It will automatically create a new local branch "newbranchname" when you push to origin it'll create a remote branch for you on github

In your gh-pages branch, you have a folder where you store your templates right? I'n assuming it's called ui-templates. Copy the index.html file in the ui-templates folder and place it in the branch root. So your gh-pages branch will look like
gh-pages
--ui-templates
----images/
----index.html
----style.css
--index.html

You should be able to access the file from https://github.com/<your username>/<your repo>/blob/gh-pages/index.html

I'm having issues hosting my UI templates on github using the instructions given. The README.md from the master branch is displaying instead. I've changed the source (in the repo settings) to gh-pages -- still no response. How can I go about this? How did you do yours?

You need to put an index.html file in the branch root.

You're welcome. Just know there are two kinds of guys in the industry. Those who customize templates for 20k and those who do real sheet. Choose which one you want to be. I have friends that only do design with sketch, and they charge nothing less than 200k for projects, they don't even write code. Someone telling you not to pursue front end development is bad advice. When you start out you might realize you're better at front end, don't be scared to specialize because of an ignorant advice.

First, I tried to explain between web designers and web developers to the OP. I don't remember posting about web designers and UI/UX designers. UI/UX Designers are not programmers, they design with tools like Adobe Photoshop which you stated and that's very correct. After the design, the web designers implement the UI/UX designers work by coding the screens as illustrated by the UI designer.

Let me ask you one simple question.. If you are working on a project with a team of 3 (Say a UI designer, Front-end developer and a back-end developer).. After the UI designer's work, the front-end Guy codes the design while the back-end Guy writes the server-side scripts. So tell me, the Front-end as coded by the front-end Guy, is it not the same thing as having a ready-made template? I bet you don't even know the answer to that question..

I've completed so many web projects with ready -made templates which I always customize to meet clients taste. You should ask yourself this simple question, "if web projects cannot be completed with ready-made templates, why then do Web designers/Front-end developers sell their ready-made templates on online markets like themeforest??" Who buys these templates then?? Or are you trying to say they don't sell??

Obviously we're not on the same page here. You're talking about mushroom guys who charge 20k for projects. Developers don't charge 60k for any reason. I was talking about real designers and developers. There are jobs for designers and developers, and they pay well. They pay really well. I don't know much about 20k guys so please feel free to advise the OP.

Web designers mostly focus on HTML, CSS and Javascript. But as a web developer, your Job involves both the front-end and the server-side.. You learn all. But the web designer can't make those templates dynamic cuz he does not write server-side scripts.

This is a lie. OP disregard this post. There are jobs for UI designers and front end developers. Whoever posted this is probably still living in 2009. I can't believe no one has challenged this post yet. There are UI designers that don't even write any code, they just design with sketch, figma, photoshop and they're high in demand. Software development has grown complex hence the need for diversification. As a front end developer you'll learn JS frameworks like angular, react, vue etc. You can even choose to be a UI/UX designer and not write any code.

I can't imagine the kind of projects you'll be working on that you'll be able to use ready made templates for. Good designers are rare. If you have a thing for design pls go for it. Not everyone will be full stack.

Oh! you definitely don't know andela that much. if you finish the test very late, regardless of your performance, you will not make it in unless you are lucky that only few people finish before you and only few perform better than you.
it has been tried on multiple accounts with same answers and solutions to all questions. For the first test, only the ones that finish within 30mins to 1hr is more likely to make it to next stage.

As for second test, if you finish after 2hrs, your chance of making it drops tragically.

Want to know why? the questions have become repetitive and many people already have the answers perfected in advance and they just copy/paste.
After the test is scored based on performance, then there is a further cut-off based on time...... believe it or not.

One of the values of Andela is integrity and there are parts of the initial form to explain your circumstance. Like I said before I don't think there is an issue as long as your certificate is ready before the day of resumption. If it won't be then I suggest you wait till it is ready and then apply as you will not get in without it.

I attended tutorials only once throughout my stay in school. I didn't really attend class in my first and second year too. Only started attending in 300L when shit got real lol. As long as you study for exams and attend the classes where attendance is compulsory (You can't pass some courses if you don't have a strong attendance no matter how well you write the exams),you're good to go.

Lol. Passing doesn't really have to do with being introverted or extroverted does it? Tho I missed lots of opportunities during my early days in school because I was an introvert. Like I missed tests and stuff because I had no one to tell me about them. But I made it, I'm a graduate now. I've also changed a bit, I no longer have a hard time relating with strangers. The issue is, I have no interest in talking to strangers, except in rare occasions where I meet someone I can really flow with.
