While i have resisted the urge to respond to many posts here, I have to state the following about Hybrid Inverters:

If your are stuck with the idea that HYBRIDS are not good, You will be left behind just like those who said Automatic Transmission Vehicles were bad far back in 1990-1998. Obviously they were left behind while many have learnt to adapt to the new technology and today, little or no one wants a Manual Transmission Vehicle anymore.

Why don't you print the Checklist of a Hybrid installation and sort out the prerequisites one by one and go ahead to install your Hybrid Inverter?
These might include but not limited to:
Proper Earthing
Use of SPDs
Use of breakers
Use of Voltage Protectors or Regulators
Proper Ventilation of installation Site
Proper Cable Sizing
Proper Choice of Inverter
Proper Choice of Panels and Capacities
Proper Panel Sloping Angle
Determination of Daily Sun Hours
ETC ETC ETC

I have always maintained that in Nigeria, Please people should rate their panels at NOTC. e get why.
Why because our roofing pattern are mostly not planed for Solar panel integration, Our atmosphere is full of impurities (if rain no fall for 2 days, dust go cover your panels).
Nigeria's optimum solar production angle has been proven to be best at 9 degrees angle facing south ( how many buildings in Nigeria has this?)
Sun wan shine for Nigeria, the Temperature go almost reach 40 degrees Celsius (Panels don't like this) Yes panels need sunlight but they don't light excessive heat too.

All these and many more factors mostly accounts for why we install a 600W x10 panels and end up getting 4000w or less max production. Take those same panels to another location, which naturally maintain STC and you will get accurate production as rated from the manufacturers.

And for the Anti-Hybrid campaigners, continue, you will be left out eventually. No offense please.
We never even drive Hybrid Cars finish, Oyimbo people don leave am for us and take up Full electric vehicles, Once fuel scarce for an hour and the situations at our fuel stations will be chaotic.

How else do we convince y'all that HYBRIDS ARE HERE TO STAY?

Agreed to the above but nobody is saying they won't stay but the choice is still upon everyone. The most important thing is the end result, advantages and disadvantages, cost, ease of repairs etc.

Every car get im own advantage and disadvantage, the end result is to move from point A to B ; same applies to off-grid / hybrid inverters all will give power to your appliances. I use a powMr with 600w pv but producing close to 500w. Am I satisfied? Yes!!!

The Uk till now still drive Manual cars. Most trucks are manual etc. Every technology have advantages and disadvantages. Everyone here will make a choice at the end of the day. By the way, I still drive Manual car and na my choice.

Lastly, msw, cc configured for lead acid only, off grid inverters with lvd of 10.5v etc are still sold in the market.

Good afternoon all. I want to appreciate everyone for their advice and help, I was finally able to get my inverter system set up. Mercury 2.4kva hybrid, two 220ah mercury batteries and three 475w Jinko panels. I have been enjoying it since 5th of this month, it has been a wonderful experience, 24 hours light since then. My fridge is always on from morning till about 6pm.I also use it for ironing and blending, and for my washing machine. It was installed by one of us here - solarengr

Well,it is cool.
That iron part should be done with good sunlight. Don't try it with in the evening. Things are still very new here.

It was worthy every Penny as it can go as low as 9.4volt, with a load of 90w.

Congratulations.
Very compatible with lithium but severe damage awaits LifePO4 users. So dont use it with LifePO4 oooooo unless a bms at 3v cut off per cell is attached. Enjoy!!!

Pix not clear enough.
There are 2 holes on both horizontal frames. I had to bore 2 holes through the fence to fasten opposite ends together to the fence. So no matter the wind( not hurricane or tornado ooo cheesy) it stays put.

Please experts in the house help me fine tune this setup.
Can these listed solar items power my load without stress.
The freezer and TV will be on only between 9 am to 5 pm.
The 3 fans will be on all night.
The 6 LED bulbs will be on up to about 10 pm

Load :
140 watts hisense chest freezer
50 watts hisense TV
10 watts Gotv decoder
6 pcs 5watts bulb
3 pcs 30 watts AC/DC fan
3 phone charging point

The setup:

2.5 kW inverter
60a mppt cc
1400 watts solar panel
12 v 210ah lifep04 battery

I noticed you are on a tight budget so you need to manage what you have to survive. You can easily be advice here to go 24v if you haven't purchased the above.

But if the above had been purchased, probably my set up could give a fair hint.

3000w 12v satchet inverter
2s 300w africell pv
Powmr 60a ( max 700w, 80v)
Pv is almost flat on a fence airflow is great.
78ft (26yard Ethernet cable in place of regular cables grin).
Battery: 105ah LifePO4

Load mostly in the afternoon: 115w freezer( most important), 50w tv, 10w decoder, 35w fan, etc.

Freezer from 9am to 3 or 4pm.

On cc I do get max of 31a at 478w when sun is blazing.

As freezer goes off by 3pm, battery jumps to 14.1v b4 6pm.

Night: Tv, 1 fan and lightings till say 10pm.
2 fans from 9 or 10pm till morning at a fair speed.

Battery drpped mostly around 13.0 or 13.1v in the morning.

At times tv goes off as sacrifice for freezer in the afternoon when sunlight is just fair.

TRY CHARGE YOUR BATTERY FULLY FIRST AND CAREFULLY DISCHARGE AFTERWARDS. IF You discharge with sense, this 12v of yours will work. But in the long run upgrade to 24v to enable you utilize max your 1400w. But the economy could hinder an upgrade.

What defines our taste of type of inverter is largely different from one another.

Satisfaction is the key here.

Some are comfortable with a volt meter reading while some go beyond that as they want to monitor things via Bluetooth and remotely.

Some need to power energy guzzling appliances like Ac,heater, microwave, oven, electric cooker etc while some just need to turn on bulbs, tv and charge phones or laptops.

Some want to edit their settings satisfactorily without stress while some are comfortable with inbuilt 10.5v settings grin but monitoring.

Some want things in pipes and as neat as possible while some will not be bothered seeing wires flying around.

Some will never run their batteries with or without bms, earthings, surges, fuses etc.

SO IT IS ALL ABOUT WHAT WORKs FOR MR A BUT NOT FOR MR B.

N.B : But Never underestimate the power embedded in a good psw satchet inverter with true capacity, e go dhock you.

Pls need advice. I have 3 300w panels connected in series to my 12v hybrid inverter but i feel it doesn't charge effectively so thinking of getting the powmr 60a mppt to charge my battery better.
Panel's Voc and Vsc are 37 and 32v respectively. Seeing the upper limit of the mppt for 12v as 80v(mppt voc is 160v), can I ignore it and still leave it in series or what's the best panel combination.
Max for mppt 12v is 80v. DO NOT SERIES THE 3 as you will hit above 90. Do 2s for best results.

Currently running 2s 300w pv at 33a max for a 12v system with powmr.
