One thing abt wakanow is when u call to book dey say d seat aiint availble...I booked through my agent...I paid to dia account and I got my ticket immediatly via email, then logged on my ref. Number on emirate website to confirm my booking...I booked for july 21st..
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by dkgetmuny: 7:12pm On May 18, 2013
..Well if u wanna fly july its better u book nw...me I av booked and even paid for my flyt....Emirates 140K..I don even select seat sef ( I pray make fine gal siddon near me, cos na old pipu dem dey always put near me anytime I travel)..apart from the cost, I bliv u will love stop overs if u r d adventorous typ...m looking forward to d emirates flight, I hear dia lot of booze in there...@gboyegad I hear lots of uncomplimentary remark about royal air maroc and dia hub in casablanca...so I fear d services

bigfrancis21: Emirates is the cheapest deal i've seen so far. Their one way is cheap. Being an airliner owned by UAE, once they after airlifting from Lagos, they first stop over at Dubai for a few hours, before then connecting to another flight to the US from there. Another thing I noticed is that the flight costs listed on wakanow seems to be a bit higher than the cost you see on the airline website directly. They are flight agents anyway, so they must charge their own commission for services rendered if you decide to book through them.

ATL GA, just like JFK, is another frequent stopover in the US for many airliners. I believe you should be able to get a direct flight to ATL, instead of getting to JFK first before ATL.
Emirate must fly to dubai for all its flight cos dat its hib, etihad must fly to abhu-dabi, delta to atlanta, before goin any wia...one way for those asian/middle eastern flight(emirates, etihad, turkish,RAM etc) are kinda cheaper..but those yankee and european av higher one way tickets...so prolly u do dem emirates and co...me i dont care if i fly for 24hrs, my own na to reach 'amelica'..my friend flew emirates last week and attested to dia excellent services...the earlier u book d better..bigfrancis if u are looking for speed, the greyhound na snail but m sure u will enjoy sometin else apart from d speed...na for yankee i c women dey drive big buses lol...anyway just weigh ur options
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by dkgetmuny: 12:40am On May 17, 2013
bigfrancis21: HOUSE,

I'm trying to book my flight early enough. I made some searches online and I discovered that Emirates airline offers the cheapest flight cost from Lagos to Maryland (Baltimore). I discovered that the cost for a quick travel (any time close from the next few days to the next few weeks) is around $1322 or N210,000 and booking very early (1-2 months before intended travel time) goes for as cheap as $856(135,248)!

Wow, this is exciting.
oga fly to JFK and use greyhound to baltimore joor lol

GboyegaD: E tun ti de ibi abi grin grin? I think you meet alumnus of all schools in the US and I agree it is a good thing to have attended Ife though. I just declined my admit to WVU some weeks ago having made up my mind on my best option for my next degree. But I will admit that Morgan town is a nice city. Just branched there once on my way back from DC to Ohio sometimes back.
Naso we be ooo gboyega..we can 'prouding' lol....i passed the town on a road trip from richmond virginia to Indiana....

Bigfracis hahan why wont u include d almighty OAU on the list of schools lol....well the guy for VIU can check the skool out on wikipedia....the rating is dismal.. u need to listen to the advise of people on dis forum, dey are speaking from experience and the knowledge of other peoples experience. Even with my various travels to the United States, when it was time to school, i brought my mat to this thread and made it my home...even with an I-20 from a good school u still need God..but if u feel we dont know what we talking about...All the best

bones007: cheesy grin grin grin grin this girl will kill me oo oshe dudu ke nothing like that oo, but to be honest i think is due to the kind of high school i went to ''the british school of lome'' is one of the very best school in africa.
British school of lome ke! no dude, that was not one bit of a factor...when God perfects something for we humans we tend to look at the human factors..well from ur interview post d remotest advantage was ur travel history to the US but above all it was Gods favour...i saw a student of Atlantic hall denied with her uniform on and i saw another two gals from same school aprroved..on a lighter mood, remember mutallab attended british school of lome, so you see it was Gods favour lol

TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part4 by dkgetmuny: 12:45pm On May 09, 2013
so got there around 6am, we filled in as usual...i got into the hall and had to submit my I-20 nd passport to the Nigerian support staffs in the hall..the woman was so rude nd sounded like some bitch from the pit of hell..well i am not some1 to be intimidated...i replied her sharply and told her not to shout at me (tho i was wrong by not signing my I-20)..so i took my seat and waited for my number to appear on d display screen...meanwhile today was a good day..many visiting visa's wia issued and a few denied (those denied where deservedly denied.) Nigerians who go to deliver in the US, una better pay una bills complete, else na for consular dem go enter you.so my number appeared and i stepped forward, omo meeen...make una guess who i see inside cubicle...it was d dreaded chinko woman..i was like my own don pee today...

ME-Goodmorning
V.O-so what are you going to do in the united states
ME-well i am going for a masters in safety management, at West Virginia University, Morgan Town.
V.O- SO when last did you visit the US
ME-last year May
V.O-what did u go do there
ME- I went for my cousins wedding in illinois and also visited West Virginia Uni( the second part na lie o)
V.O-(putting that green card inside my passport) so what did u do in ur first degree
ME-Computer Engineering (i don dey dance azonto inside me)
V.O- did u apply to any other school
ME- NO
V.O- did u bother checkup some other schools
ME- yes but WVU was d only one that offered Safety Management with research interest in OIL and GAS safety which is my area of interest
V.O-(handing me the pick up card) Ok, come back for your visa ........................( i swear uptill now cant remember what she said)

NB: well it looks so simple ryt, my analyses is that the fact dat i av bn to d united states nd came back in due time stood me a good chance...my tourist visa expires nxt yr may. but dis analysis is just human...above all it was Gods favour. i ddnt do GRE but i did IELTS but she ddnt ask for any, obviously my travel history was enuff for her.
meanwhile i will advise you write standard test like GRE,IELTs and TOEFL cos she denied virtually all the guys that went before me for student visa...they ddnt write any test plus dey applied to community colleges..even other V.Os denied all d community college applicants...i know dis cos i sat in d front row and i was eavesdropping all d cubicle. lol
imperiouxx, bigfrancis and co always say the truth by warning on some random schools and not taking test...it may count against you... going back to bed, c u in a jiffy lol

Square65: What Francis said is true and if you want to be doubly sure, confirm from the schools you will be applying to. Most schs state IELTS as one of the options to satisfy the English proficiency requirement and even if it is not on the sch's website, you can email them to ask and from my experience, most of them will accept IELTS.
no I mean hope the VO won't frown at me bringin IELTs instead of TOEFL...
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part3 by dkgetmuny: 6:04pm On Feb 24, 2013
bigfrancis21: Yes there are available dates for MaY. What semester are you going for?
IELTS is always a good substitute for TOEFL anytime anyday.
. I was admitted to west Virginia university for Fall...(August)
