I wonder the kind of spirit that pushes students to burn properties whenever they want to vent their anger. I am sure that they will be made to pay for the destroyed properties. The most annoying thing is that those students that did not participate in the destructive act will also pay for the damage. This reminds me of the similar incidence that occurred in Unilag in 2005. The school authority made so much money from us. Each student paid ten thousand naira then (despite the fact that the destroyed property was insured). Regular students, part-time students, post graduate students etc, all of us coughed out the money. In fact, it was as if the school authority was praying for the incidence to occur so that they could make money. Aside from the payment, we still spent months at home.

Most of the guns are local guns. I guess they need them to defend themselves against invaders.

Nigeria has been REVAMPING, doing several TURN-AROUND MAINTENANCE with tax payers money all to no avail.

I think the government should sell the four refineries to private investors and let's see if they will not function optimally within 18 months.

You raised a very good point but you know Nigerians for what we are. We want to have our cake and eat it. If the government makes a move to sell/privatize the refineries, all the labour unions in the oil and gas industry will stand against the idea. They will threaten to shut down the nation. That is the number one obstacle the government will be faced with.

if Onnoghen has negative security reports, the FG should be bold enough to have taken action a long time ago & not when people were questioning the rationale for the delay.

anyway, showing the acting CJN the reports on him & still wanting to present his name shows that the CJN if confirmed, will be thoroughly blackmailed by this regime.

It is on record that appointment into the office of CJN is by seniority. If the government had gone ahead to take action against Justice Onnoghen, we will still shout that the reason is because they don't want him to become CJN. Well, the most important thing is they should forward his name and senate should confirm him. Smple!
