thorrvik55:Thanks for the correction, it's an auto-correct issue. The post he highlighted is just one of many organizations that has come out since yesterday to retract their story or correct their misinformation. I don't know why my optimistic mind on this is being rebuked. I choose to believe that people were not killed. That what we're experiencing right now is mass hysteria fuelled by the social unrest which has now fully evolved to anarchism. I want us to return to calm and take a measured approach, not what we have now. |
Oasis007:Yes. I agree. This would be the ultimate victory for the protests. A new party totally devoid of any of the current ruling class. A party formed by young intellectuals. Someone like Sowore should lead it. This is the only way we can revolutionize the country. Using our voices at the ballot boxes. Not anarchism and wanton destruction of properties or looting. We're shooting ourselves in the foot and cutting off our noses to spite our faces right now. |
Oasis007:Thanks for sharing this. Overlooking most of their emotionally charged diatribes, one would wonder whether a lot of people here are now WISHING people were killed that day. Did the military open fire on people; yes. We all saw that and we know they are wrong and should be prosecuted. Did people get injured, yes, we can see that, through the patients in the hospital. But what we are indeed yet to see is the identification of any deceased. What we see are purely anectodal evidences and Many news sources and credible organization like this one and even BBC are now recanting their stories and apologizing for the spread of misinformation. But leave it to gullible fools here to continue to WISH that people are dead and attacking any individual who HOPES that people weren't killed. I still point out the blatant hypocrisy of these outraged fools. The same people who insult me with gay slurs and wish gay people out there are killed and brutalized and would cheer the barbarity meted out are the same folks who would form fake outrage for people they wish are dead in order to further intensify the anarchism and chaos now rampant. There is a lot of misinformation and massive propaganda going on and I for one choose to be absolutely sure of any information I'm seeing before sharing it. Very gullible hypocrites. |
madrid5:What makes you say this? |
MoonWater:For every 2 good things done, there are far more destruction caused. Who will control the blood lusty scoundrels who have now sprung from the background? Who will control the anarchists? How do we stop the burning of police stations where many brutal criminals are detained? When does it end? |
seankafor:Sometimes, the truth just has to be said irrespective of people's emotions. I just don't give a fuck_ about people's emotions in the face of facts. I hate mass hysteria. |
Few days ago here, a few of us called for the end to the protests and we were termed ingrates and fools. I certainly hope you're enjoying the full blown anarchism that is now in effect. Sometimes, common sense will look like unreasonable dissent to fools. Make una continue to enjoy your "protests", na here we dey. PS; We are yet to see the "massacre" that took place. No deceased have been found till now or family member of a deceased. Some news organizations are beginning to apologize for sharing fake news. https://www.nairaland.com/6198927/aftermath-lekki-shootings-looting-lekki |
A much better debate than the first. Trump is clearly more eloquent in speaking but Biden had more substance in his arguments. once again, thumbs up to the moderator. she did a much better job than seen. |
A very big shoutout to the moderator. very fair and balanced with very good questions. she is the best. |
Buhari is truly an ineffective leader and a poor communicator. |
izzou:I will answer this after the president gives his speech. The next move by the president is essential in determining the nature of things to come. |
WHEN THE LOOTING STARTS, THE SHOOTING STARTS.!! |
LAW AND ORDER. |
ENOUGH OF THE VIOLENCE!! |
gensteejay:This cannot be right. People in predominantly Muslim countries do protest and riot steadily. The Arab spring comes to mind, so how can this be factual? |
Amoto94:This is very brilliant. You do realize that this will be the first time both of us are aligned on the same issue. ![]() The current situation has made for strange bedfellows indeed. ![]() Who would have taught that airhead and sodick would one day align together here? ![]() |
StarchAndBanga:Well, can you prove to me that you're not a stupid fool?? |
StarchAndBanga:What word exactly?? |
Expert17:I am trying really hard to understand your post. What fake news am i spreading? |
chrisooblog:Well, you know me here, I love to call out the hypocrisy of Christians here. Right now, all of them are forming outrage for people who might have died but if per chance, there was a pro-lgbtq rights rally held in Nigeria today and military opened fire on the protesters. You will see these same religious people cheer on the military and thank them for doing "Gods work". Just look at the support airhead got yesterday because he was "insulting" me with gay slurs. The mind of these Christians is mind bending. They value Human life as far as it's not a gay human life. Such a beautiful mindset to have. ![]() |
thorrvik55:The bolded is obviously where we still have a problem. You are simply assuming that my mind was made up when my post clearly contradicts that. There is a difference between one's mind being made up and one's mind being open. My second post was a reply to someone who said he saw "reports" of soldiers putting dead bodies in trucks and i asked him for strong evidence which he later couldn't provide. I could in fact argue that it is your mind that has been made up; and guess what it will have been made up with falsehoods and propaganda. I am sorry if you're displeased that I choose to wait on irrefutable evidence before believing that our beloved patriots have lost their lives. Meanwhile i am calling for retroactive action against the military men who opened fire on peaceful protesters. |
obainojazz:Well, porn na porn. I really don't know why you people will think calling me gay go pain me. Me wey ready to become gay ambassador here, ready to speak for the voiceless that you Christians love to kill and oppress. ![]() |
Greatihex:No need for this. If you see something else that we don't that, please share it. Again, I'm not saying that people might not have died but I'm hoping that it's injuries we're dealing with and not deaths. please share the irrefutable evidence you possess. |
Away from all these. Please we need to really be aware of the new format and tactics being used by fraudsters to extort victims. The new "last warning" format being the most effective. One where they tell you that they have been observing when you visit porn websites and have videos of you masturbating and threaten to share it to all your contacts. Please don't fall for this. It is FAKE. They possess no such thing, just a scare tactics.

thorrvik55:You have to be a special kind of imbecile_ to continue to misconstrue my message. You and others here who have chosen to misrepresent my position on this really are very daft. Just maybe i should try one more time to elucidate my initial post for the purpose of clarity seeing as you have the mentality of a child. donjazet:From my first and second paragraph, you can see me insisting that the evidence so far has been anecdotal. Which has been proven right. Incase you don't know the meaning of anecdotes. It means evidence based on hearsays and personal stories but not hard irrefutable evidence. Again you can see that most of the faces of the "massacre" have been debunked and found out to be wide spread misinformation. The video i keep seeing till now is of military men shooting up sporadically to disperse the crowds. Now make no mistake about this, I am not defending the act of the military to open fire to disperse a crowd. It is irresponsible and despicable as outlined in my third paragraph where I call for them to be brought to book. Lastly you can see me condemning the leadership of our country for remaining quiet in the face of all these. please once again, for the purpose of clarity, I am not denying that citizens may have lost their lives. I am saying that we should be guided in our outrage. We should try to know what is true and what is not so that our outrage is justifiable. Ask yourselves this, how exactly did you feel when the pictures of those supposed deceased who inflamed your outrage turned out to be hoaxes. Wasn't there a slight regret for being deceived? Please just sieve the information you absorb. That's my simple message. |
Very foolish and gullible people who will always be pawns in people's games. Think for yourselves, you no gree. You begin dey insult families. You choose to let people play with your emotions for nothing. The message is simple. Always try to sieve misinformation from facts in order not to be tools for propagandists. |
Ibime:You really need to stop wasting your time on those idiots. The're knee-deep into their rabbit holes and conspiracy spaces. You really are wasting your time engaging that waste pipe. |
iamJ:Very stupid and gullible bastards. They would easily fall for anything they see online. It's very well known that the greatest threat to our society today is misinformation. While the internet is supposed to be a tool for enlightenment, it many at times send many into a rabbit hole and an echo chamber of lies and conspiracy theories. Many people are advised to always double check information before absorbing it irrespective of how sensational it is. We have to try to not get sucked in emotionally to every bad news we see. For instance, few months ago here, I posted the raw murder of a boy who was being killed by cultists. Only for me to later learn that that same victim being killed was a ring leader of a rival court who had assassinated a local government councilor in delta state. |
wman:The bolded is where the problem lies. I don't know what would make you think I'm not sympathetic. The truth is that what happened yesterday was discernibly a predictable pattern, which is why many reasonable people have been calling for a suspension of the protests in it's current form. The blunt truth is that more lives will be lost if these protests continue and we will only continue to lament. We all need to start Calling for an immediate suspension of the protests. Later we can back, fully energized with a clearer message. Meanwhile, we need to vet and scrutinize ceaselessly every bit of information we get to get a better informed assertion of the situation. |
chicobaddest:Really? I'm sick, aren't I? Well maybe i just love being sick. ![]() |
Amoto94:I was joking dude. Just smile away. |
