Sexina851: Why if I may ask and why do you take tramadol? |
Health / Re: Nigerian Guy Who Almost Died Of Drug Overdose Shares His Moving Story by Dongreat(m): 11:46pm On May 29, 2017 |
Sexina851: Most drugs causes nausea. I am not too sure about the mechanism yet but it has to do with the arachnoids, prostaglandins which is found on all cells of the body. Usually formed from cleaved lipids from the plasma membrane. I think it's prostaglandins E2 that induces vomiting . Common side effects of most drug as said earlier include nausea, tiredness and vomiting. If you are using these opiate drugs and still using for a long time, please I suggest you stop and switch to NSAIDs such as aspirin or ibuprofen. |
Health / Re: Nigerian Guy Who Almost Died Of Drug Overdose Shares His Moving Story by Dongreat(m): 8:30pm On May 29, 2017 |
Sexina851: The reward pathway consist of about 4 different types but opioids is connected to the mesolimbic pathway (another discussion of neuroscience). Basically it has to do with the release of the neurotransmitters "DOPAMINE" from the ventral tagmental area (VTA) into the nucleus accumbens (NA). TraMadol when taken is released from the bloodstream and pass the blood brain barrier into the brain where it binds to the opioid receptor (MU receptor), causing a release of inhibitory GABA neurotransmitter which is picked up by another pre synaptic neurons that cause the release of dopamine. Opiate slow the MU receptor causing pain relief and dopamine release is responsible for the euphoria i.e. happy feelings. But dopamine is short acting and it's re-uptake back into neurons. This lead to a relapse of the happy feelings. So inorder to cause more happy feelings, you take more opiate, and more and more until you desensitized the pathway. The feelings you get from good food (cake, jollof rice), likes from selfie, passing an exam and of course sex is caused by the release of dopamine. 2 Likes |

Sexina851: Yep. He will keep getting a higher dose due to his overuse of the drug to produce a better euphoria feeling and eventually damage his reward pathway, i.e. the reward pathway becomes unresponsive. At the end he may administer a much more higher dose that will lower his cadio beyond recovery, leading to death from heart failure (causes of death from drug overdose). 1 Like |

Sexina851: Like I said TM has no ceiling effect so it's possible to take more than 1500mg. May 1500mg was the dose that reward his pathway. It's quite broad an explanation for opiate mechanisms. Understand that opiate has no ceiling effect. 1 Like |

Sexina851: It's life threatening, reasons why it's administered in low doses. It's opiate base and unfortunately all opiate drugs don't reach ceiling effects, so you may take a low dose and experience no effect, causing you to increase the dose not knowing you are overdosing. So yep it's life threatening. 1 Like |

Originalsly: Agreed. Opiate are fantastic at being analgesic but notorious for addiction and it's the reason why it's administered at a small dose. since it triggers the reward pathway, it will be difficult to control by both pharm companies and government. There are videos of real life people including animations to show the effect of drugs of abuse and it's up to the individual to know when enough is enough. 1 Like |

2dugged: I never said that please but just making you understand that opiate drug mentioned in this post don't fully result to psychosis. Yes tramadol are psycho active drugs but their chances to cause psychosis is very minute to none. They are more of depressants and they don't boost sex drive. Hallucinogenic like LSD, Psilocybin, are the bad boys also opiate such as heroine. Rephnol are depressants. 1 Like |

2dugged: Tramadol is a class of opiate drugs (same family with morphine, oxycodone and codiene). It's usually used as an analgesic (pain reliving). Like all opiate drugs they bind to the opiod receptor in the brain and cause a release of GABA which ultimately result to release of Dopamine. Dopamine is the neurotransmitter release when we have sex, good food, pass exam, playing FIFA 17 etc. But dopamine act only at short period of time. So to get that euphoria feeling, drugs that stimulate dopa release are abused i.e. excess intake. Effect of tramadol include euphoria, low cardiovascular pressure (danger), pain relief etc. So abusing it will result to a rapid drop of your cardio (heart rate) and that lead to death. In order words, tramadol can't lead to psychosis. 7 Likes |

Cheapest labour ever. Taking grown up grads to filthy camps around the country, making em march around like some jobless boys/girls scouts only to be paid N19800 monthly, i.e. $51. Now this? Good luck trying to change from a third world country to a first. How I wish the biblical plague of Egypt rained down on some Nigerians especially politicians. 1 Like |

Apparently he forgot his keys to the house and instead of using a carpenter to break into or do a DIY, he decided to turn into a snake knowing that such animal is a delicacy in this world and put on a show for you and your supernatural folks. How many are paid above 20k per month or should I say reasonably paid? You mentioning those hols plan is nice but only 1% can afford it. Also in support of your last statement. 2 Likes |

Nairaland / General / Re: My Father Killed This Python Last Night After It Killed A Hen by Dongreat(m): 10:06am On May 20, 2017 |
nickyvil: People kill snakes because of natural instinct between prey and predators. Most snakes are harmless and with hundreds of species you can't tell which one is safe for "catching with hands and petting". Again only few population can stand the site of a snake and when do, their kill instinct kicks in. Also, the animal invaded their farm and killed their livestock, so I guess it's justifiable to put an end its encroachment. Lastly if you are worried about snake extinction then please channel your energy to other precious creatures because they can't be extinct due to hundreds of species and as reptiles they lay multiple eggs. Ps: we have a snake island, occupied only by snakes. That will tell you how fast they breed. 9 Likes 1 Share |

What a country where the youths burn a poor man for stealing a phone and cower on social media on hearing that NIA DG stole $45m, renewal of website is N70mil, Malibu oil deal of $500b was sold for $2b, $2.5b was withdrawn in cash and shared among thieves, $5m was found in houseboy account of former First Lady, policeman bought two mansion in Dubai or SFG cut grass with N200mil. Lesson here is don't steal little for you shall be killed like a dog in the street but steal big that will even cause the lives of the masses and you shall be crowned with a title, street name and be a mentor to the already deluded, poverty, third world and suffering and smiling youths. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Nairaland it's not too hard to say "congratulations" to her? It's not her fault to be from a rich family who saw it wise to give her quality education. I too will do same for my children and hell yes show em off after graduation. Too many hateful comments. Is it because her parent are wealthy or she studied abroad? I used to blame the rich for my misfortune until I realized that the fault is with the man I see every time I look at the mirror. Poverty is not an excuse to hate the rich. In fact being poor is a good thing knowing that you have nothing to lose at all trials to succeed. How low can a poor man go when he fails in business, still poor. But a rich man, well... Congrats Cuppy and succeed in your core dreams. 26 Likes 3 Shares |

icedfire: Free wifi doesn't mean unlimited bandwidth. In developed countries like the UK, the wifi in public buses are free but you can't watch YouTube videos, stream anything or even download a 5mb song. You are only allowed to check your email, social media and bus timetables. Switch on your VPN and you have no connection whatsoever but error. 1 Like |
