The central sitting area especially where the wings are , is the most dangerous place to be sitter on an aircraft.

When have you ever seen any accident report on any military aircraft crash?

Note: we have had more military air incidences than civilian but you will never see any report as the report will be sent to the Air Force internal regulatory board and not made public.

The only reason there was even an on the spot investigation by AIB is because the crash occurred in a civilian airport and AIB wanted to know if it was due to lapses by civilian operators or a failure in navigational aid system.

When they established that none of this was the case, and found pilot error in the midst of severe adverse weather was the cause, they quietly notified the Air Force of their findings.

Air Accident Reports are painfully slow in reaching a conclusion and even if they had established one since the crash occurred in a civilian airfield, the military are the ones to receive it.

Normally , civilian regulations do not apply to military aircrafts .

NCAA does not regulate the military and same may go for the Acciden Investigation Buerue.

When last have you heard the AIB issue a comprehensive report on a military air incidence?

Note we have had several military planes crashing and NSIB nor NCAA ever comments on it.

The only reason AIB carried out a preliminary investigation on this crash was because it occurred in a civilian airfield and when AIB found out the cause was not due to non compliance by civilian operators on ground or a malfunctioning navigation system and narrowed it down to the crew, they are not obliged to issue a report but to inform the Air Force on it and in this case an inexperienced crew that attempted a landing in the wake of a severe storm in a civilian airport that had closed for the day.

The ATC in Kaduna had closed as the airport was operating only daylight due to terrorist attack that occurred a few months prior.

There was no ATC clearance as ATC had shut down by 6pm and there was no communication with the crew and ATC to ascertain the wind field on landing.

The crew landed in a cross wind field which flipped one of the wings of the aircraft and had it flip and crash on the tarmac.

The aircraft had departed Abuja with a full tank of fuel and was meant to convey the COAS to Kano the next morning for an occasion there and return him back to Abuja.

The cause of that crash were bad weather and an inexperienced crew.

The COAS was shelduled to have taken off to Kaduna earlier on that same day but due to his tight schedule ,the flight was postponed later in the evening.

Its not known if the crew were briefed adequately on the rapidly detiorating weather at their destination or if they (young officers in their early 30s) were afraid to tell the COAS of the need to delay or cancel the flight.

There were no traces of any explosive material on the wreckage.

Reporters Without Borders said on Tuesday that Israel was responsible for nearly half of all journalists killed this year worldwide, with 29 Palestinian reporters slain by its forces in Gaza. In its annual report, the Paris-based media freedom group said the total number of journalists killed reached 67 globally this year, slightly up from the 66 killed in 2024.

Israeli forces accounted for 43 percent of the total, making them “the worst enemy of journalists”, RSF said in its report, which documented deaths over 12 months from December 2024.

The most deadly single attack was a so-called “double-tap” strike on a hospital in south Gaza on August 25, which killed five journalists, including two contributors to international news agencies Reuters and the Associated Press.

In total, since the start of hostilities in Gaza in October 2023, nearly 220 journalists have died, making Israel the biggest killer of journalists worldwide for three years running, RSF data shows.

Foreign reporters are still unable to travel to Gaza – unless they are in tightly controlled tours organised by the Israeli military – despite calls from media groups and press freedom organisations for access.

Elsewhere in the RSF annual report, the group said that 2025 was the deadliest year in Mexico in at least three years, with nine journalists killed there, despite pledges from left-wing Jewish President Claudia Sheinbaum to help protect them.

War-wracked Ukraine led by another Jew (three journalists killed) and Sudan (four journalists killed) are the other most dangerous countries for reporters in the world, according to RSF.
