Hello everyone,

I choose FCT when I opened AVITS profile but I found a date in Lagos. Can I use that date or must I book appointment in Abuja. Has anyone done this before and successfully attended their interview?
From what I have always known, yes, you can. Except that the process has now changed, what you need to do is to fill out a new DS-160 form to match your new appointment location. After that, you should update your barcode on your AVITS portal; a new barcode will be issued to you.

Experts here can weigh in, please.

Update everyone!

There are Abuja dates available on AVITS now… from April 2026.

Shortlisted candidates, I feel the question we need to start asking is:

When will this exam commence?

How can one get past questions?

What's the salary range for various grades?
I hear some MDAs pay higher than others.
Yes, please.

If anyone knows the date, they should share. I'm suspecting the CBT would be next month though. I think the shortlisting is over.

Also, I am willing to practice “past questions” with those who will be available.

I’m a bit worried because I'll leave the state I am in by mid-August to another far away state.

Anyways, I have just selected the state I am currently in. I hope the exam happens within the next 3 weeks.

Hi,

It's a technical issue and you need to contact support. It took a lot of raising support tickets and calling them back to back before it was eventually resolved.

Just be persistent and call every 3 days also let them know of the urgency cos your payment validity expires in July.
I have similar issue. Please could you share the phone number you call to reach them?

Please how exactly can I get this amentum number? I went to first bank to making visa payments and they asked for this and a copy of my passport data page. I’ll be grateful if I get a response. Thank you
Hello Princess,

You will get the amentum number after you have created an account on the AVITS platform and you initiate an application.

Let me know if it is now clear.

I did this and they responded after about a month and to say they have escalated it to the AVITS team. Nothing since then. It's now one month since I got the email.

Hello everyone,

So after mounting so much pressure and creating countless ticket for not able to use my GTB MRV to book appointment it has finally been resolved Today...
And i am glad to let you all know that i i have booked my appointment for October 6th, but i will still like to know if anyone can enlighten me on how to reschedule to get earlier date and also... i want to know if correction can be made on my DS160 or if i fill another DS160 can i still use it for this same appointment... huh

I will really appreciate if anyone can help or guild me through this...
Congratulations!!

Please, when did you make your MRV payment?

I'm also in this situation. I paid since December 20 but I still can't progress to schedule an appointment. Every time I input my bank reference number, I'm logged out of my account.

I had raised 4 different tickets to this effect but they keep saying they have escalated it.

Please advise me.

It's is the ref no under the bar code of the receipt received from the bank you are going to put. It started with OIS/date of payment/1234...
Thank you for the guidance. Whenever I enter the reference number and the date, it logs me out. If I log in and try again, I get logged out again.

By the way, did anyone try calling any of the embassy/consulate phone number shared during the weekend, please?

Is it bank payment or online payment? It can't be easy explaining it here because I tried a lot of procedures before I get over it. Okay, share the receipt image here and let me see how you have done it or else send me a WhatsApp message @ GoldenMind Computers (08183014807). We render USA Visa Services.
Thank you for the response.

I paid the MRV fees by making a deposit at a local First Bank branch.

I entered my Amentum number on AVITS after 48 hours (as recommended) with the hope to access the scheduling calender. But I haven't been able to get past this stage. I have raised multiple tickets and the responses have been that the issue has been escalated to the Support Desk, yet, no resolution.

I also emailed the addresses shared here but there is still no resolution.

Could you please share how you went about resolving it? I have the same issue. I've made payment for over a month now and they are yet to confirm it.

Hello everyone,

Please I need your guidiance.

I made the MRV payment at a First Bank brank since December 20, but I have not been able to proceed to schedule an appointment on the AVITS platform. Whenever I enter my amentum number on the bank deposit details page, it tells me "Bank details updated successfully" and takes me back to the page to enter the same details again. I really need to pick a date first, then, hope for a closer date. I have raised tickets to this effect and I was told the issue has been escalated to the Support Desk, yet, no resolution.

Also, I have been following the conversation here but I don't seem to understand something. I chose Lagos when I created my DS-160 form and was making payment. I want to change my location for the visa interview with the hope of being able to get a date that is closer. Is that possible, please? If yes, how do I go about it, please?

Thank you.

Hi, pls how do you pay to First bank> My Mum went and was asked for a code. On AVITS; it doesnt give that option , only to pay in dollars. Can it be paid with a dollar card from outside Naija or must the transaction originate from Naija/ First bank?
What the First Bank of Nigeria is requesting from you is the amentum number.

I'm also hoping for this.

But is there anyone who has made payment and cannot proceed to schedule an appointment here, please? I really need to pick a date first, then, hope for a closer date.

Please I know it might have been posted somewhere in this group. Please what are the steps to fill forms and what website do I go to make payment. I know of ds160 and it seems they no longer pay in gtbank again. What steps do I follow after filling ds160 form. If I can pay online, let me know. Thank you
Hello Steph,

So, after filling out the DS160 form, you will then proceed to create a profile account on the AVITS platform here: https://www.usvisaappt.com/visaapplicantui/login if you don't have an account already.

After creating an account, please follow through the process to activate your account. After the activation is done, you'll be able to create an application request and begin your scheduling process. I believe you can pay online but when I did mine, I made a cash deposit payment at a First Bank branch. See here for more details on payment: https://ng.usembassy.gov/visas/important-visa-information/

If you seek any clarification along the process, do well to ask.

Cheers, bro.

Thank you, I hope it is resolved soon as well. I entered the amentum reference number on the AVITS Portal in the bank deposit details section
Thank you, Lynda. I did as you said and i got the feedback "bank details updated successfully". I went on to update my country from "select country" to "Nigeria" and i noticed the pending application on my dashboard disappeared. I really hope this is no serious concern. Also, on my account page, i can't see my application listed anymore.

Hi,

I made a visa payment on the AVITS portal two weeks ago via online transfer to First Bank Direct, but the payment is yet to be confirmed, and I am unable to book an appointment. I have raised a ticket on the AVITS portal with no response, sent emails to nigeria@usvisaappt.com and LagosNIV@state.gov without receiving feedback, and contacted the First Bank Contact Centre, providing all the necessary details, but still received no assistance.

I also entered the reference number and date under the bank deposit details, which showed "bank details updated successfully," but the page then redirects back to "generate deposit slip." I have also called +234 201 343 8900 all to no avail. Does anyone know how long it takes for Visa payment confirmation on the AVITS Portal?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there anything else I should do? I would appreciate your assistance.
Sorry about the trouble you're having with the payment confirmation, Lynda. I hope this is resolved soon or someone here can guide you appropriately.

I made my payment today but I did a cash deposit at a First Bank branch. I wanted to ask what you entered as the Bank deposit slip reference number on the AVITS portal, please. I keep getting an error message whenever I enter the number on the deposit slip. Kindly guide me. Thank you.

The truck wasnt carrying dead bodies, the people snuck themselves in there to smuggle themselves into the UK

Sometimes the driver wont even know they are there because they will pick the container from the port after the smuggler has finished tampering with it

Unfortunately the conditions got too much for them (the truck is refrigerated/air tight) and they gave up the ghost

RIP
Oh... Quite unfortunate.

I think this explanation is a lot easier to relate with and better understood. Thank you for clarifying the news story, midnighter.

This another sad event, very mysterious indeed.
Wondering if the bodies are to be used for some clinical analysis or what, since the bodies are frozen. Well further investigation will unravel this mystery.

but Explorers, the pix of the bodies were not shown just the truck. Sure human bodies are in the truck? My thoughts though!
It's mysterious. We cannot be sure of what circumstance exactly would have made a truck carry 39 dead bodies in the UK. I hope findings upon investigation by the Police are made public.

The news is very true. I also read it on Channels TV last night.
