Hello madam, I have a suggestion. Study your son. Children are so unique - you might have 10 and all 10 will have different characters and mindsets. In your case, it looks like you have an intelligent child - they don't respond well (if at all) to yelling, ordering and beating. They may tolerate it but will eventually rebel (passively or actively). Instead, enter the child's world a bit - use what he likes to communicate with him. To "program" him you have to speak HIS language. Say for instance he likes errr.. Teen titans, you have to know his favourite character, then use that to communicate and program him with small small punishments only when necessary because kids will be kids. So for brushing, you might be like Robin is the leader of the teen titans and always tell him to be like robin -organized abd ready to lead himself and his baby sibling. If he's as intelligent as i think, then both parents need to lay down laws and start negotiating things with him - carrot and stick style. If we remind you to brush, you loose 30 mins TV time. If you do everything you are supposed to do without any reminder, you get a treat. If you go down this path, you must enforce the laws o..... |
treese:First of all, i'm not a woman/wife but I suspect something else is responsible for your husband vexing. I'm guessing the problem is not that you didn't clean his ears when he asked but more than likely the way or manner you responded. The manner in which we talk to our ourselves sometimes is the real problem not so much what we say. If you snapped at him then yes, if not then i don't know what else because in my opinion that one never reach to cause fight. Just my 2 cents for your consideration. BTW, me too used to like my wife cleaning my ears, but not any more. I guess it became a sort of burden to her and i don't like being a burden to anyone least of all, my beloved. For me it wasn't about cleaning my ears (she used to press the buds to hard into my ears!!), it was just felt nice lieing my head on her laps and dozing off while the ear cleaning kept her busy. sigh.. the best things in life are truly free! |
Freegift75:While this kind of thing might have okay with Jewish laws & customs (as can be see in the old testament & the question posed to Jesus about whom a bride that had married several brothers will be with in heaven) - You as a pastor needs to revisit and understand the wedding vow: ' to have and hold ......, TILL DEATH DO US PART". Once death parts a couple, the marriage contract is broken. You had no right to do what you did (biblically speaking) and you almost put another marriage asunder. Your brother's wife is free to re-marry if she chooses to but not to a married person! |
Petitioning people not to eat animals? Humans are omnivores (herbivorous and carnivorous) and to expect them not eat other animals is as silly as expecting a pride of lions not to hunt for food. I don't eat snake (never will) but that's a personal choice. What i hate is killing for the sake of killing or better put, killing for the sake of sport/fun and all those other ignoramuses that kill for ivory, shark fins and other non-consumable animal parts (that includes you fur traders). If you kill an animal for food or self defense, nothing do you. |
Franzeez:Interesting to see in your post that you never said they lied in any way, rather you said "content and interpretation of their messages can set a nation on fire" (paraphrased). So, is the content of their messages true? based on facts? if yes, then what is your problem? the interpretation? Anyhow, I follow Sahara reporters and they always have their facts right when the break a story and that's good enough for me. Infact, AIT and NTA should learn from SR before they finally die of Actual Information Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). In real life, an alleged learned person like yourself should know that it is not a crime to express one's opinion provided it's done within the bounds of law - i.e, you just expressed your opinion and i don't think anybody is coming to take you down, and in my humble opinion - you are wrong and don't have a legal grounds to pursue your aim which makes me want to advise you to ask unilorin for a full refund 'cos they must have misinformed you of some basic things. |
Aroniyo200:Word for today!! GBAM!! @ religion-without-salvation church |
osewanu:and if she's not? I ask because it's funny that you are only interested in one answer to your question. More than that, it looks like a lot of people commenting are in the mode of "everybody is guilty of something so no biggie". It's terrible that so called 'Church members and workers' are alleged to be fornicating and committing adultery and all some people have to say is - "you no holy pass", " kini big deal", or worse "na today? ". What is wrong with "Christians" today? Even when i talk, people always warn me not to speak against "men of God" who are busy enriching themselves and don't know what it is to love a fellow human much less God. They just can't see sin any more. just like above. OP, IF you are sinning as he alluded, repent and the Lord of Host will forgive you. As for your 'church' - by their fruit, you shall know them. If you know the fruit of the church then do the needful. I pray God leads you, me & my family to a bible believing, teaching and living Church in Jesus Name. Amen. |
PopsiAde:Seconded. The man tried for Rivers state and believe me, it ain't easy to manage Rivers people - many of them are a stiff necked people with a retrogressive mentality, but there are many of them just like him. Brash and resolute. |
Cutehector:So using this to protect one's self from a would be rapist would be wicked ? ![]() |
AMEN. |
Bigcake:Reading through, all i have seen from you are insults and personal attacks. I haven't seen you take up a single issue. If you are up to it, lets look at GEJ's performance on national security. |

pacido:TRUE pacido:TRUTH BE TOLD, We don't know how much of anything this government says is true. I hear some railways are working but I know for sure these are not new investments as the tracks have always been there. I hear quotes on how many kilometers of roads have been done but i also know that i have seen many FEDERAL roads in Lagos and Rivers state that were fixed by the state governments. I even hear the Lagos Badagry road that the state was fixing (five lanes on each side) was stopped by the FG and is yet to be progressed since. I hear under his government we have grown to become the largest economy in Africa but I also know that while they were computing this, we were drying up economically and our primary source of income - production of crude oil and gas is dropping drastically mainly due to bunkering and also poor management (NNPC/Diezani) and funding. Oil bunkering increase is surprising as the funds to create a coast guard force to guard our waterways and pipelines was given to Tompolo or Ateke (not sure which or perhaps its both?), yet the situation has worsened meaning we are paying money but not getting any value for it (fuel subsidy payment Version 2.1.2). I hear he recently bought a Norwegian warship, maybe things are going to get better but i wouldn't hold my breath on that). I hear they privatized PHCN and power has generation/distribution have improved but what i know is that cost of power has gone up, but service delivery is the same (if you are lucky, worse if you are not). I travel alot and as for the airports, i haven't seen anything AT ALL worth mentioning. If i were given the funds generated by FAAN, i would do a lot more with it. i even know that they abandoned Port Harcourt international airport Omagwa presumably because the Rivers state Governor has been giving the FG hell. Because of this government's penchant for nonsensical and outlandish claims of his achievements, the truth is hard to determine. For instance, in his trademark incompetence this JOKER categorically denied the kidnap of over 200 Nigerian citizens on our soil for over TWO WEEKS. After finally making a u-turn on their 'its an APC propaganda' position, the once respectable and formidable entity formally known as the Nigerian Army publicly declared that they had rescued the girls. A blatant lie characteristic of this government. As i type, there is no word on the return of those innocent girls. Instead, we got #BringbackGEJ. How daft and insensitive does one have to be to allow such a travesty happen? Till tomorrow, the report on the alleged missing $20 Billion is yet to come out, but the whistle blower has been removed from office, had his passport seized, framed as a Boko haram sponsor from a laptop browsing from within the presidency belonging to PASTOR RENO OMOKRI aka WENDELL SLIMLIN who is still working for Jonathan. At the same time, the Minister in charge of the NNPC is perpetually shielded from answering question from the upper/lower arms of the legislative arm of government. For employment, i keep seeing figures being flashed everywhere everyday but what i know for a fact is the number of people that paid for the immigration recruitment and the number of those that died. i still remember seeing them on that fateful day and arguing with a friend who was upset at seeing a heavily pregnant candidate at the stadium that day. I know nothing came out of the that obviously preventable failure. this government is used to 'sharing blood' or looking the other way when others are doing it. THAT IS WHY I PERSONALLY DO NOT SEE ANYTHING GOOD IN THIS JONATHAN LED GOVT. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY REGARD FOR THE LIVES OF THE CITIZENRY, AND IF THAT IS THE CASE, HOW CAN WE EVEN BEGIN TO THINK THEY WILL BE AT ALL CONCERNED ABOUT WELFARE? For the last part of your write-up i will not bother commenting but would refer you to your first line: "Nigeria will be a great country the day its citizens start reasoning objectively without bias and ethnic sentiments." This is what got us to where we are now. North, South, East, West, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo................. Let the right man for the job do the job, so when it's time for work, he won't become the lame duck that he is quacking about real and perceived personal enemies, excuses and end up needing his wife to attempt to a do a miserable attempt of it on his behalf. |
Firefire:Vote who? The same BUFFOON that said he knew the sponsors of Boko Haram YEARS AGO BEFORE THEY WENT ON TO KILL TENS OF THOUSANDS OF NIGERIANS ![]() Sensationalizing the issue won't help you or the condemner-in-chief of Nigeria. He was given a chance, he could not tackle corruption and openly admitted as much when he chose to remove fuel subsidy RATHER THAN ENFORCING JUSTICE UPON THOSE THAT FRAUDULENTLY (IF NOT CORRUPTLY BY HIS OWN DEFINITION) COLLECTED BILLIONS OF NAIRA IN SUBSIDY PAYMENTS FOR SUPPLYING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!. He knew them and told us they are too powerful to tackle so the best thing to do is leave them alone and face you lot, the Nigerians he swore an oath to defend at all cost to bear the brunt. I would rather vote for IBB than vote for that clueless man - that's how bad his tenure has been for the Nation! even IBB admitted as much. |
MuguliciousMUGU:After how many years? Go and read about the Chibok abductions and other schools they have attacked (let's just focus on schools for now) and look at the dates of the attacks. Then read your ignorant and 'chiefly' illogical post again. |
Empero1:Big Brother, 1. The write up never said the book centered on Kasamu, it alleged that it centered on OBJ's open letter to GEJ in which he also mentioned that that Kashamu was a wanted fugitive (everybody knows this by now, if not by reports in newspapers then by his awesome wealth with which he donated a building (office abi na party hq??) to PDP). If na lie, make e fly go US come back. 2. A sensible court would have heard OBJ's side and asked for evidence that the book actually contained falsehood about him. 3. A just court under a learned and unbiased Judge would have restricted OBJ from repeating his assertions about Kasamu from the open letter in the book until the other case is resolved. That way, OBJ can still publish his book without any references to the drug lord. That would have been justice to all concerned. 4. A wise judge would have given notice to the publisher, editor.... to refrain from libelous accusations against Kasamu and left them to take the law into their hands, if they dare. 5. A big bros like yourself should know better than to jump to conclusions based on a one sided argument about about the contents of a book that you haven't seen, isn't printed and haven't heard from the writer. I don't think i'll ever read the book but i HATE it when justice is perverted no matter how inconsequential it might seem and passed off as justice for all. Signed, Donkool for and on behalf of the little kids on this forum. |
tonychristopher:Your lack of understanding of the message is typical of a Nigerian with a degree but no real measure of knowledge or intelligence. Consistently opening his/her mouth proudly to proclaim a point but unknown to himself exposing the level of ignorance in which he wallows.... Case in point your Mr GEJ: 1. Stealing in not corruption - Why it shows how daft the statement is: When people in entrusted positions collude to steal, divert or misappropriate funds or benefits, it's a form of corruption. cor·rup·tion kəˈrəpSH(ə)n/ noun noun: corruption; plural noun: corruptions 1.dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery. "the journalist who wants to expose corruption in high places" synonyms: dishonesty, unscrupulousness, double-dealing, fraud, fraudulence, misconduct, crime, criminality, wrongdoing; Stealing from government is only possible in a corrupt system as it take more than one individual to pull it off and it involves dishonest and fraudulent conduct - e.g Stella Oduah who apparently inflated the cost of purchasing bullet proof cars for herself outside the approved budget of her ministry/parastatal and then proceeded to steal the cars. 2. If even twenty billion dollars misses from the (Nigerian) treasury, America will know!! See the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2Xv9olIjI4. If you do not see why this statement is wrong then i honestly can't help you. his arguments: where will you hide it? err what about the planes flying out the country? The world is so open: Yet your government paid billions of naira in subsidy payments for petroleum products that were never imported to the country and was unable to prosecute even one of the people you paid who are still very much walking about freely in this country today! you can't even carry it in cash, it must be through transfers and someone will see: SMH..... I'm telling you that if anybody steals $20B this country will know. - How? by ignoring the whistle blower? by persecuting the whistle blower? by barring the national assembly from interviewing a government employee as to the state of affairs in her ministry? Or perhaps by launching a never ending forensic audit into a rotten behemoth that has yet to be audited as required by law for over how many years? Men.. how did it come to this? where are all the intelligent people in this nation? |
akinsadeez:I would buy if this if not for all the 'open letters' that have been written to jojo without any result except a response of insults by his dog (doyin) or his monkey (abati). All the open letters and he didn't learn anything which by your position is because they were from APC peeps or didn't have suggestions on the issues they were raising. Just out of curiosity, did you even read Soyinka's speech? I doubt it. If you did then too bad. Since you feel one should not talk when he/she see's something wrong without suggesting a solution, here's a suggestion to go with Soyinka's words; Since GEJ is an incompetent buffoon who has repeated failed to use the Nations armed forces to defend her citizens (Boko haram will attack again this weekend, we know o! but will do nothing and wait to condemn on Monday) severally choosing instead to be a condemner-in-chief but always eager to use the same national resources to illegally antagonize perceived opponents to his tenure/ambitions. I suggest that he should be impeached, arrested and put on trial for aiding the murder and abduction of several thousands of innocent Nigerians by his failure/refusal to do his job. |
marieolae:There lies the reason why some "good" men sometimes misbehave. A wife must earn the love and respect of her husband. It is not a right. As a man is expected to love and cherish his wife, she has to love and honour her man. If she doesn't, how can he love and cherish her? How can one cherish a source of dishonour, disrespect, anger or shame? To put this in perspective; the bible set an extremely high standard for a husband, to love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave his life for her (Heb 5:25) - which means to love her more than himself hence the ability to give his life for her if need be. This is a higher demand than the instruction to love your neighbor as yourself. However, keep in mind that even though Christ died for us all even when we were/are still in sin, it is ONLY THOSE WHO ACCEPT HIS SACRIFICE THAT WILL BE SAVED. The act of acceptance = repentance = earning the right to be called a child of God. If God's love was just given to the deserving and undeserving alike, then Hell would be completely vacant. Rather it is offered to all alike and ONLY those who accept and work to earn that love that will actually receive it. So even if we are expected to love our wives unconditionally and selflessly, remember that it is only those who love us back and accept us that will earn that love. Not just someone who is a wife by title/ring/name and not by submission and deeds. Same goes for men who go about cheating. You don't earn a woman's love and heart by breaking it at every opportunity you get. If you dishonour her and expect respect and honour from her; You will get none and probably get a just punishment instead. For the 'no long thing version': We reap what we sow...... |

papalnuncio:- You meant to say "reverse is the case" papalnuncio:Who are they? a)What is their motive (i.e why are they doing what you claim? as in what do they stand to gain?) b) What is GEJ doing about that? As president and commander in chief of the armed forces of nigeria, he swore to defend/protect Nigerians from such threats. That's the primary purpose of his job. Why isn't he doing his job? papalnuncio:a) Common sense lends to the wise sayings of old: i - United we stand, Divided we fall ii - There is strength in numbers iii - Diversity breeds ........ But you would have all scatter to our tents. Not a wise choice at all BUT it still remains an option. papalnuncio:You meant to say "QUOTE ME anywhere" |
slimzy91:that's one perspective. What i see is a reckless, lawless and stupidly greedy/selfish government at work. Reckless because they do not consider the precedents/consequences of their actions/in-actions. Lawless because in claiming to uphold law and order, they break more laws than the average criminals in prison. Stupidly greedy/selfish because ALL these incidents (Governor's forum where 16 became greater than 19, Rivers state where 5 members tried to impeach 27 members of the State HOA -under police protection o!!, Same story in Ekiti at the moment) are orchestrated and authorized by the FG. It's bad enough when they get involved but to actually initiate the moves..... government because in all this illegality and outright injustice, i.) they claim to not have a hand in it BUT THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT IT. ii) They sometimes even just prefer to keep SILENT AND NOT SAY ANYTHING. iii) If not those two, it's someone somewhere trying to paint the presidency in a bad light!!! Examples Like ex-CBN governor and missing money that they have not till this day explained whether or not money truly miss or not (they resorted to a combination of iii & ii above. another case in point is the Chibok girls abduction that they tried to use iii for over two weeks then resorted to ii until the # movement forced their hand. Yet , people keep defending and making excuses for the President, PDP and his cronies!!! Despite the fact that the same presidency dey look like muturu.... Despite the fact that the same presidency acknowledged and congratulated winner of governor's forum with 16 votes against a loser of 19 votes! May none of them escape God's judgement for the innocent lives they have directly and indirectly destroyed within my own lifetime!! |
jamesandrew:Liar liar!!! There is a provision for switching parties that supercedes section 68(g). Get the facts and say it as it is not as 'you want'. |
hugoart:You forgot to mention Allegations of stolen monies to the tune of Tens of Billions of Dollars without any legal consequence to either the thief (if true) or the Liar (if false). |
kelnas post=28192220 I keep seeing this comparison with Mimiko. Get this straight: Mimiko is a governor and Tambuwal is a member of the House of Reps, these are different positions! The Constitution provides specifically that a member of the House of Reps loses his seat if he becomes a member of another political party. (Section 68(g) of the 1999 Constitution). This section is crystal clear. Stop calling Mimiko who is a governor. The section does not apply to governors!:The CONSTITUTION ALLOWS FOR DEFECTION OF HOR MEMBERS WHEN THERE ARE PROVEN DIVISIONS IN THE PARTY OOOOO!!!! STOP PARA-QUOTING THE PART OF THE CONSTITUTION THAT SUITS YOUR HEARTS DESIRES AND LOOK AT THE ENTIRETY OF IT AND HOW IT APPLIES TO THE SITUATION AT HAND. JEEZ....... |
Pennyways:You are getting there. by 'there' i mean trying to be logical. Now let's add a little honesty. there is an exemption to clause 'g' you quoted which states clearly the conditions/provisos under which section 'g' would not be applicable. There are no half-truths my brother, only truths or lies. |
XTIANmaha:SMH!!! Have you ever tried snapping soldiers when they are carrying out their illegal orders? |
majekdom2:The sad state of Nation.... See ignorance of the scale of GEJ being manifested everywhere in Nigeria today.... What part of the constitution are they enforcing? I really HATE people that cannot reason out the logic in their thoughts before they spew them out to the world. What constitution are they are they enforcing? Do you know, mr majekdom2 that IF INDEED Tambuwal is not the speaker and he chooses to parade himself as the speaker, then the police SHOULD BY LAW arrest him? If that is the case, why barricade the gate? to prevent him from committing a legal offense? Is that why they are tear gassing people? Looking at this nonsense logically, teargas is used to disperse or subdue groups of people usually with a view of preventing loss of life and/or damage to property. Did the reps and Tambuwal pose a threat to anybody or public/government property? |
Schematics:Guy, You are wrong on all levels!!! He is still the speaker of the House. He became speaker when he was 'elected' by the majority of the house of reps. Not because PDP is still majority. What stupid PDP should do to remove him from the post is to impeach him using their majority IF THEY CAN. Stop talking thrash when you obviously don't know!!! I just hope you are not a teacher/lecturer somewhere!! |
Thomby2k12: Hello house, please I'm in need of advice. My brother is scheduled to attend his interview next week Thursday 21st March, 2013. He went for his medical test the day before yesterday and they told him the result would be ready on Saturday. This morning, they called him from the hospital and told him they found a problem in his x-ray and that he would have to undergo treatment that would cost N50,000.00. The problem now is that they told him that the result of the test would not be ready until after 10½ weeks. Pls, what are we going to do now? Please,Hi house!! It's been a while. Congrats to all the successful DV selectee's and all the best to those waiting to collect their visa's. @Thomby2k12 - I would worry about his health first then Visa later. I hope it's not TB as I believe that's what the x-ray (in this visa lottery medical screening0 is primarily used to diagnose. If money is not an issue, pay the money, get/start the treatment and go for your interview as scheduled. What "I THINK' will happen is that they will hold his visa till the medical report is out. If money is an issue, he can go outside (teaching hospital) and treat himself, then repeat the x-ray at the clinic (this route MAY be cheaper, but i'm not sure). My thoughts on the matter for your consideration against words of wisdom other valued contributors will soon drop.... |
i have to choose between kemzone2003 and temmytanny. Tough choice. |
