Fellow nairalander this just came up on my mind, as there as been so much debate about discrimination against Hnd holders unlike their B.sc counter part, but i want to put this to the house, should HND really be equivalent to HND,
I am of the view that HND should never be equivalent to B.sc, for the following reason,
The way the institutions awarding this degrees are strcuted,
as we know the universities awards B.sc degrees and we all know the the rigour you go through, before you get awarded this degree, talking about,  the lectures, many of them phd holders and professor, of years and years of experience,
unlike the hnd holders, where b.sc graduates and hnd graduate head the institution
secondly, you get tutored by quality lectures including professors and phd holders, while unlike the HND counterpart, mere b.sc degree holders are thier lectures, some are even hnd holders,
b.sc is really in depth into the theoretical aspect and well into practical, thats why we have the industrial training, siwes, practical for science,
this enable the b.sc graduate to know why things are done, and not just doing them, since he has a better understanding of the principles and strong foundation to build upon any practical work, this gives him and edge and make him better in acquiring further higher degree to improve his qualification
unlike the Hnd holder, he dwells basically more on practical, and does not knwo why things are done, example, enginering, an hnd graduate know the how to do the engineering work better maybe, in the practical side, but the b.sc graduate know the principles that governs engineer, which is what you need to know, before you talk about practical, even though the practical is very essential you cannot underestimate the fact that this principles and fundamental which the b.sc graduate is more deep into, make him better in carrying out more research, that can greatly improve the engineering field,  solve the world problems and bring in new innovation,

with these little tips, i believe that the hnd graduate should really be expecting the same pay, in the organization, as the b.sc conterpart cos they honestly didnt go through the same learning process,


please share your views, what do you think, dont criticise lets hear your own view, i might be wrong, it will be nice to know what you all think,
by the way i happen to be a b.sc biochem graduate from oou, dont say i am bias, lets hear what you think

An university graduate? I'm seriously ashamed of u & ur grammar, I weep for ur guardian or who ever fend for u @ the university. Ur grammar is not better than that of a meat & pepper hawker.

Guys/consultants i need ur directive and advice. I wish to apply for a masters course in oil and gas in a university in ukraine. Tho i've HND (upper credit) Chemical Engr'ng. and presently running a masters prgm in project mgt in a nigerian university hoping to round up by April 2010.
With my HND can i be considered for Ukrainian MSc pgm in oil and gas? Also, what is required of me?

Crimes happen evry day and evry where. Nigerians are not the best and they are not the worst we just don't have to blow up issues like this ourselves cos it'll do us more harm by tarnishing our reputations.

Which is true. White ppl have their own sh*t!. But how many of them do you see thronging to Nigeria Embassy to go to Nigeria by all means necessary? More often than not, when our ppl get overseas, some are not good ambassador of the country. What do you want oyibo to do. Rather than take advantage of opportunity, we abuse it. When there are too many false documents, then its only right for them to deny good documents cos the % of fakes are more than real hence the system is overtaken by suspicion.

The only difference with their system is that the % of fakes are minimal compared to the real ones. Their system can still survive. Its still their country and they can do whatever they want. Issue visa or deny it, they have the right!

U c when a bank is getting frustrated they begin to bcome a liability to acct holders. collecting different charges, The case of standart trust bank then, on my student savings acct they were charging me as if i was a biz man. at a time they retrenched most of their graduates (BSc/HND) and begin to mass recruit OND holders for peanuts. imagine that!!! For zenith, if care is not taken i envisage their own calamity. Imagine their initiated move into purchase of stocks for short term yield, i think they are all caught up by "BUBBLE BURST". I wonder y most of my guys on MPNU projects have withdrawn their accts from zenith to other banks. They claimed zenith isn't giving them facilities rather they refer them to microfinance banks. So, i asked if this big boys collect facilities from microfinance banks. what will be the fate of the poor / vulnerable households?
To Intercontinenetal again i got the sms of 10K balance from them but wasn't moved cos i'd already abandoned my acct. few days later i got another that it has been reversed to 1k, it didn't move me still. I'd advise our banks look for credible biz to invest other than exploit their individual acct holders.
