PoliticsDogara Fails To Settle Saraki, Presidency Rift by DONLEKAN(op): 1:11am On Oct 09, 2015
There were indications on Thursday that the move by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, to settle the rift between the Presidency and the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has failed to yield a positive result.

It was gathered that at the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and Dogara on Monday in Abuja, the Presidency insisted that Saraki must sever his relationship with the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

Findings by The PUNCH showed that the development meant the removal of the Peoples Democratic Party legislator from Enugu State from the number five political office in the country.

It was gathered that removing Ekweremadu was reportedly viewed by The Presidency as one of the possible political solutions to the heat generated by the trial of Saraki by Code of Conduct Tribunal for a an alleged false declaration of assets.

However, Saraki is said not to be disposed to the idea, arguing that he would not betray his deputy.

“The view of the Presidency is that the arrangement in the Senate whereby a PDP senator is the deputy president in an All Progressives Congress Party-led government is a misnomer, which should not be allowed.

“If there is a political option, this is one; the arrangement is not right,” a senior National Assembly official informed The PUNCH.

Investigations showed that President Muhammadu Buhari and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yakubu Dogara, had met at the Aso Rock Villa on Monday.

Doagra reportedly conveyed the decision of the House to Buhari, informing him of the House resolution calling for a political solution to Saraki’s travails.

“The President did not like the arrangement in the Senate,” the source added.

It was gathered that on the part of the Senate President and Dogara, they considered altering the “balance of power” in the National Assembly, as presently constituted, as another signal for a major political crisis.

Another official explained further, “Both the PDP and the APC and other political parties participated in the election of the principal officers of the National Assembly.

“There are forces in place and there is no way this suggestion will fly. Removing Ekweremadu can only be by impeachment proceedings. It is not by a directive.

“For the House, there are concerns over whether such a suggestion will not rub off on its leadership as well,” the source stated.

The House, had in a resolution passed on Wednesday last week, asked Dogara to intervene in Saraki’s case by meeting with Buhari and the Senate President with a view to finding a political solution to the matter.

The move by the House came soon after the Code of Conduct Tribunal arraigned the Senate President over alleged false asset declaration.

The House had argued that a political solution could save the country the heat generated in the polity by Saraki’s trial at the CCT.

It also claimed that a matter affecting the National Assembly could indirectly be a threat to democracy.

The Chairman, House Ad hoc Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Sani Zoro, could be reached for comments on the outcome of the meeting between Buhari and Dogara.

PoliticsRe: Politics: Bukola Saraki, 15 Apc Senators To Defect To Pdp – Spy Nigeria by DONLEKAN: 8:54pm On Sep 21, 2015
If the senators decamp before Saraki is impeached. PDP will become majority in the senate. This means, PDP will have to decide who becomes senate president after Saraki's removal. In that case, sledge hammer will be used on Saraki instead of ordinary hammer in the court.

The unfolding will make for a good movie.

PoliticsPresidency Under Pressure To Relocate Villa Church, Mosque by DONLEKAN(op): 8:34pm On Sep 15, 2015
Indications emerged Tuesday night that despite denials by top officials of the administration, the Presidency had come under pressure to relocate the Villa Chapel, where Christians have been worshipping on Sundays.
Informed Presidency sources familiar with the location of the Villa Chapel, which was built and inaugurated by President Olusegun Obasanjo, is said to be too close to Buhari’s bedroom and kitchen and must give way.
Findings show that unlike Obasanjo who deliberately built the church to be close to his official residence so that he could enjoy worship and prayers from the comfort of his bedroom, the same would not apply to the new president, who is of a different faith.

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by DONLEKAN: 12:59pm On Sep 04, 2015
If I tell you my story you go pity me. Sometimes in late 2013 I bought 1 million unit of transcorp at around N1.2. When it got to 1.8 I sold it thinking I had enough profit only for transcorp to rise to 5.4 in 3 weeks. Bought plenty Oando just after COP deal at over N30 only for it to retrace back. Bought so many stocks sometimes at cheap prices. It will just stay there until I sell. Bought FBNH just after election at N10, look where I am now.

Bought millions of Unity Bank. See my life after re-construction!!!.

In short, e be like say den dey follow me. I believe i dey misfire due to lack of info. My cousins made millions from stocks pre 2008 because he had a trader friend who gave him vibes before everyone knew about it. That is what I need now. I know some people knew about this UBA before it became public knowledge.

If una no tell me wetin dey I go join babalawo (na joke) dey consult oracle on top NSE.

Choi!!! Oando is for extreme JIJO o. The more you look the less you see. So much volatility hence profit/loss too. We need an "Oando expert" to break down that result. But I want you to understand that Oando has about the most complex company structure ever known on the NSE. Loss in OER doesn't NECESSARILY translate to loss in Oando. Oando provides funds at an interest for the capex of OER. OER is the upstream subsidiary of Oando that just acquired COP assets. It's listed on the Toronto stock exchange but Oando raised virtually all the capital involved (OER could as well have been the vehicle used).

Did you notice net loss position at H1'14? Oando declared substantial profit and even paid interim at H1'14. The net loss position has improved from c. -177m USD to c. -50m USD even with improved revenues. I am inclined to think, Oando will fair better based on this.

Like I mentioned earlier, this is my very own own very personal personal personally basis for taking the Oando risk grin . My TT analysis as some would call it. All I am interested in, is making money from trading this stock.
I suggest you look at the banking sector instead. It's a safer bet for you. In fact, there are so many stocks out there that will give you appreciable profits from trading them before the year runs out. Most stocks recovered some lost grounds lately. Virtually everyone registered significant profits. cheesy
What is your choice banking stock as we speak. I am in the process of putting both legs in FBNH!!!. This must not lana ooo.

Now that UBA is gone.........My picks for the September/October are SKYE and Oando.
SYKE:
1. The positive effect of the merger will be further consolidated in Q3.
2. It has one of the best BVPS relative to price in the sector (check other metrics too)
3. The management seem to be hell bent on raising equity, hence the MM (FBN securities) will keep driving trades with corresponding price increase to target levels.

Oando:
1. FY end 2014 is expected this month with an accompanying corporate action.
2. Q1, Q2'2015 is expected to be released simultaneously. I expect margins Y on Y, to have improved due to the significant debts pay back from the crude price hedge reset done, equity raised and proceeds of fractional divestment of a downstream arm.

Cons:
Keep in mind these dates in September
1. September 16-17 (US Feds meeting)
2. September 21-22 (MPC)
3. September 11 (9'11 anniversary)
4. Keep tab on industry news for Oando.

Outcome of these meetings, anniversary and news may temper or aid any profit projections.

These are personal postulations which will guide my investment in the coming months or better still, will be the basis of my investment risks.
Oga, we need to talk about this Oando claims. Have you read this link about Oando. It's all gloom according to the link unless something miraculous happens.
