YOU AND YOUR DREAM

READ GENESIS 37:1-20

MEMORISE: Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. 6 He said to them, "Listen to this dream I had..." (Gen 37:5-6)

Joseph, the dreamer, started his dreams of destiny at an early stage. Though his dreams caused him trouble, they encouraged him (fired him up) to maintain his integrity and chastity.
The Hebrew word translated "told" in Gen 37:5, is an accentuated form of the verb. In the Hebrew language, a grammatical addition to a verb changes the tone to a stronger form with the same meaning. In Joseph's case "told" becomes "told with emphasis" or "bragged". In other words, the young Joseph did not just tell his brothers about his dreams, he told them his apparent boasting. There was no way his brothers would not be offended by the God-revealed dreams. Are you asking, Why? The father, for so many reasons had openly demonstrated his love for the boy.
Joseph, perhaps because of his youthfulness, had not learned God's purpose for dreams. Yet, he positioned himself in a way to facilitate the fulfilment. Dreams give hope, focus and direction for our lives. They hold us on target, inspire us to action. They give us healthy ambition and motivate us. They are not given to us by God to inflate our egos, but to encourage us to accomplish things for Him.
When dreams get to our spirit, they can do us good and lead us forward. However, when they get into our heads, they can become big problems for others and ourselves.
What are you doing with your dreams?

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to accomplish Your purpose for my life.
2. Lord, give me the needed insights that will equip me with the necessary foresight for future exploits with, and for you.
3. Lord, help our leaders to discover and never to derail from Your purposes for giving them the privilege to be leaders in various capacities.

A PLEA FOR REVIVAL
READ PSALM 85:1-13
MEMORISE: Will you not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in you? Show us Your unfailing love, O LORD, and grant us Your salvation. (Psalm 85:6-7)

God often grants re-awakening when men recognize their deep spiritual needs and, in heartfelt agony, plead with Him to come to their aid. When there is genuine repentance, God releases His power.

Israel, as a nation, is favoured by God. After regaining freedom from Egyptian captivity, God led them to the Promised Land, in spite of their inconsistent walk with Him. The inconsistence of the Israelites' walk with God developed out of their familiarity with Him (familiarity contempt) and their yawning for idol worshipping Luke other nations.

The writer of this Psalm realised there must have been a lot of strain in their interpersonal relationships, inordinate ambition, hatred and hearts drifted away from God. Therefore, the nation needed spiritual re-awakening in order to get back to the very centre of the will of God.

Many Christians and Christian assemblies today have become cold. The glory has departed in many places. It is not re-organization or re-modeling that is needed, but a heaven-sent revival. So we must abase ourselves and cry aloud for revival. God in His mercy, will rekindle His fire of revival in our lives and churches in Jesus' name. Amen

What areas of your life need revival? Revival is on the way when those affected by coldness and lukewarmness discover themselves, and passionately desire divine intervention. Are you ready?

PRAYER POINTS
1. Send down revival, oh Lord, into my life and home.
2. Lord, make me an instrument of lasting revival in this generation.
3. Send down revival, oh Lord, into our churches.

WATCH IT!
READ 1 SAMUEL 21:1-9
MEMORISE: David went to Nob, to Ahimelech the priest. Ahimelech trembled when he met him, and asked, "Why are you alone? Why is no one with you?" (1 Sam 21:1)

A man once wrote: "Keep one thing forever in view; the truth, and if you do this though it may seem to lead you away from the opinion of men, it will assuredly conduct you to the throne of God."

In his time of distress, David fled to the house of God. King Saul was actually pursuing him to take his life. He ran to the house of God for security and reinforcement. It is great comfort in the day of trouble to know that we have a God to whom we can run for divine intervention (cf. Psa 46:1-3; Heb 4:15,16).

In our text for today, David told a lie and it eventually led to the death of the priests of the LORD. David was known to be a man of great faith and courage, yet both failed him because he allowed fear and cowardice to set in. Had he trusted God aright, he would not have used such a sinful (selfish) strategy for his own preservation. He repented of this later (1 Sam 22:22). He told the lie in the presence of a traitor who later became a killed (1 Sam 21:1,7; 22:21). He also feigned madness (1 Sam 21:12-15). All these were done out of fear (v. 12). Couldn't God save him without these 'false appearance'? It is not written for our imitation but for our admonition. Let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

If we would but trust God aright, we don't need "white lies" or dishonouring devices for our preservation. If you tell the truth, you have the infinite power of God supporting you.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, help me to be strong in times of temptation.
2. Lord, help me to be vigilant enough against the cunning of the devil.
3. Pray for brethren going through terrible times of temptation, that they will be strong enough to stand for Him.

Is he afraid of being flogged?
I remember during the Campaign period and Buhari certificate saga, he actually said Pa Buhari should be flogged for lying about his certificate. I don't where the link to that report is on Nairaland, but the man later apologized for talking out of his anus
We have not being hearing from him ever since Buhari won the election or is he afraid that Pa Buhari is going to flog him?

CHASING SHADOW
READ 1 SAMUEL 21:6-10
MEMORISE: Now one of Saul's servants was there that day, detained before the Lord; he was Doeg the Edomite, Saul's head shepherd. (1 Sam 21:7)

A fatal accident occurred recently. The driver of the car, a middle-aged man, who was the cause of the accident, almost lost his life in the accident. He was in a state of coma for many days in a specialist hospital. When he eventually regained consciousness, he attributed the cause of the accident to everybody else except himself, although eye witnesses confirmed that he was at fault. Solomon is right to have said, The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself (Prov 14:14; KJV).

Saul, the first king of Israel, in his backsliding state, shifted his attention from his God-given role and responsibility to becoming obsessed with the plan of killing David. He had forgotten how he started from a very humble beginning until God lifted him. He fell to the base of the mountain of glory as he started chasing shadow - the innocent David. He made conscious efforts at killing David - threw javelin at him (1 Sam 18:10), gave him his daughter to be a snare (1 Sam 18:17-23) {can you imagine the bride price he demanded?}, pursued him to places (1 Sam 23:26-29). Why all these? He had lost contact with God. Those in position of authority should be careful, lest they too be caught in such dangerous fleshly web.

Backsliding, whether total or partial, is a very dangerous spiritual condition. To keep your relationship with God, you must obey Him implicitly at all times. Learn from King Saul, and seek the Lord when, He may be found.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Oh Lord, let the error of King Saul not be said of me, in Jesus' name.
2. Pray against the vengeful spirit of witch- hunting among our political and church leaders.
3. Pray that God should visit the justice system of this nation with the necessary far-reaching and lasting reformation.

THE FINAL JUDGEMENT
READ REVELATIONS 16:1-12
MEMORISE: Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say: "You are just in these judgements, you who are and who were, the Holy One, because you have so judged." (Rev 16:5)

Stanley Crissman was once convicted for a minor hit-and-run infraction in 1965 after he drove over a mailbox and kept going on. The judge sentenced him to one month in a minimum-security prison. An overworked staffer mistakenly wrote 30 years, instead of 30 days, in the official report, and Crissman was shipped off to serve his extra ordinarily harsh punishment. It is disturbing, but Mr Crissman never bothered to question anyone about the length of time he was to serve. Compounding the problem was the fact that Crissman had no relatives to make enquiries for him.

Scenarios like this happen here on earth because of human imperfection. Judgement can be misplaced. Mistakes in record keeping can occur. In fact, the justice system in most nations have become so prejudiced that masses hardly get justice for infractions done on them by the so-called high and mighty.
The case is different with our all-knowing God of justice. None will be sentenced wrongly (Rev 16:5-6). The wicked will go to hell effortlessly on account of their evil works. No appeal at all. Those who took time to ask for forgiveness of their sins and have repented of them, forsaking them will enter into God's rest in Heaven by the merit of Christ's perfect redemption. Your decision will determine your final destiny. Think about it and do the right thing now - accept Christ's Lordship and follow Him.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. I rededicate my life to You, my Lord Jesus Christ, today. I shall not end up in hell, in Jesus' name.
2. Pray for the members of your family as well as relatives who are yet to decide positively for Christ.
3. Pray for those who are being wrongly punished in the various prisons and detention.

ONE GOD, ONE STANDARD
READ NUMBERS 13:1-16
MEMORISE: The community is to have the same rules for you and the alien living among you; this is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. You and the alien shall be the same before the LORD. (Num 15:15)

Human right advocates have greatly increased in the last couple of decades. At the heart of these movements and campaigns are the vented issues of equality. These movements seek to address specific situations they consider biased and unfair in societies. They seek equal rights in certain social and economic contexts and the removal of illegally enforced discriminations in religion, race, age, health, gender, etc.

In the above Bible text, God recommends the principle of equality in the instructions He gave to Israel concerning offering and sacrifices. God instructed equal treatment for both the Israelites and strangers (Gentiles) among them. According to Gal 3:28, there should be no partiality among the people of God. Why? There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. In the same way, God expects all His worshippers to be holy, irrespective of their social status, cultural backgrounds and denominational affiliations. God is no respecter of anybody. Walk in His unchanging standard of holiness.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, help me not to disappoint you as touching Your unchanging standard of holiness.
2. Lord, help me to improve upon my lifestyle at those points where have not been measuring up to Your standard of holiness and righteousness.
3. Pray for our leaders at every level, that God's righteousness will consume them in all their actions, reactions and inactions as they lead.

I don't really know how to compose this message but I will start somehow....

1. The kids that were sent out of School for School fees which later turned to blessing in disguise
2. Mr Akin Fadeyi, Mr Gani Olowu and Mr Adun Martins that ran into the kids and paid School fees on 17 students... Hmmm, I think these set of men are rare in Nigeria and deserve tgo be celebrated
2. The kind hearted Nigerian based in UK that offered tgo pay School fees of 2 Secondary Students till they graduate, I think such a man ought to be celebrated

1. From the story I got from Mr Akin's facebook timeline, I was moved and blessed and I had to start praying for these set of people, they happened to be the Solution to these kids problem.
17 of those kids were sent out of School because of School fees i.e. N2,350 each. (You can read the full story on his timeline), these visionary men instructed the kids to write their names and reachable phone numbers on a sheet of paper and told the kids to go home and MUST return to School the following day. These men went to the School principal to ask all that happened and confirmed that they were indeed sent out of School, to cut the story short, these men cleared(paid) the fees on these kids same day. Note: God picked calls of 17 kids at a time

That same day I guess, Mr Akin took to his facebook account to share his experience and solicited for help for kids in School that are having financial challenges. God miraculously sent a man called Mr Tope Ayedun, a Nigerian based in UK who offered scholarship to two students from same school (i.e. The less privileged ones). The two students are RAMATU ALIYU and ABEL AUTA.
Here is another area of Mr Akin's post that caught my attention
yesterday, ABEL AUTA soberly renounced cult involvements which he was inexcusably pushed into out of frustration and quest for delirious escapism. Tope, I know you don't like me to do this, but covering this act of goodness is tantamount to covering SMOKE with BASKET

Nairalanders, I think we need gto first celebrate and appreciate these three men that took it upon themselves to invest in the kids future and Mr Tope Ayedun that offered to assist two of the kids on scholarship.
The CHANGE we are shouting begins with us, better Nigeria starts from you...
I remember a quote that states... EVERY CHILD IS YOUR CHILD

These year is indeed a year God is gonna pick calls of those that earnestly desire Him for HELP

Pls let's push this to the from page to appreciate these great men.
They deserve to be celebrated.
Let us as well join the cause or we initiate NAIRALAND's version.... We have executed several humanitarian projects in the past, let's keep the fire burning.

SHALOM

Last week I posted a picture and story on how I had to intervene in the payment of the school fees of 10 secondary school students of GSS, Mabuchi in Abuja who were sent home for not been able to pay a fee we could ordinarily eat SUYA with, or "hangout" with. Naturally, I do many things that I don't post, because giving to the poor should be routine. Not that I'm rich but because if you're able to feed yourself, you must share with others who can't. If you're able to pay your child's school fees, you must consistently look out for some children whose fees haven't been paid owing to social economic inequalities. I posted that gesture to drive home the point that there's a compelling imperative out there to touch lives. Same way we should not haggle or quibble with a pepper and tomato seller until she sells to us at a price without profit for her. We'll smile away but she'll SIGH in pain!
I want to say a BIG thank you to a very spirited Nigerian in the diaspora, Tope Ayedun who read my post on these less privileged students and has offered to pick 2 more from the school and pay their school fees till they become secondary school graduands. Gàníyù Olówu and I went back there yesterday to break this news and the Principal was excited and almost got emotional.
The two lucky students in are RAMATU ALIYU and ABEL AUTA. And wait for this...yesterday, ABEL AUTA soberly renounced cult involvements which he was inexcusably pushed into out of frustration and quest for delirious escapism. Tope, I know you don't like me to do this, but covering this act of goodness is tantamount to covering SMOKE with BASKET...Its impossible!

DON'T COMPROMISE
READ 1 KINGS 11:1-3
MEMORISE: As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. (1 Kings 11:4)

Knowing when to say "no", especially to loved ones, is an act which great leaders all through ages have cultivated. Sometimes, they keep silent or look for ways to avoid the questions (cf. John 8:6).
King Solomon, the acclaimed wisest man in his own time, was not that smart. His descent into evil began in a casual way. He loved many women who were strangers to his God. Soon, he married them to enter into solidified alliance with the enemies of God. At first, he resisted their idolatrous advances. But, he soon began tolerating them, until it became overwhelming around him that he got neck-deep in them. He no longer saw anything bad in idolatry, totally forgetting or ignoring the clear command of God against idol worship. From then on, his heart became imperfect before God, as he engaged in more evil activities in the sight of God. He became so corrupt that he no longer had interest in the things of God anymore.
We must understand that God's commandments are to protect us from falling into the traps set by the devil at our weak points. It is good to start well with God, but it is greater to allow Him lead us to the end. The path that leads away from God begins with a little compromise that might be considered too infinitesimal to be noticed by both God and man. In the end, it leads to regret. Beware!

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Holy Spirit, please, regularly draw me back whenever I tend towards straying from Your path of holiness and righteousness, in Jesus' name.
2. Lord, heal me of all the disease of subtle and open compromise, and restore me to the right path today.
3. Pray that the Holy Spirit should sensitize and help the Church to overcome the subtle ways in which the devil is penetrating the rank and file of churches today.

WHAT DELILAH FORGOT
READ JUDGES 16:4-5, 13-20
MEMORISE: At least there is hope for a tree: if it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. (Job 14:7)
May evil contractors targeting your destiny misfire, in the name of Jesus (amen). Delilah who was contracted on account of Samson's destiny did a perfect job from the point of view of her masters, but forgot something. Or was she ignorant of it? May be she deliberately ignored it. At least, she would have gotten her pay. As Samson's hair would grow again, his strength would be renewed/restored.
The Nazarite covenant between Samson and God would still come to play. In the prison, Samson had the opportunity to reflect on his ungodly youthful exuberance, especially his 'going down' to ally with God's enemies (16:1; KJV).
As he reflected on his mistakes, he must have begun to remember the terms of the covenant he had with God as communicated to him by his parents. He reformatted and restarted his consecration at that juncture. He called on the LORD. God wouldn't ignore anyone who calls upon Him in his distress (Psa 50:15; Rom 10:13). Added to this is the fact that God intended to use him to deliver His people from their oppressors.
God rose to the occasion as his cut hairs began to grow. Delilah and his cohorts misfired. As the hairs regrew, his strength resurfaced. All of a sudden, the mighty Arm of the LORD came upon him to effect the destruction of the enemies.
Take note: Is there any situation that seems as if the devil is taking upper hedge in your life? Just return to God, repent if it is sin that has caused it, and humbly ask for God's help. You will laugh last, because the devil and his cohorts will soon discover they have made the worst mistake by attacking you. Remember what became of the envious brothers of Joseph.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Ask God for forgiveness in areas where you have deserted His way.
2. Lord help me to be careful not to release my secret to enemies pretending to be friends.
3. Put the devil to shame over his moves against the Church in this land.

LEADERS RESOLVE CRISIS
Read:- GENESIS 13:7-12

MEMORISE: Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. (Matthew 5:9).

One of the distinguishing attributes of good leaders is the ability to resolve crises. It is one thing to acknowledge the inevitability of crisis, it is another to resolve it wisely. As a leader, do you resolve crises or escalate them? Do you help your followers to settle their differences or pitch them against one another for your selfish ambition? Some insecure leaders are not happy when their subjects are united; they are uncomfortable. They feel threatened and begin insinuating gang up.

When Abraham perceived a crisis between Lot and himself, and their respective herdsmen, due to their God-given expansions. As a wise leader, he quickly intervened to nip it in the bud. Unlike some leaders who remain indifferent to broiling crises until they fester into full-fledged unmanageable issues. True leaders don’t wait for crises to be out of hands before initiating resolution.

Finally, great leaders act proactive in ensuring that there is a ready solution even before an unavoidable crisis surfaces. What kind of leader are you? A trouble-shooter or peacemaker? Remember that frequent crises and unresolved troubles in your domain is not a sign of competence, nor is it a glory for you. It is a big minus to your capacity and personality. Promptly address crises with God’s wisdom deposited in you, by the indwelling Christ, you have accepted His Lordship.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, make me a problem-solver, solution, and fountain of Your wisdom in this dispensation.
2. Lord, make me wiser than all crises at home, in the workplace and in the church, in Jesus’ name.
3. Give our leaders the wisdom to handle all challenges that will surface in the course of their stewardship.

CRISIS DEVELOPS LEADERSHIP
READ PSALM 27:1-3
MEMORISE: Though an army besiege me, my
heart will not fear; though war break out against
me, even then will I be confident. (Psalm 27:3)
Crisis is inevitable in life. In fact, Christ has not
left us in the dark that crises will arise from time
to time (Jn 16:33). Anything can trigger crisis.
How a person handles crises reveals his/her
leadership ability, and prepares him/her to
handle future crises. David, one of the most
outstanding figures in the Bible, had many crises
experience in his lifetime - in his relationships
with God and others, in his government.
However, in the midst of these challenges, he
remained "confident". It takes faith in God and
leadership capacity developed in "the secret
place" of devotion, prayer and study of God's
Word to exhibit such calmness, focus and peace
in the face of life and career threatening crises.
When you are faced with a crisis, don't act out
of fear or panic. Remain calm. Seek God's
leading and wisdom. God has a ready-made
solution for you. The beginning of every crisis is
like a conflict (disagreement or misunderstandin
g). Even when it degenerates to a crisis, it is still
manageable, but we need to display Christian
maturity and virtues on such occasions.
Great players play best under great tension; they
raise their "game" and performance to meet the
challenge. When faced with a crisis, remember
you are a leader, not a puppet. Panic is
contagious. Great leaders neither show nor
spread it, even if they secretly feel it. See every
crisis as a chance to display your God-given
leadership ability. If you handle the challenge
well, honour and recognition await you,
otherwise...
Finally, see every crisis as opportunity to further
develop and refine your leadership capacity.
Learn lessons that can be customised and
reapplied in future situations, and for training
upcoming leaders.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, in all life challenges, help me to see and
learn what you are teaching me.
2. Specifically commit the present crisis in your
life to the Lord now.
3. Ask God to visit the crises in the Church and
our nation with permanent solutions.

LEADERS ARE CHANGE AGENTS
READ PHILIPPIANS 3:7-14
MEMORISE: Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. (Phil 3:13-14)

Change is inevitable. The absence of change is not a sign of progress; it is a proof of stagnation. True leaders are always progressive in their thinking, always probing for the next great things.
The critical questions that real leaders ask include: What positive change (spiritual, attitudinal and infrastructural) have I brought to this place? Where are we now? What new things can we still initiate and do? What are we capable of doing? How do we do these? A leader's mind-set is always on the horizon for the next move of God. Learn the lesson from Apostle Paul (cf. Phil 3:12-15).
A primary responsibility of every leader is to be a change agent wherever one is located. You are the primary change mover. Never be tired of change, because it is only constant thing. Never see as rebels those who come up with unbiased suggestions (cf. 2 Kgs 6:1-6).
As a leader, embrace positive change - biblical, progressive change. Know that when positive change is lacking, it is a sign of retrogression. True God-ordained change can only be resisted for a while; it can't be stopped permanently. Be sensitive to the move of the Holy Spirit, so that you don't keep flogging dead horses when you should have left them for the better. Also, harness the change potential of your followers. Let them generate quality ideas for you, which need to be weighed from the scale of the WORD.
Finally, know that not all change is wholesome - be discerning. As much as we desire change, the Bible must remain our boundary.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Lord, make me an agent of positive progressive change to my world.
2. Lord, let me not be complacent or stagnant in my relationship with You.
3. Pray that church and national leaders will always see the need for, and accommodate God-sent changes in their respective domains.

ACTIVE LOVE

READ HEBREWS 13:1-3

MEMORISE: In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' (Acts 20:35)

Two brothers once farmed together. They lived in separate houses on the family farm, but met each day in the fields to work together. One of them was married with a large family, while the other lived alone, being single. Yet, they divided their harvests from the fields equally.
One night the single brother thought,"My brother is struggling to support his large family, but I get half of the harvest." With love in his heart, he gathered a box of things he had purchased from his earning – items he knew would help his brother's family. He planned to slip over to his brother's shed, unload the basket there, and never say a word about it. That same night, the married brother thought,"My brother is alone. He doesn't know the joy of a family." Out of love, he decided to take over a basket with coverlet and food to "warm" his brother's house. He planned to leave the items on his porch and never say a word.
As the brothers silently made their ways to each other's home, they bumped into one another, and were forced to admit to what they were doing, and there in the darkness, they cried and embraced, each man realizing that his greatest wealth was a brother who respected and loved him.
We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give. Who are you and what are you giving? Have you found the love of Christ? Are people, your immediate family, friends, colleagues, church, etc. practically enjoying that love from and through you? Remember: Love is positively impacting lives for Christ and His gospel's sake. Do not define love; demonstrate it (1 Jn 3:18).

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, destroy every spirit of self-centredness in my life, in Jesus' name.
2. Lord, give more grace to the Church to pursue brotherly love within and outside the fold.
3. Lord, help our leaders to see cheating/fraud as a cancerous disease that must not be given the least of spaces.

BASTARD?
READ HEBREWS 12:7-13
MEMORISE: No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. (Heb 12:11)

In the African setting, people are depicted in certain ways in line with the situations surrounding their births. Some of these can be very undesirably irritating! One of such is "bastard", i.e. one who is not the true child of the parent(s) he/she claims. In fact, trying to ascertain the veracity or otherwise of such claims have resulted in loss of lives on some occasions.

Being a spiritual bastard is worse! It implies being a rebel or reprobate who constantly rejects the counsel, discipline and instructions of his Maker (Pro 1:15ff). Such abhor discipline, hating the loving reproofs and chastisement of the Lord. If anyone hates the entreaties and injunctions of the Lord, it is doubtful if he is really a child of God, Who disciplines whom He loves.

Discipleship is ineffective without loving discipline. All those who aspire to be disciples must totally embrace the Lord's discipline. Even in the Church, some place themselves above godly correction and discipline. If this is condemnable in the worldly settings, how much more in the church? The Lord installs the leadership. Therefore, all followers must be subject to godly leadership (Rom. 13:1ff).

You cannot afford to live without the instructions, correction, counsels, reproofs, and disciplines of the Lord, if you are truly His child (cf. 2 Tim 3:16,17). Do not join those moving towards destruction by their attitudes to rebuke (Prov 29:1).

PRAYER POINTS:
1. O Lord, may I never grow too big for Your tutelage.
2. Lord, help our upcoming ministers to be subject to leadership mentorship, so that they don't fall in Satan's traps.
3. Lord, restore true discipline and discipleship in Your Church.

BE CAREFUL; THE WORLD IS AGEING!
READ 1 JOHN 2:12-17
MEMORISE: The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. (1 John 2:17)

Some believe that the aged you become, the lower the level of your reasoning faculty. What an irony! That best briefly describes the world we live in; the world that has translated from various ages like wood, iron, brass, computer, to the present jet age. The world's oldest fashions of yesteryears are fast in vogue again. They are merely being recycled, while some think they are innovations. Why then the mad rush and rat race to meet with the ageing and declining world? Heavenly conscious ones don't bother to be called 'old schools' for refusing to conform to the world's fads (cf. Rom 12:2-3). The technological breakthroughs of the modern world have been discovered to wreck more havoc than benefits, especially on the youth (1 Tim 4:12; 2 Tim 3:1ff).
As a child of God in this age, you must go in His direction, not as the world dictates. We have the unchanging God and His standards although, we live in a changing world! Let everything turn upside down, the standards and foundations of God's holiness are solidly unaffected. If you are calling and are being called by God's name, you cannot afford to blend with the ills of the declining and ageing world (Jer 10:1; 2 Tim 2:19).
The ageing world will soon disappear, but if you do God's will, you will live forever. Never join the bandwagon of the corrupt! Be who you are expected to be - God's representative!

PRAYER POINTS:
1. I receive the grace to stand out in this ageing world, in Jesus' name.
2. Lord, make us Daniels who would refuse to be contaminated with kings' ungodly delicacies in this generation.
3. Lord, help Your Church and its leaders to be more aware of the need to be separated from the corrupt system of the world.

RESIST; DON'T ASSIST

READ 1 PETER 5:6-10

MEMORISE: Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)

There is much outcry everyday by people concerning "the work of the devil". Everything that goes bad/sour is said to be "the devil's work!" The devil is so portrayed and magnified as if he is omnipresent, omniscient or omnipotent, whereas he is nothing; he only succeeds on lives that consciously or ignorantly cooperate with and assist him to finish them. If Satan fails to gain control over your heart, then he cannot triumph over you.
By doing the devil's biddings, you are assisting him to have his way in your life, home, business or ministry (cf. 1 Jn 3:8a). You open up your cracks and loop holes to him when you do sin against God. The Bible expressly commands us to resist him in all ways and all that he represents (1 Peter 5:8,9). The resultant effect of resisting the devil and his agents is that he will flee from you. Our Lord Jesus Christ also resisted him when he came to Him (Jesus) with series of temptation (Matt 4:1-cool.

Stop indulging and involving in shady, questionable and ungodly 'deals' and relationships! Don't join the bandwagon of those who always blame the devil for their misbehaviours. Yes, the devil remains the mastermind of all evil, yet, God has given us the grace to say no to his advances, thus giving us no room for excuses to assist the devil to destroy us.
As you set out today's activities, resolve within you to resist the devil and never to assist him; he'll surely flee by God's power.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Oh Lord, help me never to cooperate with the devil to accomplish his purpose against me and others.
2. Lord, help Christians to be more committed to fighting the devil.
3. Holy Spirit, swiftly visit every Christian at the verge of losing their priceless salvation, with Your powerful conviction.

DECISION DETERMINES DESTINY
TEXT HEBREWS 11:23-26
MEMORISE: But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God." (Ruth 1:16)

Our decisions have far-reaching effects on others and us. The decision of Moses' parents had effect, not only on the family, but also on the whole nation of Israel. We would not have heard anything about Moses, had he decided to remain in Pharaoh's palace! (Exo 2:11-12) Note that even indecision is decision! Remember Daniel (Dan 1:cool.
Naomi and her husband, Elimelech with their two sons naively decided to quit Bethlehem in Judah, due to famine, for the godless Moab (Ruth 1:1-2). What was the outcome of that rash decision? Calamity, devastation and bereavement! Thank God, Naomi was able to pick up the pieces of her life to finally return home (Ruth 1:7). The Moabitess Ruth, a gentile, made a difficult, dangerous and dire decision to follow the uncertain and devastated Naomi to Israel (vv. 16). What is the result? She became the great, great grandmother of Jesus Christ. Jesus human genealogy would be incomplete without mentioning Ruth (Matt 1:5). What do you hear of her counterpart, Orpah?
Your present situation spiritually, maritally, vocationally and otherwise, is proportionate to the decisions you made in the past. Somebody claims that one can have power over his choice(s) but cannot control the consequence(s) of such choice(s). Have you decided for Jesus already? Your destination is heaven. Doing otherwise is eternally suicidal! Decide for Him now; tomorrow might be too late! And, watch your subsequent decisions/choices.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, help me to make wise and eternally valuable decisions.
2. Lord, mercifully deliver me from the negative results of my past ungodly decisions.
3. Pray that God should help our church and national leaders to make decisions that will only impact positively on their followers' lives.

PAYBACK TIME

READ MATTHEW 18:23-35

MEMORISE: And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matt 18:3)

It is common these days to hear people say, and of a truth, it is real that "what goes around, comes around". This is what they call the Law of Karma. In fact, the Scripture states expressly that Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows (Gal 6:7). What that simply suggests is that life is a cycle in which what you do or do not do will eventually have an effect on you, one way or the other.
In that parable given by our Lord Jesus Christ on the unforgiving forgiven servant, unfortunately, the servant came across a fellow servant who owes him less and decided to be cruel to him. Despite the plea from the fellow servant to exercise patience and allow him more time to pay the debt, he refused, and committed him to prison.

It was payback time for him when the report got to His own master who had earlier forgiven him. He was not only reprimanded for His wickedness and lack of forgiving spirit; he was thrown into prison.
Our Lord, through this parable, further emphasises his doctrine of forgiveness. He teaches that if God could forgive us our sins, we must forgive our fellow men of whatever offenses they may commit against us. Remember there is always a payback time for all good and evil, including your unreadiness to forgive and let go of others. Remember Judah (Gen 39:24-26).

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, fill me with the exceeding grace of forgiving others willingly.
2. Lord, subdue the unforgiving spirit causing inter- and intra-tribal wars in our land.
3. Lord, help both the leadership and membership of our churches to eschew unforgiving spirit, so as to put to rest the series of crises rocking the Church today.
