delors: That's the main thing. Nobody knows what research they do. I really dont understand. No accountability whatsoever. Pathetic.
I can count the number of lecturers that have blogs in Nigeria. How can they even have blogs when there is nothing to put on it. SMH

Lecturers have labs where they carry out research (@least in some schools). I know some lecturers who do. The problem is that these research are funded by foreign organizations and they pay them (the lecturers) monthly. Any breakthrough or discovery from those research will be in the organization's name. So you basically will not hear of any achievement until government starts funding research.
As for the dude who talked about government pouring millions of naira into universities, those 'millions' are not enough to run the system. I heard from someone who heard from the v.c of a school that the money they receive from the government is just a little above what they need to pay salaries. They receive 60% of the needed money and about 50% are used to pay salaries. They have to generate the rest themselves every year. Have you ever wondered why a school that will admit 5000 students will sell 80k post utme forms?
I heard from Gov Fashola himself that Lagos state's annual allocated budget is about 5% of that of Havard university.

The problem is not teaching theory only, another problem is how well are we being taught that theory. Many of those lecturers do not know what they are teaching. Many of the students are not knowledgeable enough to learn anything new (blame it on poor educational background). Nigeria's educational system is a pretty fuck3d up system and it needs a lot of serious effort to change it from what it currently is.

I'll go with Jiraiya. He isn't as 'cool' as oro but he's strong! Oro is just creepy. check out his fight with hiruzen. He didn't even fight the old man, he used two hokages and got his hands damaged. I don't see jiraiya going down like that. I watched the itachi-kakashi-asuma-kurenai-sasuke fight again this morning. Itachi had to genjutsulize a lady in order to seperate naruto from jiraiya. I don't see him doing that to oro. Oro is just creepy and he has a lot of jazz which makes people (including viewers) to fear him.

And for the guys who opted in for geology, better change your course after your 100L. You'll understand more when you get admitted.

Learning fortran could be cool if you have a lot of time to throw away, IMO. If you don't, learn something real. Assembly language is a waste of time and a pain in the ass. I wrote the course last semester and I hated it! I still hate it. 'no even look that side!'

About two days ago, mark otto ( @mdo ), a designer at github and the creator of bootstrap tweeted a pic of GitHub's new office wifi and wired internet connection (see pic below). I was amazed!
I was chatting with a friend from malaysia and he told me the average download speed is 640kbps (kilobytes per second). I told him mine also and he was like, How will people live with such speed? Why can't the government do something to increase the speed? (I was just laughing in my mind).

I have witnessed some terrible download speeds thanks to a particular network.
