Guys, it depends on mileage. IMO, for 2005 model cars upward use specified synthetic class oil and service atmost mileage coverage of 3000. Although often times I service mine before covering 3000 and I use Honda specified oil 5W20.

I met a northerner who's a boy to a boss-boy to a boss. We entered into a discussion ranging from topics then we landed in politics and what he reiterated on was jagaban is too greedy that he's asking too much but he's going down this time. Flashing back, after PMB was sworn in I could remember some northern elites came on air to say BAT isn't their national leader but just a party member. That's to tell you that whatever is happening now has been predetermined.
Fani Kayode might be tagged senseless but there's sense in most of his posts.

Blackberrybabes:
We know this is not the best of times for Nigeria, but what a lot of new generation Nigerians don't know is that the Naira used to be more valuable than the dollar in those years. Those were the times when the country didn't depend much on Petroleum. The economy was so strong that our currency was being spent in other European countries, even in the UK.
We hope things are going to get back on track.

@Op, give us the exchange rate in 1984 when Buhari was in charge let's compare and contrast.

@ItsmeAboki, I really appreciate you bro. God bless you.

Based on your advise I google their (dstv) email so I mailed them copying the mail above to them and stating they should activate my decoder else I escalate it to the regulatory authority and general public.
Some minutes later I saw their reply requesting for my details which I sent to them. Then this evening I received the email above that I've been connected. Although I'm not home yet from work to confirm. But I hope it's been done.

Oga Seun and his super mods, it seems NL have lost it's value/mission that only crass issues are being promoted on this platform. It's inscrutable that well meaning Nigerians now walk past NL as a forum. Vividly I can still remember those days when NL is our place of solace and enquiries from jobs, education, auto, travel etc, not only for Nigerians but globally. What has happened?

Tell them you will report them to NCC and do so if they fail to redeem their promise; though I am sure the threat alone should be enough - South African Companies are now afraid of Nigeria (seeing what happened to MTN). Good luck.

Thanx brotherly. Really appreciate you. Will try that.
Crime / Dstv Criminal Act by donciccio: 7:16pm On May 25, 2016
Hello Nairalanders, I will appreciate if well meaning Nigerians can provide me with the contact of the regulatory body of cable networks in Nigeria and advise on how to follow this up legally.
I've been a regular subscriber to dstv's premium bouquet specifically because of football. Right from 9k+ to 11k+ to 13k+. Having run the 13k+ bouquet for almost a year I then discovered they've been charging me 2k for dual view which I don't make use. And they wouldn't even allow a sec of free view after expiration of subscription considering the additional 2k charged which I don't make use of.
As a result of dwindling income, anger of the 2k couple with the fact that I seldomly watch the cable when there is no soccer I halt my renewal of the cable. Months later I received several calls from their customer service asking why I have not renewed for some time. I vent my anger and suggested if they can offer me 10 to 15 channels of my choice at 8-10k then I will renew my subscription. Some of the customer service agents asked if I could come to their office and discuss that with their management although I never went.
On the 14th of March, 2016 I received a call from dstv's customer service that there's a promo going on that I can now pay for a Compact plus bouquet of 9k+, with all the relevant super sport channels to watch my football and get one month free if payment is made on/before 17/03/16. However, I was thrilled so renewed my subscription on the 15/03/16. By end of March I called the CS (customer service) twice to ask if my one free month has been activated, after collecting my smart card info they said NO but that they will escalate it to the necessary authority to act on it. In first week of April, 2016 I further renewed my subscription again by paying another 9k+. Between 08-15/04/16 I called CS twice again if they've activated my free one month they said NO except my new payment, but that they'll escalate it to the necessary authority to act on it. I kept my cool. By the last week of April and first week in May I called once in each week to ask of my free one month. After wasting my credit to request for my card info they both told me NO but that they will escalate it to the necessary authority to act on it. After the last call I became so ire that I decided not to pay again unless they give me the free one month.
Meanwhile, during the calls none of the customer service agent denied that I am entitled to a free month view. So I wonder why would they not activate me after two months. As a result of that I'd to go watch FA cup, Europa, Copa Delrey outside. Not sure of UCL too.
Pls nairalanders this sounds more of a scam to me so I need to follow it up so that we won't be taken for a continuous ride in this country not at this tough times.
And if you've been in this situation before how did you work it out?

Bros, pls help me help a frnd In need. My frnd has gone to the embassy like 8tyms naw for his masters degree to study accounting in Colorado technical University and was denied and still keep pushing hard in same school. His major challenges is this question. Why do u choose Colorado technical University to others since u are going there for your masters when you av many other sch that can offer u the best in accounting? Though many reasons has been given in d past but not convincing enuf. Pls I need a convincing answer to this question as he is preparing to go for one before the month end. Pls ur idea or contribution might go a long way. Thanks

To me I think another flag off is him choosing a technical school instead of an Accounting or Management school. Schools in western world often specializes as indicated by their names unlike in Nigeria where a management school specializes in Law and medicine and you wonder the need for the management in the name of the school.
However, I think he should give reasons on need to learn modern accounting principles and applications. Use of modern accounting softwares and techniques which are readily available in the western world.
Finally, he should pray for God's favour. Because God factor is 80%, his performance is 15%, leave 5% to the V.O.
My 2 cent. Goodluck!!!

Car Talk / Re: Does A Car Consume More Fuel When The AC Is On HI Than On LO by donciccio: 8:34am On Apr 11, 2016
Siena:

With the older magnetic clutch-type compressor (fixed displacement) once the clutch is engaged, the engine will use a bit more fuel. Altering the temperature setting will NOT increase fuel consumption, however altering the blower speed will affect fuel consumption marginally, due to more voltage being drawn, and therefore more load on the engine via the crank-driven alternator.

With the later clutchless-type compressor (variable displacement) fuel consumption is proportional to temperature setting. This is because it has the pistons mounted on a swash plate. Altering the temperature alters the angle of the swash plate from shallow to steep, with the steepest angle giving more piston swept volume, and therefore more load on the engine. Altering the blower speed will have a marginal effect on fuel consumption as in the older system.

Crime / Scam! Scam!! Scam!!! by donciccio: 6:45pm On Mar 03, 2016
Hello Nairalanders,

Beware of the scamming prowls around/about. This morning I received an SMS with a headline and sender as "HELP LINE"
Msg reads: "Dear customer, due to the new BVN policy as directed by the CBN your ATM card has been deactivated to reactivate, kindly call customer care 07011121561. Thank you."

On my way driving to work i decided to dial the number given above. I knew it was a scam but I decided to please my curiosity; so I called the number stated.

Me: placed call 'grinnnnnnn'
Scammer: hello sir & good morning sir
Me: good morning. I received an SMS from you about bvn.
Scammer: have you done your bvn sir
Me: I think I've done it
Scammer: you think or you have done it?
Me: I think! Em.. I think "acts as if I'm not sure" but oga which bank are you calling from?
Scammer: this is CBN customer care, Abuja. my name is Bello Hassan. when you went to the bank did they do bio metric for you, did they take your finger prints?
Me: okay! Yes, I've done it in one of my accounts.
Scammer: which bank?
Me: Access Bank
Scammer: Ok. Give me your first bank ATM card number. do you have it with you there?
Me: my ATM card is in my wallet. first bank?
Scammer: Yes. give me your first bank ATM card number.
Me: but I don't have first bank account. Ole!!!
Scammer: cuts call.

Ladies/Gents, please be careful, ask questions when you don't understand especially on bank/financial issues from fam/friends so you don't become another victim of financial fraud. Finally, don't be greedy.

I feel bad seeing how lost our youths are. Lost and bamboozled. They can't tell right from wrong anymore. Why they should be in school studying, thinking out ideas on how we can move Nigeria and Africa. They are busy making news with protests for worthless things. When will the protest for government intervention in youth unemployment take place? Or the one for lack of clear policy direction in our country? Lets us wake up oo and stop deceiving ourselves o.. This is not the time for fighting for one sect leader. Who resists the state should deal with the state. Those that the state has failed should speak up on things that they the state has failed to provide them.

talkative; are you born to be a follower? You can lead the protest let others follow. otherwise leave the IMN to their protest it's their right.
