Education / You Can Be A Professional Nurse In Nigeria If You Follow These Simple Steps by divinechildparr: 11:39pm On Jul 21, 2020
How To Become A Nurse In Nigeria

One of the most lucrative and exciting professions around the world today is nursing.

And a lot of people don't know the ways, the how or the steps for becoming a nurse in Nigeria today.

So, in this article, I will be explaining to you the ways/steps in which you can become a nurse in Nigeria.

There are basically two ways to become to nurse in Nigeria. It's either you go through a school of nursing or you go through a university.

If you go through a school of nursing, in an average of 3years, you become a nurse.

However, if you go through university, it takes five years for you to become a nurse.

But then, you may want to know the difference between both routes.

Because just like you, I saw no reason why anyone will spend 5years in the university when they can just spend 3years maximum in the school of nursing.

Well, there is a bit difference between both.

I will advise you to read the types of nursing degrees in Nigeria so you can make a very informed decision.

Also, I want you to know that if you go through a nursing school also known as school of nursing, you become an RN, RM etc

But at the university, you get awarded with BSN.

You can read the differences between the different nursing degrees in Nigeria.

For some days now, we have been receiving questions from aspirants/students who are very concerned and bewildered about the best choice to make between a school of nursing and a university.

Have you ever found yourself in that situation trying to decide on which to start your musing career?

Well, after reading this article, you will be cleared on how to make a professions decision.

Furthermore, there are different types of nursing professions but in this post, we are not going to go into such details.

However, if you care to know about the 25 types of the nursing profession, click here.

What are the types of nursing degrees? There are different types of the nursing profession that Nigeria aspirants/students are not aware of.

But like I said above, we will be going off cause if we try to explain all the different types of nursing.

Though, I did give a link to where you can get the types of nursing profession above.

Nonetheless, in Nigeria, we have often heard of auxiliary nurses. But who are auxiliary nurses? What are the roles of auxiliary nurses in a medical environment?

Auxiliary nurses are basically healthcare assistants.

An auxiliary nurse works closely with healthcare professionals, helping to provide patients with a high standard of care.

Now let's look at the requirements for becoming a nurse Nigeria.

Requirements For Becoming a Nurse in Nigeria

The truth is, nursing is a professional course and the degree is awarded after a professional study.

This implies that you can't be a nurse unless you have gone through the right study process.

You don't become a nurse because you feel like a nurse, you become a nurse after going through the academic requirements.

So what is really required for you to become a nurse?

The first and basic requirement you won't be asked for in a nursing school or the university is a passion for nursing.

Are you easily irritated by sick people or you don't like caring for sick people? Then nursing is not for you.

I know a friend who was studying medicine in UNIBEN and when she saw a dead body from an auto accident without head and some without legs and hands, she collapsed out of shock.

When she woke up, she had to take JAMB form again to study another course.

As at the time of writing this article, she is studying medical laboratory now.

I will advise you to check out these two articles, how to choose a course to study and the factors to consider before you choose a course to study.

In those articles, it was carefully explained the factors you should know before choosing a course of study.

The basic requirements for you to become a nurse is either you go through a nursing school or go through a university.

Then, what are the subjects one must study to become a nurse?

Let's see below.

The subjects needed to study nursing in Nigeria are the basic science subject requirements.

And it is very important you know the subjects you have to take to be able to study nursing in Nigeria.

Just like the character of a lot of students in secondary schools, they really love some professions but don't like the subjects required of them to study those courses.

Well, it happens.

However, there is this life long question by aspirants about if mathematics is necessary for nursing students, well, it is very important.

If you must study medicine or nursing, you need to get at least a credit in mathematics.

Now let's consider the subject combination for nursing below:

Forgiveness Is Imperative
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven (Matthew 18:21-22).

Forgiving others of their wrong isn’t an option for a child of God. If you ever have an issue with anyone, whether your brothers and sisters in the Lord, or with outsiders, don’t let it go beyond that day. The Bible says, “…Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath” (Ephesians 4:26).

But what if you forgive them and they wrong you again the next day? You’ll have to forgive again. That’s what we read in our opening scripture. Jesus said we’re to forgive others “seventy times seven” times, in response to Peter’s question. That number symbolizes boundlessness. And these things were written for our learning, for our admonition. In essence, Jesus was saying, “Forgive, no matter how many times someone offends you,” because you have enough capacity to forgive.

If Christ Jesus forgave you, why should there be anything too much for you to forgive? The Bible says, “Put up with each other, and forgive anyone who does you wrong, just as Christ has forgiven you” (Colossians 3:13 CEV). Someone may say, “I’ll never forgive so- and-so, because what he did was so terrible”; no! Not when you’re born again. We have the nature of God to forgive. This is why forgiveness is imperative; it’s not a piece of advice. You must always forgive, and quickly too. Let God’s love in your heart flow through you lavishly.

CONFESSION:
The love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit; that love mantles my heart and mind, causing me to see others as God sees them. There’s no one and there’s no wrong I can’t forgive. I have the capacity to absolve others of their faults, and demonstrate the God-nature in me; the nature of love, through my words and actions, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY:
Mark 11:25; And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

1 Peter 4:8 CEV; Most important of all, you must sincerely love each other, because love wipes away many sins.

Ephesians 4:32; And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

Career / Geologists Salary In Nigeria by divinechildparr: 9:28am On Feb 22, 2020
Hello guys,
you may want to check the article below:
https://highfaculty.com/geologists-salary-in-nigeria/

Geologists Salary in Nigeria 2020: In this post, we will be discussing the salary of geologists in Nigeria. Though, we will try not to restrict this article to just the salary as we'll be defining and partly talking about what geologists are and what they do.

Definition of Geology:

Geology is the study of the Earth, the materials of which it is made, the structure of those materials, and the processes acting upon them.

It includes the study of organisms that have inhabited our planet. An important part of geology is the study of how Earth's materials, structures, processes, and organisms have changed over time.

Geology is a very important profession that helps predict the future through the study of events in the past.

What Does a Geologist Do?

Just like many individuals, you may have asked the very question above, well, in simple terms, Geologists work to understand the history of our planet.

The better they can understand Earth’s history, the better they can foresee how events and processes of the past might influence the future. Here are some examples:

Geologists study Earth processes:   Many processes such as landslides, earthquakes, floods, and volcanic eruptions can be hazardous to people.

Geologists work to understand these processes well enough to avoid building important structures where they might be damaged.

If geologists can prepare maps of areas that have flooded in the past, they can prepare maps of areas that might be flooded in the future.

These maps can be used to guide the development of communities and determine where flood protection or flood insurance is needed.

Geologists study Earth materials:   People use Earth materials every day. They use oil that is produced from wells, metals that are produced from mines, and water that has been drawn from streams or from underground.

Geologists conduct studies that locate rocks that contain important metals, plan the mines that produce them and the methods used to remove the metals from the rocks.

They do similar work to locate and produce oil, natural gas, and groundwater.

Geologists study Earth history:   Today we are concerned about climate change. Many geologists are working to learn about the past climates of Earth and how they have changed across time.

This historical geology news information is valuable to understand how our current climate is changing and what the results might be.

Geology is undoubtedly one of the most interesting and adventurous fields in physical sciences. Apart from the fact that they command so much huge respect in the oil and gas sector where they are highly useful, they are rated among the high paying professions in Nigeria today.

Geologists, just like petroleum engineers and exploration science courses, are regarded as a gold mine when it comes to career paths and opportunities.

Although the opportunities for Geologists have reduced in recent times, they still rank top among the most successful careers in terms of job opportunities and placement.

Geologists’ Salaries in Nigeria: How Much Do Geologists Earn in Nigeria?

Have you been wondering how much geologists earn in Nigeria? Great! This post answers your questions. In this article, we will take a look at how much geologists earn in several industries.

Salaries of geologists vary per company, job specification, and industry. Generally, geology is among the highest paying profession in physical sciences and those that work in oil firms earn only a little less than petroleum engineers.

In fact, some even earn more in certain positions and job specifications. In the mining industry, geologists are also relatively well paid compared to some other fields.

They also rank highly in borehole industries and other similar areas. Here, we will consider how much geologists are paid in certain industries.

Geologists in Oil and Gas Industries

This is arguably the most popular industry geologists work in Nigeria, though it is not so for many developed countries.

As expected, the industry is also among the top-paying field in Nigeria. Although opportunities are becoming for geologists in the industry, they still remain a core part of the exploration process. For entry-level, geologists are paid between N250, 000 – N500, 000 depending on the job specification, company, rank and some other similar factors.

Geologists in Mining Industries

This is another industry that appreciate the importance of geologists. Salaries of geologists in the mining industry vary per the job description, company and sometimes, location.

This industry is usually a backup option in case oil and gas opportunities don’t come by.  Although there is a considerable difference in salary compared to the oil and gas industry, mining companies pay significant amounts to their geologists.

For a start, geologists in the mining industry earn between N150, 000 – N300, 000.

Geologists in Borehole Industries

Most of today’s geologists in Nigeria settle for this industry. This industry offers the most opportunity for geologists in Nigeria today.

Although the pay is significantly low compared to that of other industries, lots of young geologists tend to start their careers from this industry.

For a start, the borehole industry pays between N80, 000 – N180, 000 to their entry-level geologists. This depends on the company, level of experience and other similar factors.

On average, geologists in Nigeria earn between N120, 000 – N500, 000 for a start. To be highly rated or have better placement as a geologist in various industries, it is always advisable to add relevant professional certifications to your bachelor’s degree. Thanks.

Education / Reasons Why Jamb Result May Not Be Cancelled by divinechildparr: 7:03pm On May 04, 2019
There has been so much tension amongst jamb candidates for the just concluded Jamb exam and why the results have not been released.

Over the years, Jamb results are usually released a few days after writing the jamb exam but this year has been different and jamb students have been really worried because they are not sure what may be the outcome.

Just yesterday, I was briefed by a friend whose name I will withhold for security reasons that Jamb results maybe not be released and jamb exam maybe be cancelled.

It is generally believed by so many persons that jamb exam will be re-written. Although, there has been news from different sources that jamb has denied such speculations. As ridiculous as that may sound, it’s the belief of so many candidates right now.

It’s normal for so many tension and speculations to arise due to the un-profound delay of releasing jamb result.

WHY JAMB SERVER MAY HAVE CRASHED
According to the news published by Concise News Report, “there have been reports that the JAMB server has crashed and those a need for another UTME. However, JAMB has said such reports are fake as results of candidates are still intact.

Speaking on recently, JAMB Head, Media and Information, Fabian Benjamin, said the reports are not only wicked but fraudulent.

”We want to distance ourselves from such malicious and wicked rumours by fraudulent persons, as there is no truth in them,” he told NAN.

”We did not issue any press statement concerning crashing of the server. All these are antics of desperate persons trying to cause panic and confusion among candidates and the general public.

”We are not going to succumb to such rumours as we remain focused on ensuring that we achieve what we have set out to do.

”After the examination, the board embarked on screening to determine any form of examination malpractice and infractions by both candidates and examination centres. This is what has been delaying the release of the results.”

Though to every rumour, there is every element of truth. I don’t think there is any Jamb Examination over the years where malpractice has not been recorded.

But withholding the whole results for weeks on the basis of checking for malpractice is quite opprobrious.

Honestly speaking, if jamb is checking the CCTV Cameras for malpractice, what about the students or centres whose own has been checked and found to be free from malpractice? At least, the results can be released in batches.

Well, not until jamb release an official statement, we will stick with the fact that the results will be released soon and that the results are being screened.

WHY JAMB EXAM MAY NOT BE RE-WRITTEN
If it were true that jamb server has been compromised, then, the jamb examination will be re-written.

Otherwise, it will be released and as usual. If Jamb Exam was to be cancelled, I think Jamb should have done it a long time ago.

Probably, the reason while the result has not been released could have lots of logistical backings but I don’t think any of such includes cancellation of the just concluded jamb examination.

There were many speculations that Jamb result would be released on the 29th of April but wasn’t. The reason for such has still not been cleared but Jamb has not said anything about the cancellation of the exam.

For now, everyone should keep a positive attitude and a good mindset time the jamb result is released.

Education / How To Prepare For Any Examination Effectively by divinechildparr: 11:18pm On Feb 04, 2019
In writing or preparing to write an examination, some students have often asked if they need to read 24/7 or just need to read like an hour or two a day, but my response is always direct, “It depends on you.” Because of the persistent questions of students, we have put together vital qualities a student should possess to actually pass any examination in flying colours.

1) DISCIPLINE
This is just one of the major problems of students(Exam Candidates). According to the way Oxford dictionary puts it, “The practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behaviour practice,” this, however, shows that many students are not well disciplined.
Some persons will say, I want to read now and just there and then, a friend of theirs will come and ask them to stroll out, boom!!! they will leave what they are supposed to read and go out with this friend, this is just a result of lack of discipline. To be really successful, you must be disciplined enough to make strident decisions. Make a decision and be poised and passionate a keeping to it.

2) DETERMINATION
This is a driving force that should always keep you ahead. If you are not very determined or committed to your own success, nothing and no one will. Every now and then, students lose focus of the reason why they want to pass the examination. If the very purpose of you passing the examination/jamb Examination stays afresh in your heart, you will always be determined.

Education / Why ASUU Is On Strike? by divinechildparr: 7:57am On Feb 04, 2019
ASUU and its demands from the FG. As the saying goes, “when the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable.” It is quite alarming that the majority of Nigeria Students doesn’t know what ASUU stands for and why they went on strike. This has become a matter of urgent concerns and the reason needs to be disseminated as succinct as possible.

The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) is a body that was formed in 1978, a successor to the Nigerian Association of University Teachers formed in 1965 and supposedly to cover academic staff in all the Federal and State Universities in the country. In the era of military dictatorship in Nigeria, the freedom of citizens where greatly eroded and Academic freedom and university autonomy were not left out because the then government didn’t really care about the education of its citizens and renege in its duty.
