AN IMPORTANT BACKGROUND.
The Trump organization was caught in tax evasion running into millions of dollars in Panama last year. Trump tried wiggling from paying that money but a Panamian court insisted that the Trump organization must pay up. Donald Trump has been enraged about this ever since.

The Panamian canal has 100% been in control of Panama. The Chinese do have a number of infrastructure projects going on in Panama but they have never gained control of the canal. They don't need to.

Due to climate change, the Panama canal is faced with reduced levels of water and will not serve the original purpose it was designed for. Alternatives will need to be sought and soon.

A US invasion of Panama would be a sitting president using American military to achieve his own personal interests. It would be an American president sending American soldiers to possibly die to protect his business interests.

While it isn't immediately clear what Panama:s response to this veiled threat from the US will be, a US invasion would trigger an economic downturn globally as that canal plays a very important role in global shipping.
