I really want to partner with a comic drawer or developer on creating a business comic.

I'm a web developer and an entrepreneur.... I know the right spots to hit to make this project a success upon knowing the negative energies surrounding the making and success of a comic book....

Whoever is interested can chat up here so we align business.

Booshman:
Hello there,

I didn't know what section to put this topic in, because there isn't a comics section. But I digress. I am wondering if comics and comic books have ever had a place in the lives of Nigerians.

If so, what are the most popular ones?

If not, why is it?

- Lack of access?
- Lack of overall interest in the concept? (It's "silly."wink
- Lack of cultural representation?

If it's the last one, would Nigerians be interested in a comic that took place in a fantasy world that included their various cultures? Like how Marvel includes many aspects of American culture. For example, the X-Men and mutants as a whole are a blatant (and admitted, by the creator) homeage to the Black Civil Rights Movement. With Charles Xavier's peaceful approach to mutant prosperity representing MLK, and Magneto's physical approach to mutant prosperity representing Malcom X's?

But I guess I should be completely honest with you all now. I mainly ask more about the last one, because I've painstakingly studied the culture and traditions of various African groups for decades, and I've been in the process of creating a fantasy world that includes a ton mythological creatures (from various African peoples folktales), deities (mainly the Orishas), and magical versions of actual kingdoms of the past. All set on a continent that mimics Africa, in a world mimics Earth. Mainly because I've grown tired of the cliched, Eurocentric, oversaturation in fantasy. Its purpose is for entertainment, to teach life lessons, and to showcase just how horribly underrated/misudnerstood traditional African cultures are on a global scale. Would this be something that interests Nigerians?

(If you are interested and want more details, don't be afraid to ask, )
hello bro....what's up with your comic book? Hope all is well?

I have got this idea around creating a "business comic book series'... I'm very versed with so many businesses...and I also just started writing too. I'm seeking people who would be interested in translating these business ideas into a comic for kids, students, young entrepreneurs, and parents to relate to .

Yea...Writers control their World...

Even a lazy diary writer; has got more control and positive influence of his/her life than those who live a "routined" or guided life.

Reason: Your mental and physical emotions are wired to act INLINE with whatever you want to have "written" down on your diary...hence, you are always accustomed to reaching goals as writing a diary becomes an occasionally or frequently 'TASK REFLECTION' which starts by a deliberate or conscious decision-making.

Once, you are able to translate most of the things you think into imaginations, and you are able to channel your imaginations into various scenarios, the next action to take is to write them down. More often, it helps you trace back your focus especially when you have drifted from your historical pursuits - which can be thence blended with your new pursuits if need be.

Writing stuffs in YOUR OWN HANDWRITING ( whether in pen or pencils) remains the TRUE and FIRST ACTION to take to get things - especially great done.

The beginning of every great idea starts with a pen.

Show how we can activate this energy. And good explanation there

The ONLY way to Activate your Imaginations is to REFLECT on them...

And, the ONLY way to activate your REFLECTIONS is to develop internal ENERGIES ( positive or negative ) towards your REFLECTS.

The easiest way to activate ANY of these Energies( positive or negative ) within you is to "WRITE".

Johnnydon22 , Seun, Akin Alabi, Pavore9, Plattoen and so many smart nairalanders on here unconsciously, subconsciously and consciously KNOW that " WRITING" is the ACTION TRIGGER to grow and make manifest any imagination from the unconsciousness to consciousness (real life).

Coincidentally, this thread is another virtual trigger to my real existence ( who I really am?). Something I have been shying away from...

A pointer: Ask yourself this question;

Why really do I exist ?

This is a question every living individual should have answer(s) to.

And the answer(s) to the question above can not be farfetched when you answer yourself with this question :

"What is my service to humanity ?"

Now, this is becoming more confusing right?

And the answer(s) to the immediate question above can not be farfetched when you answer yourself with this question :

" What can I do to HEAL THE WORLD?"

Rings a bell right?
...Michael Jackson was totally right when he sang back in time with some other amazing musicians who saw the need for the world to be a better place when they activated their REFLECTIONS through WRITING the Lyrics and SINGING the song ' Heal The World'. ( That is their own way of helping humanity - touching the life of humanity through strings and chords of their hands and voice). No doubt, helping humanity brings about ABSOLUTE SUCCESS.

Yea, the world already is in so many problems and troubles today...how do you and I contribute to solving/reducing one or many of the problems of the world?

This simple act is what makes successful people successful - Solving problems for people ; and this makes them happy and successful.

And the ONLY way to achieve success (helping people; solving problems) is to BE REAL.

Being REAL is to practice and master the "ART of Nature"

I am presently working on a book I titled : " The School of Life - LIFE IN BRIEF"...

Once I'm done, I will be putting it up on nairaland for free.... I will be sending you personal copy if you so want one.

I believe we all live within our IMAGINATIONS...

We all live within our INDIVIDUAL IMAGINATIONS..

Our Imaginations are subconscious buildups of Matter (Beliefs & Happenings, things around us) and ENERGY (Positive or Negative ) within us.

Anything can become real....if you can imagine it, then it can manifest provided the needed Energies are activated within the imaginer.

I have not make it in life but am no more where I use to be before, at the moment I am taking care of myself with 3 kids in a comfortable apartment in the heart of Accra the capital of Ghana.

i made money by learning difficult stuff that people are looking for online and make youtube videos in a simpler form and share it on my blog for free at pauljumbo.com. The blog begins to get traffic after 4 months and i decide to sell some part of what I learned on my store pauljumbo store.

Today I make a minimum of 100$ daily using this model of sharing free contents and also help others online for free. with the money realized from my blog, I am now doing other businesses with my wife in Ghana.

if you are unemployed i will advise just learn any skill and start promoting it online don't waste time to argue in politic section of nairaland or other social platforms over politicians or entertainers. Always putting content online after some time people will notice you and money will start flowing.

Note nothing good comes quickly you can do menial job at the beginning just to survive but always pushing towards your future

Good one PaulJumbo....

My friend and I will do well to pay you a visit first in Ghana when we arrive Accra...With your post, there are loads of accompaniments we can achieve together...

It is an open secret that many people are suffering in nigeria.most graduate don't have jobs and the ones that are employed are underemployed. The ones that are skilled don't have money to open up their bussiness and these go on and on.
The significance of all these is that most of the guys Damn all the consequences and go into stealing and get killed. Most of our young girls are into runz or rather prostitution because they face harsh conditions in life.when i work the street I fell bad because I see hardship and pain all over.
But in all these I know that some people are making it,so please let's share some ideals Atleast to reduce the pain and suffering in the country.

I applaud this thread one of the best I've seen on nairaland. Reason is because this goes inline with the concept myself and my co-partner are already involved in.

We are gathering answers from people locally to ask them through questionnaires how they became millionaires.

Our survey runs online and offline... And pans through West African countries for now.

Nigeria and Benin ( Cotonou) has been settled...We hope to visit Ghana this week or next.

We also have some other exploits we are pushing.

We can relate if you want as it seems we kinda align.

Honestly, it would definitely take more than a text page to give a well detailed explanations of how i made it and eventually found a place and carved a niche for myself in the society. As a young man in the university studying Electrical/Electronics Engineering 2004-2009, I never really appreciated the need for skill acquisition outside of my field of study though I did Basic computer appreciation training before my admission finally came through then after my admission I was posted to kebbi State for my NYSC, while in the camp I tried to identify with almost all the organisations that visited us there either for skill acquisition or training of any sort which was considered relatively cheap, so unknowingly to me that MDG WAP agro entrepreneurial scheme was going to invite us for a training in Abuja Kubwa camp, so, after the training I applied for a loan of 250k knowing fully that my NYSC was going to be the collateral but I decided to take the maximum risk because I was so afraid of coming back home to beg for support, so came back and set up my poultry farm on a small scale in a corner of our rented apartment and also used part of the money to acquire a CAD program skill and a cheap laptop also. Behold after 6months of this programs I was invited for an interview which I passed and immediately got employed...to cut it short, today I can proudly tell the world that I made a repayment of that loan after 2yrs and have also built a house for my parents and I must say that I may not be too rich but I count myself very successful because I have conquered so many fears and made my family so proud....

Thumbs up bro
