Ifemeze:From what I have always known, yes, you can. Except that the process has now changed, what you need to do is to fill out a new DS-160 form to match your new appointment location. After that, you should update your barcode on your AVITS portal; a new barcode will be issued to you. Experts here can weigh in, please. |
Update everyone! There are Abuja dates available on AVITS now… from April 2026. |
Help4rmme2u:Yes, please. If anyone knows the date, they should share. I'm suspecting the CBT would be next month though. I think the shortlisting is over. Also, I am willing to practice “past questions” with those who will be available. |
Kheney89:I’m a bit worried because I'll leave the state I am in by mid-August to another far away state. Anyways, I have just selected the state I am currently in. I hope the exam happens within the next 3 weeks. |
Please, who knows when the exam would be? |
toluolorun:I have similar issue. Please could you share the phone number you call to reach them? |
Princessadey:Hello Princess, You will get the amentum number after you have created an account on the AVITS platform and you initiate an application. Let me know if it is now clear. |
AdisaMighty:I did this and they responded after about a month and to say they have escalated it to the AVITS team. Nothing since then. It's now one month since I got the email.
|
TURADO87:Congratulations!! Please, when did you make your MRV payment? I'm also in this situation. I paid since December 20 but I still can't progress to schedule an appointment. Every time I input my bank reference number, I'm logged out of my account. I had raised 4 different tickets to this effect but they keep saying they have escalated it. Please advise me. |
wadijoo:Thank you for the guidance. Whenever I enter the reference number and the date, it logs me out. If I log in and try again, I get logged out again. By the way, did anyone try calling any of the embassy/consulate phone number shared during the weekend, please? |
wadijoo:Thank you for the response. I paid the MRV fees by making a deposit at a local First Bank branch. I entered my Amentum number on AVITS after 48 hours (as recommended) with the hope to access the scheduling calender. But I haven't been able to get past this stage. I have raised multiple tickets and the responses have been that the issue has been escalated to the Support Desk, yet, no resolution. I also emailed the addresses shared here but there is still no resolution. |
wadijoo:Could you please share how you went about resolving it? I have the same issue. I've made payment for over a month now and they are yet to confirm it. |
Cashmadam:Thank you so much. |
Cashmadam:Could you please drop the phone number you reached them with? |
Hello everyone, Please I need your guidiance. I made the MRV payment at a First Bank brank since December 20, but I have not been able to proceed to schedule an appointment on the AVITS platform. Whenever I enter my amentum number on the bank deposit details page, it tells me "Bank details updated successfully" and takes me back to the page to enter the same details again. I really need to pick a date first, then, hope for a closer date. I have raised tickets to this effect and I was told the issue has been escalated to the Support Desk, yet, no resolution. Also, I have been following the conversation here but I don't seem to understand something. I chose Lagos when I created my DS-160 form and was making payment. I want to change my location for the visa interview with the hope of being able to get a date that is closer. Is that possible, please? If yes, how do I go about it, please? Thank you. |
Claire18:What the First Bank of Nigeria is requesting from you is the amentum number. |
Yoyoky:I'm also hoping for this. But is there anyone who has made payment and cannot proceed to schedule an appointment here, please? Whenever I enter the amentum number on the bank deposit details page, it tells me "Bank details updated successfully" and takes me back to the page to enter the same details again. I really need to pick a date first, then, hope for a closer date. |
Steph88:Hello Steph, So, after filling out the DS160 form, you will then proceed to create a profile account on the AVITS platform here: https://www.usvisaappt.com/visaapplicantui/login if you don't have an account already. After creating an account, please follow through the process to activate your account. After the activation is done, you'll be able to create an application request and begin your scheduling process. I believe you can pay online but when I did mine, I made a cash deposit payment at a First Bank branch. See here for more details on payment: https://ng.usembassy.gov/visas/important-visa-information/ If you seek any clarification along the process, do well to ask. Cheers, bro. |
Ashirioluwa:Thank you, Ashirioluwa. |
Ashirioluwa:It is well. I'll hope for a miracle because what I'm traveling for is happening in June. Thanks for the feedback. |
Lynda27:Thank you, Lynda. I did as you said and i got the feedback "bank details updated successfully". I went on to update my country from "select country" to "Nigeria" and i noticed the pending application on my dashboard disappeared. I really hope this is no serious concern. Also, on my account page, i can't see my application listed anymore. |
Lynda27:Sorry about the trouble you're having with the payment confirmation, Lynda. I hope this is resolved soon or someone here can guide you appropriately. I made my payment today but I did a cash deposit at a First Bank branch. I wanted to ask what you entered as the Bank deposit slip reference number on the AVITS portal, please. I keep getting an error message whenever I enter the number on the deposit slip. Kindly guide me. Thank you. |
Seeing these far dates is scary. Is there any chance of getting a date in May 2025 or earlier, please? |
Funmilee:Thank you, Funmilee. I figured this out last night. I'll go and do a cash deposit payment this morning at the bank. |
Hello everyone I'm trying to make payment for a non-immigrant visa application, but I couldn't get past the "Choose Post". Can someone please guide me?

midnighter:Oh... Quite unfortunate. I think this explanation is a lot easier to relate with and better understood. Thank you for clarifying the news story, midnighter. |
Annibiteye:It's mysterious. We cannot be sure of what circumstance exactly would have made a truck carry 39 dead bodies in the UK. I hope findings upon investigation by the Police are made public. The news is very true. I also read it on Channels TV last night. |
enesi009:@Chemistdavy, Kindly reject this advice. It is purely fraudulent. If you cannot apply using your original age and hope that the selection board favourably consider you, then, it is just better you wait a little more when you will be qualified to apply. While you wait, you should acquire relevant skills and build competencies that will ready you for the job. I wish you the best. |
Well, I really don't blame him. I blame the spineless leaders we have here in Nigeria. |
