Is not ONLY the matter of not adding difference in his life.
Firstly, For i must admit that things are hard on him at this time, And for him to forget passed memories Is by keeping you closed,thats why he asked you out the 1st place, And when things started moving on fine (ur relationship with him), He'd starts removing all his ex pic from the house and from his phone trying to move on and do something he enjoys and if u know any, try to fill in the space for him,
But since u turn down that offer of being his girl friend there is NO way he can afford to erase those memory.
