People should stop playing on our sentiments. Why would someone post pictures of a religious massacre in northern nigeria as the Dana air crash pictures? Why would someone take delight in posting such ugly pictures without respect to the dead and their loved ones? Would you like your 'end of life' pictures to be displayed in such manner? |

There are different kinds of angels. In my dreams, I have seen gigantic, intimidating and no-nonsense ones who fill you with fear and awe. I remember that I had to crane my head back to see how tall they were. I have also seen some who looked human, we had conversations and they told me things that were unknown to me but when I woke up, I checked and found out that they were true. One once told me that he was assigned to be following me around. In the real world, I have had people who walked up to me to make requests or talk to me only for me to take a few steps forward, look back and see that they have vanished. Everyone has an angel watching over them. Thay can be compromised, they can be reinforced. You may not know it but next time you escape danger narrowly and you didn't know how you did it, just remember that it may be your guardian angel working hard. |
A nursing mother, 22, and mother of a 10-month-old-baby, has allegedly hanged herself in her one-room apartment on Sumonu Giwa Street, Ile-Epo area of Iyana Ipaja, Lagos. Said to be a teacher, the lady, simply called Mama Favour, was found hanging on a rope by her hubby, a petrol station attendant. Daily Sun learnt that at about 10:00pm on Wednesday evening, Mama Favour’s husband, simply identified as Seun returned home to find the door locked and heard the cry of his 10-month-old baby from the room. Seun, it was gathered, was furious and shouted at his wife to attend to the baby on time. After the several calls and orders that she should attend to the crying baby elicited no response, the enraged husband was said to have threatened to deal with his wife, thinking she was exhibiting her usual non-challant attitude. Getting more agitated, Seun knocked severally on the door and later broke into the room when it appeared his wife was not answering. And what stared him in the face was the dangling, lifeless body of his wife, hanging loose from the rope she had allegedly used to hang herself some hours earlier. Shocked to the marrows, Seun had raised alarm which neighbours, particularly his landlord, Mr. Ajadi who rushed to the scene. When Daily Sun called at 31, Sumonu Giwa Street yesterday afternoon, the deceased’s landlord, Mr. Ajadi said: “At about a few minutes to 10:00pm on Wednesday. I was about to take my dinner when I heard a noise from Seun in the passage. And I rushed to the passage to ask him what had happened. He was shouting my wife my wife, And I asked what about his wife and he replied that I should come and see it in his room and when I got to the room, I saw the wife had hanged herself. I was shocked but immediately I went to the police station to report the case and that night the policemen came with us to see what had happened. By that time, she was already dead and the police later took the pictures of the scene. It is a strange thing that has happened because the woman who just hanged herself was an easygoing person. I can’t recall a time that she had any quarrel with her husband. They were usually an easy-going couple.” Relatives of the deceased, her husband and her church members soon came and went to the police station. Some of the deceased’s neighours who spoke on condition of anonymity gave some hints into what they thought could be the motive behind Mama Favour’s alleged suicide. They alleged before she eventually committed suicide, Mama favour had been behaving very strangely. One of them said: “Mama favour is said to have some spiritual problem. We learnt that her husband’s pastor had invited her on several occasions for deliverance and serious prayers. This is because of some strange attitudes she has been putting up lately. It was said that she had requested for poison when she visited her parents lately. She had left home on several occasions in the night and wandered about till daybreak before she was later found. In fact, some of her husband’s relatives had advised her husband to take her to her parents and make her stay there till when they could find a solution to her strange behaviours.” At the Ile-Epo police station in the area, the policemen confirmed the story, but said that investigation would continue on it. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2012/jan/27/national-27-01-2011-015.html |
Good write up but let us look the other way, these men of God take the gospel away from them what are they in the society? for instance some of them have good degree and they left their profession and follow the call, I know many people will get me wrong but If we have good aircraft in Nigeria many would not buy any jet, remember a while back a successful preacher, teacher, sister, mother lost her life if she have one of the private jet today that fellow will still alive changing life of youth. I know some men of God have question to answer but let God be the judge. God bless Nigeria Is that applicable to men of God? To be fearful of death? Remember Psalm 23vs4. If people who claim to be close to God do not trust God but put their trust in material things as in Psalm 20vs7, then should the ordinary man listen to their teachings anymore? |

Lagosians, how was your experience with the heavy rains and flood on Sunday 10th of July? Pictures and comments are welcome. |
ferdiii:FYI, I don't live in the north and its not everyone that loves wars. Its also bad taste to rejoice at other people's misfortune. The main issue is that we have a situation on ground and our so called leaders don't seem to know how to do anything other than to, |
I think the act of the military descending on hapless civilians is a sign of frustration on the side of the soldiers. It doesn't bode well for the country as these men should be kept on a leash and used sparingly. Signs of weakness from the top as we may be seeing can only lead to mutiny among the rank and file. Our government should wake up from their slumber and smell the cookie burning. |
Whoever posted that pic up there is being mischievious. i have seen it before and its that of a woman killed by a train a long time ago. i will try to look for the original link as proof. please let us stop trying to add petrol to fire. |
We should not be fooled by the beauty of the wrapping paper but the quality of what is inside. GEJ is just a PDP rubber stamp. A repackaging to capture those who never tire to suffer. We have been watching the same movie over and over again. Now its season 4, we never tire? I'm voting in Surulere, BB all the way! ![]() |

@27 upwards , girls look in the mirror and see that they are no longer the sweet 16 they used to be. Most men prefer the fresh, younger and more succulent ones. The scales fall off their eyes fast as customers begin to bypass their now-fading market and competition become stiffer. That may explain the desperation. As 4 me, Ive learnt long ago not 2 fool around with older girls cos they are more likely not 2 let go when its 'Game Over'. ![]() |

From ROSE EJEMBI, Makurdi Saturday, November 6, 2010 Photo: Sun News Publishing More Stories on This Section Tragedy struck yesterday in Mkomon District, Kwande Local Government Area, Benue State, a border community to Cameroun, when volcanic eruptions on a mountain claimed the life of one person as well as destroyed property worth millions of naira. Saturday Sun gathered that the tragedy occurred while residents of the community were attending the annual thanksgiving service of the local church. Terzungwer Iorhemen, a member of the community, told our correspondent that midway into the thanksgiving service, vibrations on the earth overwhelmed the area, located at the Cameroun boundary. “While the thanksgiving service was going on, we suddenly noticed heavy vibrations in the mountain bordering the area with Cameroun Republic, which was followed by a sudden eruption from six points on the mountainous terrain,” he said. He disclosed that the vibrations were followed by the eruption of lava from the mountain covering wells, streams, trees and houses in the area, leaving residents with no other option than to flee for their lives. While people were scampering for safety, due to the effect of the vibrations and the lava eruption, it was gathered that a young boy, who wanted to have a feel of the lava, was killed. Villagers tried effortlessly to save the boy, but failed. Sources said that many villagers of the Mkomon district are still on the run for fear of further volcanic emissions from the mountain. Residents of the affected community have deserted their homes, as sources of potable water have been polluted by the heavy magma emitted from the eruption. Saturday Sun gathered that the accident has been reported to the paramount ruler of the community, the Ter Kwande, Chief James Atzape and the local government council leadership, just as desperate moves were being made to evacuate the affected inhabitants to safety. Attempts to reach the local government council chairman on phone for comments proved abortive. When our reporter called at the Benue State Emergency Management Agency, executive secretary of the agency, Adikpo Agbatse, was said to have led other officials |

My first experience? Well it was on the W8 from Enfield to Edmonton about 6 years ago and I was enjoying myself: the rare sunny day in winter, the view, tree branches slapping against the windows and all when up came this bunch of school kids screaming and creating such a super nuisance that I wished it was back home and I could give them what they really needed . Our people say that the tongue and the teeth find a way to cohabit in peace. My mother used to say that women are drivers - from the back seat. Men by nature always like to be seen as being in charge. A direct challenge to that upsets the balance of nature. That is feminism. The submissive woman makes most of the decisions by she-power and makes the man see it as HIS own. By stroking her man's male ego, she rules him. That is potent ancient wisdom. ![]() |
