webincomeplus: Bros, it wasn't an assumption. I've been using MTN for 3 years now, and with the new plans I observed faster exhaustion with the same usage rate and devices.
If it wasn't an assumption then you're talking based on what others told you. I've been subscribing to MTN since I can't remember and this month I subscribed to the new 1.5GB plan , the consumption is still the same. Nothing's changed. Go and check your data counter.
PhonePlanet: hello? i wrote this article to explain in detail the information i was trying to get across. explaining in detail would not be in just a line of sentence or two lines. but at the same time the article was not ment for everybody, rather for those who wants to learn, so if you feel you know enough not to read it, simply pass by, nobody is forcing you neither is it a must to comment or say something. good day
Just as you could've passed by now without commenting but you did it anyways.
Stanley08: I don't really understand what you mean mate. However, from the picture u posted... I can see Theoretical speeds for 3G+ (HSPA) and 4G+ (LTE-A).
Tho theoretical upload speed for LTE-A is 150 and LTE is 50
There is no + attached to the 3G and no A attached to the LTE neither is there any + attached to the 4G. So what I know is that LTE has a download speed of 300mbps.
Stanley08: Mbps and MBps are different, you know this yes? 8Mbps = 1MBps Mb = Megabits MB = MegaBytes
Anyways, 4G LTE doesn't have speeds up to 300Mbps, that's not correct. 4G LTE-A (Advanced) has speeds up to that. And of course, we talking theoretical speeds.
The numbers in brackets are the average speeds you should expect, realistically. But yes, it can go as fast as the theoretical speed. It just always doesn't due to many conditions... location, isp, cell tower, base station, traffic, government blah blah blah
And on 3.5G HSPA using etisalat, yes i have seen above 10Mbps. I normally get 2.5MB/s download speed which is around 20Mbps (just about half of the theoretical limit, as theoretically it can go up to 5.25MB/s)
And also it applies for Kb and KB too. 200Kb/s = 25KB/s
This is getting too long, i hope i made my point
I saw this. But then I grabbed something from your explanation.
ochuski: REASONS WHY I WANT TO PORT TO AIRTEL 1= i can browse free on airtel using Internet.org just imagine; av been on Nairaland since morning with my dads airtel sim without a single MB. 2= MTN are no longer honest with their data plans. Imagine my 1.5g finishes within 2 weeks without even downloading a movie. 3= MTN automatically subscribe users to services. I migrated to ipulse recently and recharged #150 only to wake up with #26 bal. When i called 180 they said i was being charged for music plus which i have no idea of. These are the reasons i can think of for now. U can add yours. PLS GUYS HOW DO I PORT?
Pls remind me again, how many mb does it take to browse Nairalnad using Opera mini I'll tell you, close to nothing. And why would you want to browse nairaland from morning till night? Port to Airtel, I'll be here smiling when you'll come back and start ranting about them.
asuustrike2009: What's cheap there when they charge me N10 access fee?
After spending N10, not access fee. They charge u 20k/s for the 1st minute and that makes it N12, meaning U've spent your daily N10 and subsequent calls become 11k/s.
Dottore: All these Chinese companies are making waves in mobile communications. They are enjoying massive patronage. The good news is that I really havnt seen anything very spectacular with using other over priced brands like Apple and Samsung.
Who asked you? And by the way use either of the 2 u mentioned and see the spectacular things about them.
joey150: pulse is what?? mtn deducts like 25naira from me daily for that rubbish. i have 15naira and i cant even flash.
mtn pulse night whatever is nonsense...no even reason am sef
There's MTN Pulse, there's ipulse so you have to double check to confirm the one you are on. MTN Pulse charges 20k/s until you spend N10 (that's like 50 secs) that day, then subsequent calls are charged 11k/s . And for N25, they only deduct it upon request and it allows you make downloads up to the 500mb for that night.
greenhulk: Same way everyone cope with theirs. I've been using s6 for more than a year now and no single scratch. When u have such a device u care for it. I was using spigen neo hybrid case but now I switched to a clear back case as it brings out the beauty of the phone.
Ok you're using a casing. Do u know of anybody that doesn't use casing cos I'm planning to buy but I don't like casings.
gfunkstyl: I knew it's all marketing gymics they are a deceptive telecom outfit, they are trying hard to make nigerians pay for the fine they had to pay federal government. They are not sincere.
Mtn are not thieves. They're still the best when it comes to data deductions and all that. If you doubt try Airtel and Etisalat. However, your case is quite unfortunate but I'm sure it doesn't happen all the time.
Obviously this guy doesn't know anything if he thinks sleeping with a girl once isn't enough to get her pregnant. I think Burnaboy is the one that deserves mocking.
In other words we should become gullible because we want to help data resellers? Until the data reseller is my personal friend or I know someone that patronizes him REGULARLY or I know someone that knows him very well, he is a potential scammer to me.
TechsNG: The competition in the telecommunication companies operating in Nigeria is getting tougher and like the saying goes, ‘when the going gets tough, the tough gets going’.
MTN, over the last few weeks, has launched quite a number of surprises. Surprises that to an extent, got some of us asking, ‘what is MTN up to?’. Cost of data plans were immensely reduced. This sorta gave a wakening call to Etisalat who recently reduced it’s 1.5GB data plan and 3.5GB data plan to N1000 and N2000 respectively.
When Airtel did a video advertising the ‘Welcome To Airtel’ plan, it seemed as though the company was hitting on MTN. And apparently, a response has been brought to the table.
The video features Falz (with his crazy accent), Tekno, Skales and others who I can’t currently identify. You can watch the video below and like I said, it’d give you goose-bumbs.
Victorakats: But I was unable to get the call rate for the pulse plan! Currently, Mtn is the most expensive network to make voice call with and the most inconsistent network here in Port Harcourt. Followed by Airtel Next is glo with 0.12k Here's presenting the cheapest voice calls network Etisalat.. Lol And with the current reduction in their data prize, you will never go wrong if you subscribe to their plan. Whether in rain or in shine... You can rely on Etisalat!

MTN pulse call rate is 11k/s after spending N10. You're charged 20k/s until you spend N10, then it becomes 11k/s to all networks. I don't see how this makes them the most expensive.
solace89: Abeg of all dz networks, I no say Glo no dey roll over...which network dey do rollover....dats d koko.. cus me I'm not really a heavy data user like that.
It may be back, but certainly not better. Why would I want to migrate to their yeye Trybe b4 I can subscribe? They're trying too hard to be like MTN, becos with MTN you'll have to be on Pulse b4 u subscribe their night plan. The difference here is that MTN pulse is actually a very good tariff plan to be on, who can say that about airtel Trybe?
4G LTE has download speed of 300mb/s . 3G has download speed of 42mb/s. With our current 3G, I'm sure nobody ever got download speed of up to 10mb/s. So let's hope this 4G thingy gives us at least the normal speed of 3G in other countries. Not 4G that will be giving 200kb/s .
VanBommel: Something like this happened on the eve of xmas, last year in diamond bank in owerri. The bank was experiencing network issues so in the hall, the crowd was just too much. No space to even move your body. There was this man, in his late 30s standing behind this tall, fair, pretty lady with round behind. All of a sudden the lady started screaming and was showing us her fingers, some people there just got angry and started shouting at her her. It was when she started saying "sperm, sperm, sperm" we now knew there was problem. By then, the man had already covered hiis trouser the polythene bag he was holding. In a twinkle of an eye, a circle was already formed around the man, then he was asked to remove the nylon which he did after trying to be stubborn. Omo what I saw eehn, I nearly shed tears for the man. See map Of sperm on his carton-colored chinos trouser. It was indeed horrible.
But at least this one didn't pour on the lady's legs.
Cheap bloggers with cheap lies. And some gullible fellas are actually falling for this. Let's see at least a picture of the man and the woman or maybe people now go to banks nåked in Zimbabwe.
tylerbraid: Glo's slow network is because of those tweaking blackberry bis to use on Andriod. i.e earning little (income), giving out with big (data) caps; as a result of this, there isn't enough to pay the general ISP which in return would hamper there service delivery to those even buying the original plans. To the tweakers, I'm sure you noticed that In as much as u tweak mtn, u still browse fast, because they pay for the deficit u inflict upon them while glo doesn't. Glo uses yur subscription money to pay the isp... Until the tweak is blocked on Glo before we enjoy the usually fast network again. I wonder why its taking them long to find a solution to this.
Well, Glo does not have the highest number of internet subscribers whether tweaking or not.
