Literature › Men Are Frustrated ( A Story About You) by Divepen1(mod):
Nature was interested in her and she hated that such would happen that day. Nature gave her time to cry out without anybody to hear her cry. She watched the rain pouring and wished it were in human form, especially a man. So that she would have the chance to slap its face for disrupting her plan. She hissed again. And luckily for her or should she regard it as unfortunately, her phone had dropped into the drainage on her way. So, there was no way she could call any of her friends. There was no way she could get her phone back again. She hissed and felt betrayed by life.
‘You are mad!’ She shouted. The rain, like a deaf singer, ranted on, hitting as many ceiling it could. She burst into tears.’ You should rained to stop that slowpoke from coming. You should have hinted me.’
She felt as though she had swallowed a whole bag of cement, the taste sort of lingered on her tongue. What could be more? There she was, at the edge of her life, she felt a raw injury was opened within her. She gave him her life. She did. She sowed into the relationship. And she was so blinded by securing a better future in his life that she gave up everything. And was blind to the fact that he had not even sacrificed anything into the relationship. Though she had watched movies and had read so many books about such thing like this she never expected it. But none of the prior knowledge hinted that he would ever leave her.
The stupid boy left her for another girl. She would revenge. Yes, she would. She wouldn’t revenge on him. He was too dear to her. He was just too dear to her. She had to let the pain be redirected towards someone else. And that person she didn’t know.
She cried. Her wail was swallowed in the noise of the heavy rain as though it was a stick sweet in the mouth of a little girl. Her pain was fanned by the wind of the house she sat in. They must be sleeping together now. Her boyfriend had another girl inside. The foolish boy was kissing her when she entered the room. He looked at her and smiled. He said ‘hi’ and returned to kissing her.
As the rain subsided, she rose from her seat. Men everywhere were in trouble, she would so edge them on. They would love her. Yes, she would make them do. They would pay for what Olumide had done to her. She would remain a virgin for a long time but men would all be in need of her. Tears streamed down her eyes.
The problem is nobody knew her even today. She might be sitting beside you. There’s pain from a previous relationship and she’s not ready for one. But you didn’t know, right? She might be that girl opposite you. Or who knows that beautiful multi-coloured girl you are staring at.
I know you didn’t know. That’s why I’m telling you now because tomorrow you’ll sit in a corner and will wait for her to come out of her place of work. You’ll admire her long pink gown. You’ll feel joy at the presence of the aura around her. You’ll see an angel emerging from the office and will so much desire to marry her. Then you’ll struggle to be her husband. You will so much time keeping away from other girls because of her. She’ll lie to you that she’s ready for a relationship.
You’ll remove every lady from your friend list. I mean you’ll tell them how you found the love of your heart. The pure love, the one you have been praying for. They will feel jilted. They had just seen you kissing her.
‘But I love you’, One of the girls, let’s say, Martha, will say.’ I do love you. And you alone’.
‘But I don’t. And don’t you know

INT. OFFICE RECEPTION. EVENING
LARA (35) is seating at the receptionist’s cubicle with a tag on her table that reads “kindly make all your enquiries here”. She is conversing with someone over the phone. Her food pack is on the
right side of the table. She has the TV remote
control in her hand, a Nigerian movie is being
shown on the television. She is chewing a piece of
meat in her mouth as she is also engrossed in the
conversation.
LARA
I already told her, until she leaves that church I
don’t see an end coming to her pro… You married
a husband who has no job, as if that is not enough
you are now attending a church where your
pastor who is 68 years old has no child, how
do you think he will pray for you to have a child?
She pauses to get a response from the other end
of the phone. Femi, a young man walks in, looking
very exhausted with a small sheet of paper in his
hand. He wipes off the sweat on his face with his
sleeves. He takes a glance at the sheet of paper
then takes a looks at the name of the company
boldly written on the insignia hung on the wall, he
walks towards Lara, taking a bow with his head as
a form of greeting. Lara stares at him from head to
toe, his appearance does not look impressive or
choice.
She signals to him with her left hand to hold on
while she continues with her conversation. Femi
attempts to speak but Lara repeats the signal
again. Femi waits right there standing in front of
Lara’s desk, hoping that Lara’s conversation will
end soon. Lara continues to chew on her meat.
LARA (CONT’D)
Since we all left school, no progress in her life.
There is so much of bad luck following that so
called husband of hers… really? Is that his new lie?
He can never get a job. Until I see him working
with my two eyes and paying bills at home, I will
never believe he… ah you know you believe things
so easily. So, have you heard from Leye? Is he still
dating that Nike girl?
She makes a long hiss to depict hopelessness on
the matter.
LARA (CONT’D)
Nike has cast a spell on him, how can a lady tell
you her two sibling died of sickle cell and she is
AS, and you still want to go ahead and marry her…
ehen? Even if he is AA nko? AS and AA, there is
still “S” there so they can have SS child o… ehen?
So they can’t have SS child that way? Are you
sure? Anyway you work in the hospital… me I sha
don’t like Nike, she’s even slim like an ogbanje…
her tinny legs like that of Miss Pepeye
She bursts out into laughter,
LARA (CONT’D)
Yes now, she wears skinny trouser like a prostitute
She hisses in disgust. At this point, Femi walks to
where the seats are to take a seat, he seems
restless as he checks the time on his phone
which is bonded with a rubber band. Lara glances
at him as he goes to take his seat and quickly
takes her eyes off him.
LARA (CONT’D)
All I know is whatever we all sow we will… Muyiwa
leave me jare, all you men are the same, show me
a man who does not cheat and I will show you a
first class liar. I lived with Lanre for fourteen years
still he went about chasing after tiny legged girls
and me I don’t have patience, before he could
say “Jack” I’ve packed my… So you are saying
your wife left just because she doesn’t want to
relocate to Nigeria with you? I don’t believe
that Femi’s phone rings, he goes out to receive
the call.
Lara stretches her neck to peep at him and see
what he is up to, pulling the land line closer so
she can see him clearly.
LARA (CONT’D)
I have a visitor jare, he resembles all this aboki
selling suya, he has been so impatient, ah I told
him to wait, I will attend to him, nobody can even
do any shakara for me in this office. They never
pay me my three months salary so I will work at
my own pace… my battery is flat, we’ve been
talking for more than an hour… She is fine o, she
is back from school so I sent her to the market,
she should even be back any moment from now.
Amen ooo, all of them will give us great delight.
Her brother is writing his WAEC next month, I
am getting relieved gradually…
Femi walks in and approaches Lara’s desk
impatiently, looking worried
FEMI
Madam…
LARA
So we will talk later jare
Turns her revolving chair towards Femi, staring at
him rudely
LARA
So how may I help you?
FEMI
My name is Femi, an accident occurred close to
Azizat Market some hours ago involving a young
girl and a taxi, the taxi did not wait after the
collision so I took the girl who was lying
there helplessly, to the hospital, there was no way
we could recognize her, she
wasn’t speaking. On my way home to go change
my shirt because it was stained with blood, I saw
this piece of paper in my back seat with this
company’s letter head so I thought someone here
might know her
He dips his hand into his pocket to bring out the
sheet of paper. Written on it is the list of things to
buy from the market. Lara quickly snatches it from
his hand trembling as she recognizes her own
handwriting on the paper, she is
shaking uncontrollably.
LARA
Yeh! Yeh! She’s my daughter
FEMI
We need to hurry now, I just got a call from the
hospital that my attention is needed
LARA
Ah! You should have told me… you should have…
yeh
THE END
Ogbanje – a child believed to repeatedly die and
then return to its mother to be reborn
Miss Pepeye – a character in the Wale Adenuga’s
Papa Ajasco comedy who tries to create the
impression that she is classic but is truly not. She
is simply plastic

Inspiration is very often the result of
habit, of getting into a rhythm of work,
and of setting yourself goals of how
much and about what you wish to write
each day. Oddly enough, the
determination that you will finish a
particular piece of work is a great source
of inspiration. So set yourself a realistic
goal each time you sit down to write.
Find out how much you are comfortable
writing each day. Achieve that. Then
extend it and try to double your output.
Remember: decide where you’re going
before you set out. If you end up
somewhere else, simply ask: do you
mind? It might be a good thing to have
strayed from the path. Assess this once
the work is done.
Don’t wait until you have the perfect first
line. In practice, it often transpires that
perfect first lines no longer fit with the
story once it’s written out. Instead, try to
think of your opening line as being
simply like a doorway that you must pass
through to get into the ‘room’ of your
story. The doorway is much less
important than what’s inside the room –
focus on that. If you find yourself ‘seeing
the whole story at once’, and you’re
unsure where to begin, concentrate on
one particular detail and start there.
Example: You want to write about a
young man and his girlfriend. He’s just
realised he’s in love with her, and is
going to say so, but you think that having
him just saying ‘I love you’ will sound a
bit flat. So, think about how else you
could approach it. You could:
begin with him trying to decide
which shirt to wear
begin when he’s stuck in
conversation with someone else,
and can’t get away. He has
something important to say, and yet
a friend is talking to him about
football
begin after the actual moment of
him telling her ‘I love you’
tell it from someone else’s point of
view – for example, one of the
boy’s friends, overhearing him, or
the girlfriend herself.
In this way, focusing on an apparently
‘irrelevant’ detail might be the perfect
way in to your story:
a plane flying overhead as he
speaks, drowning out his words
a piece of lettuce stuck between
her teeth that makes him smile
a gang of schoolchildren who loiter
close by, making him self-
conscious.
Peripheral details like this can have the
effect of making the scene seem more
believable: real life is full of such details
and delays, obstructions to the main
story unfolding.
If you’re still unsure about how to begin,
surprise yourself – approach your story
from a different angle. Or surprise your
story – make a particular detail appear
distinctive. Or start your story randomly,
at a point that you don’t think is
important. It might turn out to be crucial.
Remember: once you’ve reached the end,
you can always go back and ‘add on’ or
improve your beginning.

Romance › If Mothers Taught Men These, We Would Have Fewer Marital Problems. by Divepen1(op): 1:43pm On Jan 16, 2016
I have a problem with the way we bombard ladies with fear that all men but a chosen few are bad as if na only ladies dem be dey enter relationship
If men were trained more women would have little cases of marital abuses, rape etc.
Our daughters now live in fear of tomorrow because mothers focus on them and not the boys. They teach daughters to respect the man but the guys are thought to live in honour( which is not taught right). If we learn to love like Christ then our trouble will lessen. The bible says in Ephesians 5: 21-23 says women should submit themselves to men and the reason is not far fetched when men follow the instruction to the letter they might become pompous.
When men were asked to love their wives like Jesus loved the church. It simply means we should do the following
1. Be ready to give our all. Jesus left his kingdom for the church.
2. He was to present us to God without spot or wrinkles etc So we are also to always help her live pure and connected to God.
3. Jesus forgave always, so should men.
4. Jesus taught the Church, so should men.
5. Jesus gave up his life for the church, so should men.
6. He, God, sought us out and gave his all to us, so should men.
Men are to be taught love, honour, sacrifice for their home. Anything you don't know how to do let her teach you.
Women should also teach men that women are not weaker vessels a beg. They are strong willed and determined. They give their all and best for their marriage.
Women should teach men that their wives should not be allowed to waste.
Mothers or mothers-to-be should avoid implanting the notion that men are nuisance, that men are wicked in the heart of women. They should teach their sons, brothers, nephews that women are another type of God's nature. That nature that reveals God as loving, kind, jealous.. That women are singleminnded and they give their all.
Women should teach their daughters that men are Godsent, they are loving. That men are not born to deceive, that a man should not be used as an example for men
Men are not monstrous.
Women are not promiscuous. Situation push people into wrong deeds but having love for God would help you stay firm as a better person.
Boys are not tyrants who deceive women. They are golden and needed. They God's nature.
Women should teach men more.

Today, we'll be talking about the remaining genre..
And today is
Mystery
Wikipedia defines it as a genre of fiction usually involving a mysterious death or a crime to be solved. In a closed circle of suspects, each suspect must
have a credible motive and a reasonable opportunity for committing the crime.: Most example can be found in stories of sherlock Holmes By Author Conan
Edgar Allan Poe is also a good writer of mysteries ..
Nigerian writer that does that is Larry Sun. To see more of his work visit www.Nigerianwritershub.com

Mystery fiction may involve a supernatural
mystery where the solution does not have to be
logical, and even no crime involved. This usage
was common in the pulp magazines of the
1930s and 1940s, where titles such as Dime
Mystery , Thrilling Mystery and Spicy Mystery
offered what at the time were described as
" weird menace" stories—supernatural horror in
the vein of Grand Guignol. Many mysteries leave one debating within one self how one did not see something or so happening
: .now can you give examples of films you've seen or books you've read that are mysteries.
