Governor Godwin Obaseki has admonished his supporters not to lose sleep over latest developments in the Edo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying he will participate in the governorship primaries slated for Thursday, June 25.

A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State had stopped Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating in the PDP governorship primary after one of PDP governorship aspirants, Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who vowed not to step down for Obaseki filed the suit on Monday.

Hon. Justice E.A Obile, who granted the order, allowed the defendant to serve the parties through substituted means in two national dailies and adjourned till June 24 for the hearing of the summon.

However, speaking with Daily Independent, the governor, through Crusoe Osagie, his media aide said all the issues raised in the suit are non-issues which will be set aside.

" We are very confident that all the issues raised in the ruling in the suit filed by Ogbede-Ihama are non-issues. Once the court gets to know that all the issues raised are not correct, it will definitely set aside that ruling".

"We are very confident that the governor will participate in the PDP primaries.

"Our confidence stems from the large support we are getting from PDP leaders across the country, and in particular Edo state".

"Our teeming supporters and the good people of Edo have nothing to worry about. Governor Godwin Obaseki is in high spirits and confident of victory at the end of the day".

You really think politicking is just ABC. What would stopping the primary achieve? All the noise for/against is just to destabilize your opponents and force them to make mistake.
While APC compiled with the Gazetted regulations (meaning they are not fools either), they may just have played into the hands of the other faction because
1. No INEC
2. The party register used is questionable (not by me or you)
In time, you'll see that only the Supreme court will decide APC's fate.
Had they sought resolutions it would have been better. But the further they go, the deeper the abyss they dig for the party.
Its we online that pretend to see it all, when the players themselves are not so confident.

For those of us currently in the field we can observe that Edo APC election is so peaceful as against the panic being spread by the outgoing governor of Edo state.
As a matter of fact, as we speak some wards has concluded their voting and the result is been collated. The voters are well arranged and all covid-19 protocols are being observed.
This is a vindication of the fact that the direct primary still remails the best form of party primary anywhere in the world especially in this pandemic. Oshiomole has indeed been vindicated.
With the manner in which the electorates are organized in the ward INEC will indeed learn from this in the conduct of the main election. This is the best way to prevent a pandemic and Edo APC has proven it.
APC has once again showed that power belong to the people by giving them the right to vote who they want directly instead of being bought by fat Ghana must go politicians.
Ironically, the PDP whose slogan is power to the people has never conducted a direct primary since inception in 1999, then one will question if they even believe in their own slogan!
We are proud of oshiomole and his achievements in the APC.
All those who want to kill democracy are free to join the PDP who we all know to be a trash can.
We also awaits the PDP primary in a few days time as we will be there with our cameras to see how they will maintain social distancing by converging over #5000 persons on one venue like 'sardine'.

Nigerians never sieze to amaze me , truth be told the average Nigerian man thinks in a weird way our type of mentality can never be found anywhere in the world we are really strange people, we are cowards indeed. For 60 years we have all being complaining about How Nigeria is hell on earth,The world capital of poverty,no electricity, bad governance, corruption that not being enough now our life is no longer safe.bokoharam, herdsmen , bandits etc everybody living is living in fear is 60 years not enough for a nation to stand.how old is India?How old is Singapore?why are they ahead of us.

This afternoon I just watch this man's interview on channels tv with one kadiri Ahmed lady I was shocked and asked my self is this not the same man that Nairalanders create threads to insult everyday?especially Afonjas I was so disappointed.how can a man so devoted to speaking for the voiceless and oppressed be so much hated by many.are we used to suffering, are we resistant to change Are we brainwashed or what? I understand the man is the hot tempered type but I guess it's the kind of hate that you naturally develop for people who killed your parents , Nigerian troop invaded his house and killed people in fact they have hands on the death of his parents why wouldn't he hate them.
I wish Nnamdi many the best in his life may his dream come true , but as for me I give up on Nigeria and her citizens , the future would be worse because even if our current leaders all die their children will continue where they stopped. when an animal has an injury and the injury seems not to heal but gets worse it will eventually destroy the animal that's Nigerias case but before then I pray I will be out of this country to Canada end of this year never to come back.

The Edo State Chairman of the People's Democratic Party PDP, Tony Aziegbemi has declared that and Governor Godwin Obaseki and all his loyalists were set to join the party.

This is coming few days Mr Godwin Obaseki was disqualifiedd from being fielded in the upcoming All Progressive Congress Primaries for the Edo State Governorship Election this September.

The Chairman of Edo PDP said  Obaseki’s deputy, Philip Shuaibu, and the All Progressives Congress (APC) chapter would also defect.

The party leader made the disclosure in an interview with NAN on Monday in Benin.

Aziegbemi said the governor, “his deputy and the entire APC structure in the state will be joining PDP soon”.

The chairman disclosed that they have been in touch “in the last few days”.

Aziegbemi assured that by Tuesday, he would “be able to confirm the exact date he (Obaseki) will be joining, along with his team.”

He added that he was not “aware that the governor has obtained our party’s membership card.

“I can also say that there is no automatic ticket in the offing for him at all”, Aziegbemi said.

AUTHENTIC NEWS GIANT also learnt that the Mr Obaseki has visited the Rivers State Governor Mr Wike and also his Akwa Ibom counterpart Udom Emmanuel.

Following his disqualification from the APC Primaries thereby putting an end to his second term bid under that platform, many have perceived his next move will be to defect to the opposition PDP in the State.

Governor Obaseki who had previously insisted he wouldn't walk away from the party, is said to be seriously considering alternatives to the actualisation of his ambition.

He, however, has called for calm from his supporters and stated he will declare his next move after an audience with the President.

its a very straightforward political calculation equity demand an igbo man or woman of either South East or South South become the next President of Nigeria to truly heal the wound of the civil war of over 50 years but if Nigerians are not ready for true and sincere reconciliation the agitation to break Nigeria will continue and ever willing foot soldiers will always be find among the young igbo generation who are not aware of the event of the 60s but have continue to pay the price for generation .


If PDP and APC failed to collectively zone the presidency to an Igbo in 2023 then their is no equity so every tribe in Nigeria is free to contest and the issue of zoning should be put to dead forever . let every Nigerian from the Middle belt , Niger Delta , South West, North contest and let the Majority win.


in 2023 the igbos will ally with the Hausa-Fulani we dont play politics we have made our stand very clear and open let them rule us forever its very important to note that there is nothing an igbo man will see in Nigeria again that will ever shake him
