In this poverty-stricken Nigeria, the foundation of the building alone is expected to cost over 2 billion naira. Side-by-side with a 5,000 seat auditorium for church services are high-brow restaurants, cafeterias, indoor swimming pools, cinema halls, gymnasiums, retail shops, games arcades, lawn tennis courts, relaxation spots, and a helipad as the crowning glory. Of what relevance is all this “supermarket” in a church? Anointing for carnality A church-member, overwhelmed by the grandeur of it all, buttonholed me in the hallway. I did not know him from Adam, nevertheless, he held me hostage as he waxed lyrical about how the Redeemed Church was, to use his words: “taking over.” “We have already got the vice- presidency,” he said. (The vice-president of Nigeria is now a Redeemed pastor). “Next we will get the presidency,” he continued; “and then we will get DSTV;” (a South African satellite television network). The anointing for this pride of life flows right from the top. The General Overseer of the Redeemed Church is Pastor Adeboye. A few years ago, he decided he needed a billion naira without which his “work of God” could not be done. So he confounded the Christian faith by establishing a “millionaire’s club.” To be a member, you had to hand over a million naira to him in Jesus’ name. Thereafter, he upped the ante by calling for a “billionaire’s club.” He announced that he would be building an auditorium that can only be described as “fantabulous.” It would be a ginormous three kilometers in length and three kilometers in breadth. This project is clearly more designed to get Adeboye into the Guinness Book of World Records than it is to get the members of Redeemed into the kingdom of God. Declared Adeboye on that occasion: “We need 1 billion naira from ten people. If you are one of them, please see my personal Secretary after we finish today.” Who are those likely to have this kind of money to give in the Nigeria of today except those who have cornered public funds? Thereafter, an announcer sought to know the members of the church who were “willing to join hands with our Father in the Lord to build a new auditorium to God’s glory.” Vanity upon vanity The proposed auditorium is not to the glory of God. The proposed auditorium is to the glory of Adeboye. Adeboye’s project is reminiscent of Saul’s, who built a monument to himself. (1 Samuel 15:12). Nowhere in the entire New Testament was money ever collected for putting up a building. Money was only collected for the poor. The temple of God is no longer a physical building. The temple of God is now Jesus Christ. Pastor Adeboye is getting increasingly carried away by vanity. I have a tape of a question-and-answer session he had with his church-workers a number of years ago in which he boasted that the time would soon come when, before anybody could aspire to be president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he would first have to talk to Redeemed Church. Nothing in the scriptures can be construed as suggesting this as one of the stated objectives of Jesus Christ. A Redeemed church-member told me of another meeting he attended captioned: “A Day Out with the G.O.” It was a dinner for financial sponsors of one of the annual “Holy Ghost Festivals.” Pastor Adeboye boasted tongue-in-cheek on that occasion that the time would soon come when the Queen of England would plead to join Redeemed in order to work as an usherette. The audience reportedly responded with wild applause and shouts of “Amen.” Richer than Bill Gates At the just-concluded 63rd Annual Convention of the Redeemed Church, Adeboye declared that he is now richer than Bill Gates; widely acknowledged as the richest man in the world. He said: “I have houses in at least 188 countries in the world, where we have our churches, so I am richer than Bill Gates. Each time I visit these countries, my children would be struggling and saying daddy, come and stay with me.” These “houses” don’t belong to Adeboye; they belong to Redeemed church. Knowingly or unknowingly, Adeboye distorts the gospel. Jesus says: “All who have given up home or brothers and sisters or father and mother or children or land for me will be given a hundred times as much. They will also have eternal life.” (Matthew 19:29). However, Jesus words are spirit. (John 6:63). Therefore, his “houses” are entirely spiritual, while Adeboye’s are physical. Jesus does not make his disciples richer than Bill Gates. Instead, he says: “God will bless you people who are poor. His kingdom belongs to you! But you rich people are in for trouble. You have already had an easy life!” (Luke 6:20/24). Adeboye continued: “If I announce here that tomorrow morning, I need a car to travel to the new auditorium, how many cars do you think would be made available to me by you my children? Those of you that do not have a car of your own, very soon, God will give you your own cars. So, I am appealing to you to become an incurable soul winner before you leave this convention ground and your cup will overflow.” Anathema to Christ This is nothing but the enticing word of man’s wisdom. Believers don’t preach the gospel in order to receive cars. We do because God commands that we do so. Jesus had neither chariots nor horses. He had no lands and houses. Indeed, he warned a prospective disciple who wanted to follow him they would not be staying at the “Sheraton Hotel:” “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” (Matthew 8:20). Jesus does not speak like Adeboye. He says: “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master.” (Matthew 10:24-25). Jesus’ example is anathema to Adeboye’s declaration that he is now the richest man in the world. This is the word of Jesus the Adeboyes of this age choose to ignore: “It’s terribly hard for rich people to get into the kingdom of heaven! In fact, it’s easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into God’s kingdom.” (Matthew 19:23-24). source: http://www.gossipmill.com/2015/08/pastor-adeboye-the-richest-man-in-the-world-is-redeemed-still-a-church-or-is-it-now-essentially-a-business/ |
