I'm not supporting the policy...however the statistics you provided referred to native speakers and not general speakers or countries who adopt the language as their official language. Nigerians ain't considered as English native speakers...meanwhile it's our official language. When you add up both native speakers and persons who speak the language generally I'm sure English will top the chat followed prob ably by either Spanish, French or Portuguese (the reason is not far fetched because these people engaged in colonisation and imparted their language on others) and then Chinese, German etc

Look at the bold part of your write-up, I believe the USA which is one of the greatest country on earth is an example. Obama after the 2008 election took almost 3 months to fully settle in, why was this? Because it came at a time where the country was witnessing an economic downslide. So please don't say what you don't know! You said don't blame GEJ, even after witnessing all the atrocities committed by those he appointed and you still maintain that he is not at fault, come on guy that's bull! Buhari is not a saint, Buhari is slow and Buhari can easily be taken advantage of but there's one thing we know about Buhari, he is not one to sit back and do nothing! You keep mentioning feeding as if that's the only thing wrong with the budget, there were numerous areas of the budget that needed to be adjusted and thanks to the enlightened voice of the Nigerian people, the budget has been amended. I know you would like to blame Buhari for the state of the economy and I guess that would be the easier choice than to blame your hero GEJ but facts are facts, he inherited an economy on life support! Let Buhari continue working and judge him in 2019, if he fails we can vote him out, if the economy gets better then he's vindicated!
lol bro, appointing ministers is different from a government taking off immediately, i didnt make reference to Buhari appointing ministers after 6 months. Obama took off immediately knowing full well he has a lot to do, he didnt sit back and start blaming the previous administration (of course we all know USA went into recession under the government before him, but then he realised Americans voted him in because they believe he had the capacity to turn things around, he didnt go on a blame game cuz government is a continuity, he also didnt go on a honey-moon like Tinubu told us that PMB was on a 6 month honey-moon. Bros, there are no facts, all you hear are mere newspaper gossips and what lawyers call "hearsay". Take the people to court, if you have all the facts as you claim, ensure a speedy prosecution and let the court return a conviction. Till date, nobody has been convicted, 8months gone under the new administration and the only thing we are hearing is bail, bail bail. Bail and arraignment are the first things in a prosecution...this shows you that the trial itself has not even kicked off. Bro, GEJ is not my hero, i'm old enough to be my own person. If i need a hero or role model, it will be persons who have attained the highest heights in my profession. And i never said GEJ was or is a saint and will never do that; everybody have their own limitations. I am merely pointing out your inconsistencies telling you that PMB wasnt elected to blame GEJ, he was elected to fix things he told the electorates were wrong with the system. You know, in an argument, the moment the other person leaves the issue at stake and starts personal attack (in logic its called "the fallacy of ad hominem"wink, i will walk out. So before you proceed from giving me a hero to something more mundane and horrendous, its good i say sweet dreams. Nice chatting with you on political issues.

Bro are you kidding me there's really no difference between 5 or 7 months what matters is the amount of damages done in those months? Do you know the amount of damages done by the GEJ led government in the first 5 months of 2015? At least we all saw how certain contracts and appointments were made during those months. Seven months is not enough to start posting positive trends in terms of economic development or corruption index. It is barely enough to stop the decline! I know it's hard to believe but if you look at advanced countries after a change in government, it takes one to two months to fully settle in, it took Buhari longer because of the mess created by the previous administration. If we are being truthful, we can all agree that the GEJ led government is responsible for the economic mess we are in right now and it is going to take more than 7 or 8 months to fix things!
lol oya keep up the blame game...when you wake up in the morning, look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, "have you blamed GEJ today?" Bros, Governance doesnt work that way, an elected government settles in immediately after taking oath of office, nobody waits a month or two before working, if you know of any country that does that please let me know. PMB had more than 13 years to prepare for governance, that was what the electorates was made to believe during the campaign, how come you are making excuses now for him? Bros please wake up, today you blame GEJ, tomorrow you blame God, the next day you will blame the devil. Please when are you gonna look inward and ask yourself if you are not the problem...thats the meaning of introspection. We cant continue living this way. You are paid as a president while still you want the nation to feed you, Your predecessor budgeted 530 million for feeding in 2015, you budgeted 1.7 billion...is that not corruption to the highest order. I guess you will blame GEJ too for PMB budgetting 1.7 billion for his feeding. Bros, the moment we accept that these politicians are all the same and doesnt have the interest of the masses at heart, it is that day that TRUE CHANGE would dawn on Nigeria. In the mean time keep living in denial...suffering and smiling

Well Okotie Eboh was from the Mid-West. You should have also reminded me that the coup which slaughtered people from other regions including Okotie Eboh was led by a man from the Mid-west named Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, and not an easterner. He hailed from present day Asaba in Delta State, and from your Okotie Eboh line of argument, he wasnt Igbo and so it wasnt an Igbo coup. Just to help Rose reply you a bit. Everyone brought out theirs for slaughter in 1966 except the east. Okotie Eboh was from the east in 1966 and not the south south. What happened 6 months after the one-man slaughter per each region? The whole eastern elites were slaughtered. What happened a year after in 1967? The whole nation waged war against the east in which more than 2 million easterners died...are you still talking about the past? Easterners bank accounts and properties were shamefully and unlawfully confiscated and given only 20 pounds in return...please don't just selectively raise the past in order to suit your argument. I know that and I believe Buhari should obey court orders but the reality of it all is that Dasuki and Kanu are facing serious charges and are thus flight risks if granted bail, That said he should obey court orders.
who decides on bail...the president or the court? i wonder how you guys reason. A court has given its orders and you are here trying to justify dictatorship. Do you even know the dictates of the law? those people are innocent until convicted by the court,so till then they have committed no offence. Do you even know or does Buhari know the full meaning of treasonable felony or the elements of the offence? If you can borrow the Criminal Code please go read Section 41 on treasonable felonies. By then you will understand that even if the offence was to be established against the accused person that the highest punishment it can attract is life imprisonment. People who committed capital offences are admitted to bail not to talk of an offence carrying just a jail term. if you believe or Buhari believes they are flight risks, they should make the argument to the court not to the tv. there's separation of powers and PMB is impeding on the powers of the judiciary. It is not APC propaganda, it shows that APC are really buying judgments, that those judgments were already written and the details given to newsmedia to announce once the courts pronounce them. This is not a coincidence, this is pure bastardaization of the judiciary. Sahara reporters did it in the case of Akpabio, now this has happened. The Akpabio gaffe, to the discerning minds, "forced the Appeal Court to drop the already written judgment and deliever an unbiased one in favour of Akpabio so that the bastardization wont be obvious". We are finished, so court judgments are now written by the politicians and announced by their media outlets even before the courts pronounce them. How did we get here? Dont be surprised the Court of Appeal, as was done in Akpabio's case, may give a different ruling other than the one circulated today so as to keep fooling us. Nigeria is doomed. How and where did the news outlets get the judgment they "delievered" to us? Am i part of this rotten system?

TunezMediaBlog:
Information making the round reveals how a popular House of Reps member allegedly had canal knowledge with three sisters of the same mother.

According to Citypeople magazne, it was revealed that the Reps member is from one of the south-eastern part of the country.

Known as a catholic; in his search for a Catholic Church where he would do confessions, dirty secrets about his sex escapades with the three sisters were revealed.

The Honourable member is known for his randy character at the NASS and all the areas he visits for service in the city. It was gathered that once he spots a chic he likes, he does not hesitate to go after her, and he does everything within his capacity to woo the lady over.

It was gathered that the three sisters who the House of Reps Member had slept with lived not too far from the spa, where the Honourable uses. It was learnt that he sighted the two sisters during one of his visits to the spa and he took an interest in them. One thing led to the other, he started dating the older eldest sister.

He took her on a shopping spree and they went on vacation to exotic places. He bought gifts for her and for her two other younger sisters. Further information revealed that the one of the younger sisters got the phone number of the Honourable from her elder sister’s phone to show appreciation.

With the call, the Honourable member encouraged her to come and see him privately. That was how he got the second lady who is believed to be twenty-three year old.

The Honourable’s predation didn’t stop there. The lawmaker went ahead to use another trick to get to meet the youngest sister. It was gathered that the lawmaker asked the eldest sister to organise a birthday party for the youngest sister which he footed the bills and appeared briefly.

During the party, the honorable Lawmaker slipped some dollars and his complimentary card into the hands of the Twenty year old girl. Since then, he has been dating the three sisters taking them randomly on trips outside the country and spoiling them with gifts.

Though it not certain if the three sisters are aware of the game the randy lawmaker is playing, but it was gathered that he usually buys gifts for the three sisters during his trip with any of them.

He however confessed that he enjoys the company of the younger sister as she is more daring in erotic activities.

The randy lawmaker was said to have complained openly to a friend of his, that he has virtually visited all the Catholic Churches in the city for confession and in search for other Catholic Church branches in the area so he can go for more confession.

Lies spotted. why must you drag in religion into your affair? If you dont know anything about catholic church, why not keep your mouth shut? It is posts like this that make some persons desire for sanity in social media and news reportage... No name, no address, no source, misrepresenting a church... As a catholic, you dont need a church to confess, you do that to a priest(you can even have your confession in the market before a priest). Again, one confession is enough for the particular sins confessed, you dont need to confess a sin severally and before different priests before it is absolved. Finally, go get a life and let the church be. if you feel a news is worthy of reportage, mention the identity of the persons involved(unless they are minors), mention the location. we are not here for baseless and unfounded rumours

PoliticsRe: Car Gift From Dasuki - Official Statement from the Presidency by dondaddycares(m): 10:11pm On Dec 15, 2015
While it is true that one armoured SUV and one untreated SUV were sent to the President in the aftermath of the attack, the vehicles were in keeping with his entitlements as a former Head of State under the Remuneration of Former Presidents and Heads of State (And other Ancillary Matters) Decree of 1999.
Section 3, Sub Section 1 of that Decree provides that three vehicles will be provided for former heads of state and replaced every four years.
There was therefore nothing untoward, illegal or tending to corruption in former Head of State Buhari and Presidential aspirant, as he then was, receiving vehicles, to which he was statutorily entitled , from the Federal Government of Nigeria.
www.saharareporters.com/2015/12/15/president-buhari-received-no-monetary-compensation-jonathan-presidency-attack-his-convoy[/quote]Replaced every 4 years? and not on every attack? Each government that comes into power after every election replaces the cars. The last PMB cars before the attack wasafter 2011 election. 1. ONSA replacing a former HOS bombed vehicles is not a "gift". The government is by law responsible to replace them either when damged or get written off through accident since they're government properties in the first place.

2. The president has submitted statement to EFCC (check it online) that he didn't receive a KOBO from Dasuki at any time. So, should it not be Dasuki to prove that Buhari indeed received money from him. Mind you this allegation was not even from Dasuki but an unnamed aide which can always be denied later.

3. Again, Adesina's statement was very clear and unambiguous. "Nothing beyond what was statutorily due to him as past HOS" is clear enough except for those who who like to confuse themselves.

Stop twisting this case. Let Dasuki spill the beans in law courts.
Bros nobody is twisting anything. The President has written a statement to the EFCC and its online? you believed it. I believe Bafarawa, Dokpesi and the rest also made their own statements...did you believe them or the explanation they offered? Please quote the law, whether its an Act, Edit, Law, Decree, Constitution or even the Interpretation Act that empowered the NSA to maintain the past HOS so as to enlighten us the more. You dont make assumptions based on what is favourable to your own political leaning while thrashing the rest. Your continued use of Adeshina's words without knowing the full implications worries me, even an ordinary English student who didnt study law at all will know the full implications of making a general denial. It seems you know more than PMB and his handlers in this case, may be you will do well to help them fine tune their public defence...of course PMB wont be dragged to court, but just like propaganda drew the accused persons to the court of public opinion so will also the name of PMB be dragged to the commoners court for public trial and condemnation.

1. Dasuki is a dying man and will naturally do what anyone in his shoes would do.

2. Dasuki's aide claimed Buhari got $300k and the presidency has clearly denied it. It's left for Dasuki to prove the allegation. Was the money received by cash or through bank tranfer?

3. Getting vehicles from FG is statutory entitlement of past HOS. Did Dasuki use arms deal money to provide what was statutorily provided for? If he did, what happened with the budgeted money for that purpose? Or did Buhari get vehicles from ONSA and also got from another arm of government?

Dasuki is drowning already and will try to hang on to even any weightless leave around him. Let him tell his stories to the judge in court.
I'm not quarreling with the fact that you tagged him a dying man, as you can see i didnt argue the point. My quarrel is, it is not the duty of the NSA to maintain past HOS, if you check the budgets, it is never included under the duties, functions or expenses of the NSA. It is not even the duty of the NSA to touch military budgets at all, Dasuki merely hijacked the duty and the army chiefs coward because Dasuki had a strong backing. The duty of the NSA under the extant laws is to advice, and not to spend. Please do well to read up the duties of the NSA. Now PMB collected gifts from a man who had no right or legal backing to give such gifts. The government spokesperson had an opportunity of rebutting the accusation and all he could come up with was that it was PMB's statutory entitlement...statutory entitlement from the wrong channel? Again, Dasuki alleged to have changed PMB's cars after the boko haram attack on him, the government spokesperson didnt deny or traverse that but maintained it was his statutory entitlement(negative pregnant traverse). So replacing cars after boko haram attack is part of the statutory entitlement? I wonder when all those who had lost life, limb and property in the hands of the boko haram will get their own replaceable statutory entitlement. Also, Dasuki alleged to have given PMB $300,000...the government spokesperson still mainatined it is PMB's statutory entitlement...in dollars? GOd dey watch una, after APC will accuse GEJ's government of dollarising the economy while PMB was a recepient of the dollarisation policy. Finally, you are calling on Dasuki to provide evidence that he gave PMB the money and other gifts before you will accept the veracity of such claims. I wonder if you also called on Dasuki to provide proofs on other allegations concerning other individuals like the female unknown blogger, Bafarawa, Nwobodo, Bode George etc. You believed them straight away without asking for evidence, why is it so hard for you to swallow or believe too that PMB was a beneficiary of the sleaze? Finally, you believed the totality of the allegation against Dasuki without calling on his accusers to show evidence or were you shown "proof of evidence" in secret? Try to be objective and on the side of legality bro. I rest my case. Good night.

So, if NSA is mandated to provide statutory entitlements to former Heads of State and presidents, how does it become a ground to embezzle all monies meant for something else?

And the topic is more than misleading. Femi Adesina didn't confirm Buhari received money from Dasuki. So, why saying he confirms Buhari received money from him?

Dasuki is a sinking man who will always try to grab unto leaves even though he knows he will eventually get drowned.
Now all of a sudden you've started sounding defensive because PMB was involved. No more the offensive Passingshot. Now you wanna tell Femi adeshina what to say, a question bothering on benefits from sleaze was thrown to him and all he could muster was the reply he gave...bro, it is an admission of the whole statement. In law, there is what is called Negative-Pregnant Traverse, it means a denial which works as an admission. Thats what PMB's spokesperson just displayed. Now to the main issue; was the past NSA under the law required to maintain past heads of states? you can provide proof to that effect and where the said maintenance was contained in the appropriation Acts. Let us be objective in our analysis. If you decide to leave the substance of the argument and go on a voyage of personal attacks i will kindly ignore you

Hey RareDiamond,

I think you do not need to insult people to get your point across. Your responses are not exactly correct either. Oil wells are just mediums through which the oil in the reservoirs are brought to the surface (produced). I am a reservoir engineer and it sickens me when ever people mistake oil well from oil blocks or even from reservoirs. Although the wells can be situated at a position in Anambra state, the reservoir can run the entire extent of the block even as far as Benue and Edo states.

For a fact the wells are situated in Anambra, but the block boudaries run a significant amount into Kogi states and therefore subsurface interpretation can show that some part of the pools can be within Kogi state. From the last map I saw regarding this, most of the prospects were within the Kogi boundary although the faults were dipping towards Anambra. I bet that Orient and the Amambra state government will be paying some backlog taxes if this is propoerly explored.

Just a thought tho. I reaffirm that I do not think insulting someone online is the best approach to handling reasonable arguments. There are better and more peaceful ways of getting your message across.

Thanks
Oga the contention is the oil well and not the oil reservoir or block boundaries, let us not politicise everything or talk from regional leaning. People's lives are at stake because of these confrontations. Are the oil wells situate(some will try to correct my english saying its "situated", "situate" is a legal term in land matters) in Anambra? if yes, then the boundary commission should reflect that so that the respective boundary communities will lcoexist harmoniously. It shouldnt be about oil politicss, it should be about telling everybody where his or her boundary ended so as to avoid the inter-tribal or communal war. Forget your engineering pedigree, draw the surface map and leave the underground or whatever it contains because the sub-ground belongs to the federal government likewise the air space.
