IO - drop ur pp in that basket
Me - I dropped it.
IO - where's ur quarantine card
Me - I submitted my yellow card. (They took it to the quarantine unit for assessment.)
IO - picks my pp from the basket. what's ur name
Me - XYZ
IO - what do u do?
Me - I'm a PC with XYZ coy
IO - that's an X coy
Me - yes. it's an X/Y service coy
IO - why are u here
Me - on a visit to see Malaysia.
IO - do u 've ur hotel bookings
Me - yes.
IO - stretches hand
Me - hands it over to him.
IO - how long are u staying
Me - four days
IO - how much do u 've
Me - I said 2600$ based on tips from an officer in MMIA. Although, I'd 1300$ cash. Mnyle I used my union debit card for most payments during my stay.

IO - stamps my pp for 2wks stay and hands it over to me.
Me- thank you.

interesting one op.

CrimeRe: How I Escaped Being Kidnapped By "Police" In Lagos Today by donciccio:
August 20014 I experienced same when I drove going out of Lagos. After their stop and search they couldn't find any incriminating thing so they started delaying us. My bro started discussing with them and gave them 3k.
I was so furious about the 3k when he told me that I almost dropped him or abort the trip. I asked the leading officer despite showing him my work ID and he still doubt if I'm to small to own a car or he doesn't wish well for his children.

If I'm not mistaking I think the leading officer's name is Zaccheus or Zechariah Akinyele I picked that from his uniform.

@Op- Hotstew, thank God for u.

Police is your friend they say. In Switzerland that there's no police so who's their friend?

I had similar experience there around August 2014 by the other side of the road. One morning I was traveling driving tho' stopped there to pick my bro coming from Ikeja they just blocked me their Siena car. Asked why I parked there I told them other cars are parked also y me? They requested for my docs I gave them after checking they gave me back and started checking inside my car, checked boot and all bags in the boot. Thereafter they started checking my phone and my laptop. By the time they switched on laptop it hanged, ordinarily it doesn't act that way. As a result of that they begin to delay us my bro started discussing with them and finally gave them 3k not to delay us cos we going across the niger.
I was so furious about the 3k when he told me that I almost dropped him or abort the trip. I asked the leading officer despite showing him my work ID and he still doubt if I'm to small to own a car or he doesn't wish well for his children.

Jumia and Olx re first class scammers, besides why buy anything from jumia when their price tag is always times two of normal price in the market?

I been leave una 4 scam wey una scam me, bt no nairalander readily available ll fall for ur useless lies and scam here
I don't know of olx but I can't trust jumia again.

I bought memory card 32g from them at #3500 + transport. it never worked for one day. I called their mobile I found online several times it never worked out. one day I found their customer care email and mailed them after verifying my purchase they responded that my purchase has exceeded 2 weeks so they can't change it. Despite explaining that I've tried their listed numbers and it all failed they were adamant to my request.

My question to them was u gave a warranty period of 2 weeks, y sale fake or substandard goods at all? After our exchange of mails someday went to ikeja and strolled through computer village and decided to check on the card got original 32g card for #1500. I'm still using it till date since November 2014. Working perfectly.

Since then I've seen many things would have liked to buy from their newsletters to me but "once bitten twice shy."

@donciccio, sorry about the outcome. It is clear form the letter, that the ECO does not think that its wise for you to spend 3x your monthly disposable income for just a vacation in the UK. You did not also provide details plans on what you will do while in the UK. You can reapply anytime, but your application will also be processed putting into consideration if you have fully addressed the reasons for your last refusal.
@ekpotek, thanx for your response but I've some one who earns less than my disposable income and still got visa with vac cost of 500k. I think the eco is not fair. I agree I might not have provided enough information as to what to do but the same information was provided by the person I know and was given visa.

You over budgeted your trip and end you spending more than 3 months of your salary within a short period. And you did you explain what you are going to do in the UK that necessitated spending about half a million naira with few days in th UK
@Justwise, greetings- sorry for the delay to reply engaged with work. don't really think I over budgeted it's just that the exchange rate was a factor to the increase in naira cost. Moreover it's not 3 months of my salary but my disposable income.
Also, I stated what I was going to do. Some few places to visit. I think the eco wasn't fair in this judgement.

It is so funny when an entry clearance officer says that the total amount available for the tripis 5X your disposable income. Let me explain, salary is 162,000 And you indicate that you spend 60,000 monthly, leaving you with a disposable income of about 100,000. You propose to spend about 550,000 including flight ticket, hotel bills and living expenses. you have been working for over a year o. This guys will take into consideration only one month's disposable income and compare it with what you propose instead of the disposable income that you have saved over the period of time of employment, even when you show them an account where the monies are saved. This is ridiculous.
mate, that same applies to me. these ecosystems are sometimes very funny with what they say when they don't want to give visa.

Hello guys in the building, I've successfully submitted my supporting documents and completed my biometric today at teleperformance, churchgate tower 2, VI.
I'd my appointment for the afternoon session and it did went well. With good attention from the security guy/babe at the entrance to the guy at the front desk that sighted my documents. I moved upstairs and was cleared by another friendly security guys through the access scanner. Then I proceed to another friendly and pretty lady she viewed my application form and pp before sent to the documents submission room. Here I was attended to by another friendly and interactive lady who finally checked all my documents and filed it in a bag for me. Finally, I was sent to the biometric room and the process was completed with the aid of another friendly lady.
The process was smooth and the place calm too, I guess my timing was right.

Nairalanders, kindly pray and wish me well for favourable and positive outcome.

NB: now I can contribute to some questions relating to this visa application.

Tranquill:
Please while filling the form online do you have to submit the electronics copy of supporting documents like bank statement, accommodation etc or you only submit the hard copy when you are going for biometrics? Secondly, do you chose the day you want to do your biometrics or it generates authomatically depending on other people in queue? Thanks.
@Tranquill, I'm sincerely sorry for this delay to respond to you, I just didn't see your request and no pop up on my phone.
There's no room for electronic supporting documents submission. so you can only submit your supporting documents in hardcopy when you go for your biometric.
secondly, biometric date is generated automatically with available dates so you can choose from the list of dates and time.
I hope this is not coming late for you bro.

Good day Vicjustice, Justwise and fellow Nlers, I've completed and submitted my UK visit visa application and have scheduled my biometric later this week. yesrerday my friend was going thru my application and spotted the column where they requested if one has been denied visa by any country including the UK in the last 10years. Although I've been denied by UK and US 2years ago but only acknowledged that of UK and not of US in the form cos I think it's not necessary. My question, is it necessary to state I've been denied by US too? And now tht I've submitted the application can I state that on a plain sheet and attach to my documents to be submitted?
pls my good people your kind urgent response is required.

That amount is not too much because its still within 2months of your salary, all you need is the breakdown of how you tend to spend that amount, then list of places to visit.
The difference between this and the previous one is the online application and payment system. You still have to submit the same documents you submit online physically at their visa centre.
Thanx boss @Justwise. @Vicjustice, I didn't see your brake light here sir. cheers men!!!

Your current salary is good and with proper preparation you should be able to get a visa.
Make a budget of your trip, makes list of places you wish to visit while in the UK and add it to your above list.
Don't forget to acknowledge the previous refusal.
10Q.. 10Q... 40x @Justwise. I really appreciate you guys and the great advice and courage y'all are offering here. like I stated in my first post I intend to spend 550k for the trip. is that okay considering the exchange rate of naira to pound? Also, what's the difference between the previous application process and the new process? I heard of so blah blah blah about how difficult this new application process is.
