Business / Re: New Monetary Policy Pulls Out N744bn From Circulation by DivaFiva: 7:55am On Mar 31, 2016

Make I no form wetin I no know.

How does this affect Nigerians on the street? Someone should please try and explain.
This would reduce the amount of money in circulation, although prices will fall by a relatively small percentage, the productivity of economy is bound to reduce...this will cause supply of goods to fall because people are not producing as much as they could have with easier accessibility to loans. It could reverse the early effect of the reduced money in circulation and hike prices for certain goods especially goods that are imported or made with imported materials. As you are aware, that means everything!

The increased bank reserve will reduce funds available for loans. While this could be an attempt to reduce the supply of money to control inflation, it would mean less business start ups and more unemployment and higher interest rates.

Basically, we are fvcked!

My humble observation is that an average Nigerian is happy, funny and sacartic as it might sound, but that's just the truth,Why because admist the huddles of politcal, economic or security problems an average Nigerian faces daily,An average Nigerian will surely look for a way to give him/herself JOY.

If we tell ourselves the truth, a lot of us are angry and bitter for the same reasons you stated.
Hell, some of us are depressed and suicidal.

I'm just saying.

Okay...
I'm a Christain but I am in support of legalizing abortion because the moral position/ decision is the pregnant lady and her partner's to make not mine or the governments.
I'm a Nigerian girl who can say that I NEVER ask guys I date for money. Unless I don't like him and of course we are not dating tongue grin
I'm almost 23 and I still can't have sex with a guy I just met and this is not for religious reasons.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be with a Yoruba man and this is not me following trends. I really love the culture and I think they are hella cute p kiss

Add yours!

Culture / Hour Of Truth: Our Typical Is The "Average" Nigerian? by DivaFiva: 6:28am On Mar 31, 2016
Nigerians span a very broad spectrum in all aspects to life.

I remember growing up and visiting Nairaland for advice and knowledge about certain things I was yet to experience.
I remember thinking some people were crazy to think the way they did but now I know better.

1. People are inherently different.
2. They have reasons for their stand or worldview.
3. They don't know any different or any better.

A lot of have limited view on what goes on in our world and that affects our definition of what should be considered "normal".

So this thread is for us to post about our unpopular family structure, cultural identity our personal interpretation of our religion that would supposedly shock a majority of Nigerians also known as "average" Nigerian. This is an attempt to make people understand that there is no "typical" Nigerian. No one person/group represents us or even our tribes.

Maybe this will clear things up for some of us.

While Nairaland is great for recycling news and creating awareness for issues, I think it is also useful for ideology reformation.

Sometimes it's not just about the money.
To be rich is not a day's job. Except you won a lottery or inherited some mula grin grin
Anyways, It usually signals he is independent, ready to settle and find a potential partner, usually educated or street smart, etc
With money comes a certain aura of confidence. These are attractive.
And of course. possibility of an upgrade cool cool cheesy

prem love: so what is wrong declaring free tertiary education
A lot. Though the idea is good buh how long can it be sustained?? Knowing how we do things in Nigeria, it will amount to subjective qualifications like connections instead of an objective factor like your grade score. Remember maintainance costs money.
