Business / Re: BUA Cement Declares Profit Of ₦95 Billion For Full Year, 2020 by doncum(m): 8:35am On Feb 15, 2021 |
I hope you realise that cement is selling at 2700 direct from the factories. It's retailers that are making the huge margins on the price due to scarcity because one of Lafarge's plant has broken down and Dangote had some issues too which they have now fixed. That's why the BUA man was saying more players are needed to boost capacity but who wants to drop $300miliion to build a new plant? Who? Southern businessmem especially need to reevaluate what kind of wealth they want to create. Let them put their money where their mouth is NwaAmaikpe: |

If anything, The asiwaju and Jagaban Borgu brought Yoruba people closer to the centre than ever. This is the same person who brought Lagos to where it is today in terms of development. Maybe you are too young to know how Lagos was before 1999 Ahmeduana: 1 Like |

His plea has always been that the actiona of NPA were against the concession agreement. Nigeria stands to lose about 150million dollars in arbitration which NPA took to London against FG rules. Wise choice by the government, I think. @Moderator please repost the previous link fron their fight here so we can have a background information Balenciagaokey: |

Do you know how many health interventions Aliko Dangote, Abdul Samad Rabiu and Jim Ovia alone are sponsoring and building acroaa Nigeria? Those three alone apend more than some state governments in putting infrastructure for health and education in place across nigeria. Next time, let us exercise our franchise properly and vote wisely so we don't equate private sector Philanthropy to good governance from our elected government AreaFada2: |

On the contrary, thia same man told his staff to stay hone even after the lockdown was called off and promised that no retrenchment will be done. Most of the bua staff i know have been working remotely since 2 weeks before the lockdown. If that isn't a responsible company, I dont know what is. It seems people don't know that Mr. Rabiu owns the 3rd largest company on the stock exchange or that he is also ranked 3rd on the forbes list of billionaires from Nigeria. Hia Cement company alone is bigger than the biggest bank in Nigeria talk less of sugar and others Mile18: |

Since you want to be ignorant, I'll take this one time to break it further down for you. 1. An epidemiological response is more than just about clinical cases alone. 70% of the work is in operations - from moving medical supplies and all to contact tracing to community mapping. 2. None is more important than the other. In addition, Ambulances are restricted in their use. Using ambulances for operational purposes as mentioned in 1 above, takes them away from where they are most needed which is moving confirmed cases or referrals. 3. I understand that you may not have the benefit of all the information but none of these people donating are doing ao blindly. It is mostly based on need. Right now, Kano's need isn't ambulances but the need to do as many incidence tracking and community mapping of cases based on the time lag in testing and confirmation. I'm an epidemiologist by training and that's my 2 cents. I'm not arguing further sir. Be that as it may, they should be conmended for stepping up to support in any way at this time. Thank you, Odetokun3: 1 Like |

It is estimated that Nigeria will need about 120billion naira to combat this. Good luck waiting for the government to do this alone. We should be grateful we have private sector individuals who can step and support in these times of not, may Italy and Spain not be our portion in this covid-19 fight Origin: |
