PoliticsRe: “I May Not Survive Beyond This Year” — IBB Reflects On Life, Legacy, Insecurity by DONLEKAN: 8:20am On May 25
Many of you eulogizing IBB are either unlearned or are kids too young to understand Nigerian history. IBB is the genesis of so many problems bedeviling Nigeria today. He (IBB) institutionalized corruption. He indirectly killed my friend (Femi Aderibigbe shot in Molete Ibadan) during the 1993 IBB must go crisis that rocked Nigeria. Infact, he killed so many innocent people in order for him to hold on to power. It's a shame to see you guys say he tried. These idiots know this nation as a good of divided unlearned people, that is why they perform the heist they do on all of us. Imagine your children praising your present day oppressors some 20-30years after they spoil the nation some more.

I had to ask like 5 times if they were joking or not. Same person I was told, threw a child in a well some years back. Some people are just evil by nature. My folks live in Erigo Eriwe area. Really sad.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Electorally Massacred Atiku In Kano by DONLEKAN: 6:02pm On Feb 26, 2023
Many of you guys a learners in politics. APC is trying to take ATIKU and Kwankwaso out of the race in preparation for a run-off. In other words, OBI is going to be Isolated where his fuckup can be treated properly. In the run-off, there will be no Northern Candidate and they will be forced to make a choice between BAT and OBI. Your guess is as good as mine of what will happen in that scenario.
PoliticsRe: Electing A Northerner In 2023 Will Be The Costliest Mistake By Southerners by DONLEKAN: 3:55am On Jun 21, 2022
@ OP you spoke my mind. I already told everyone in my circle. The issue with this election is not so much of who wins but the effect it will have on Southerners' bargaining power in this contraption called Nigeria. The worst thing that happened so far is Tinubu winning APC primary. Mind you, I am Yoruba but not a fan of the guy. He should have supported Osibanjo but he wants to be president at all cost. Northerners will believe anytime a party presents a Southern candidate, the other party should present a Northernern candidate and everybody in the North ports to the party presenting Northern candidate. This will make parties argue they must present a candidate that can win and not prioritise zone. There are 2 major problems with the South/Midlebelt. Lack of unity and our propensity not to vote. In this unfolding evil of a Nation called Nigeria, We must be prepared to bear whatever pain becomes our lot and that of our children because we have failed to think and do the needful.

There is no rational way to explain how Buhari thinks. Put another way, Buhari does not think at all. He is the most useless ruler ever. The worst of three possible scenarios could have played out here today. Worst is Lawan and his malo compatriots winning, second is Tinubu winning (looks like what is about to happen), and last my choice candidate of PYO winning. Why did Buhari tell us he had a candidate in mind, he cared so much about his candidate he was worried he might get killed. I give up on Buhari, nothing good can come out of him.

I agree with you. Unless something drastic happens, this election may not go his way. Worst part, the North may clinch it. Buhari to me has always been a dissapointing person. He fails to lead. Maybe he planned with his Northern brothers to clinch it so he can say he allowed free and fair contest. All other options on the table won't make it for me. Mark my word, if BAT clinches it, he may not win the genral election come next year. BAT is a political general who has many political scars. He does not look healthy sef. I am really dissapointed in Nigeria. The only consolation for me, I no dey Naija. If una make a bad person your president, na una sabi for Nigeria.

TonyeBarcanista:
By Tonye Barcanista

It is my firm position that in the interest of justice, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should make way for a Southerner to emerge as next presidential candidate.

Notwithstanding the aforementioned, in the event that the reports across various media that the Zoning Committee of the party is tilting towards retention of the 2019 zoning arrangement where the North and South produced the party's Presidential candidate and party chairman respectively, is confirmed, I shall abide by the decision of the party irrespective of the zoning arrangement of the All Progressive Congress because the ruling party is not an option. Moreover, chieftains of APC from the south and their sympathizers, especially those of southwest axis, have never hidden their disloyalty to southern interest since 2010. The record is there for all to see;

2011: Southern APC (ACN) Sabotaged Southern Interest
In the buildup to the 2011 general election, the leaders of the now defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, which is a principal partner in the All Progressive Congress merger, fielded a northern candidate, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and also sought to enter deal with General Muhammadu Buhari of Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, in their bid to capture power at the centre. ACN leaders led by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Bisi Akande, Adams Oshiomole, Rauf Aregbesola, Raji Fashola, Kayode Fayemi, and a host of others, ignored the fact that the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party and incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan, was a fellow southerner from the southsouth geopolitical; a zone that had never produced Nigeria's president prior to then.

It was after their proposed ACN/CPC alliance failed due to alleged power greed of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu that some southern elites of the party literally backtracked. Even at that, some of them worked for Mallam Nuhu Ribadu in that election, giving him sizable number of votes in Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti and even Oyo states. Ribadu also won popular vote in Osun state.

After the 2011, Asiwaju Tinubu and other southern ACN elites, in their quest for political power, sabotaged the plans of the southern PDP by sabotaging their own kinswoman, Hon Mulikat Akande Adeola, from emerging as Speaker of Federal House of Representatives. Instead, they mobilised for the emergence of a NORTHERNER from Sokoto state, Rt Hon Aminu Tambuwal. After sabotaging Honorable Adeola, they went behind to sponsor media propaganda that the then PDP government of Jonathan "shortchanged the Yoruba nation".

2015: They Worked Against South To Shift Power To North
Penultimate to 2015 election, these Southern elites reactivated their 2011 failed merger with Buhari, and they succeeded to form APC. At the APC primary in December 2014, they did not work for the emergence of the only southern Presidential aspirant, Rochas Okorocha, to emerge as candidate. Instead they worked for General Muhammadu Buhari from Katsina state of northwest.

Furthermore, it didn't occur to them that the man they sought to dethrone, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, a fellow southerner from Bayelsa state, is a Southerner like them. Instead, they were determined to install a northern Buhari in their quest to be at the centre. Some of them accused their kinsmen from Yorubaland that were working for Jonathan as "bast*rds". Fellow southerners from the southeast and southsouth became their target of propaganda and abuse. Even their chieftains in the southsouth and southeast, like Rotimi Amaechi, Rochas Okorocha, Timpre Sylva, Adams Oshiomole, Ogbonaya Onu and their likes, ensured that they sabotaged the popular sentiment of their respective zones to actualise Buhari's presidency.

2023: Who Do These APC Elites Want To Fool?
Ahead of the 2023 election, these same APC southern elites are shouting "turn of the south" because they want to be the beneficiary. They and their agents are hypocritically chanting united south irrespective of party lines simply because they know that should APC go south, they are the people to benefit from it. Just because they need the collective votes of entire southerners, including their fellows from southwest that were maligned for standing with Dr Jonathan and Hon Mulikat in 2011 and 2015, as well as those of the southeast and southsouth that were targets of their propaganda in their quest to actualise Muhammadu Buhari presidency.

Indeed, it is only someone with short memory that will fall for their tricky game.

Therefore, southern APC chieftains and their agents like Chief Dele Momodu should stop being clever by half.

Written by Tonye Barcanista Inioribo
You are delusional to say the least. I can recall vividly that you supported the emergence of Buhari in 2015. I am crystal clear about this, during APC presidential primary that held in Lagos, you were against Atiku who did everything to buy all candidates the PDP style. You can vote who you want in 2023, some of us will do what is right for the nation. You can blame the Hausa-Fulani for their retrogressive policies but when it comes to being nationalistic, you can fault them. You will be amazed to see that a southern candidate from APC will trounce whoever PDP power hungry folks come up with. Truth be told SE-terners suck at politics. Nigeria is like a poligamous families where there are machinations and counter machinations. You have to be street wise to see where things are going. I am not Nosatrdamus but if recent events are anything to go by, PDP VP will go to SS and not SE. If Hausa- Fulani wants to play the whole South, they will impose another Northerner on APC with a Southern VP. Then, we all have no choice but to pick between 2 Northern candidates. That in my opinion will be a short term win for North which may be counter productive in the medium to long term.

That's not true, dont blame the young man. Some ladies are just foolish and still live in children's world. I have dated a lady before that told me that she will love her mother more than her husband. Now, do you think that such a lady will listen to the husband's advice over her mother's? Woe betide the man if the lady's mother is a bad one, because she will be a bad influence on her daughter, and from observation, girls like this seldom have a mind of their own. They are easily influenced to act foolishly by mother or friends. Mind you, I am not against the friendliness of a man or woman with their mothers, but they should know that an adult is an adult and things should be done moderately.
My brother, I choose to follow you on the basis of this your comment. Some women fail to use their brains. They complicate their lives only to run around claiming men are evil. Is it rocket science for a woman to know she needs to create time for her man. We are all praying to outlive our parents. After your mum is gone (hopefully in her old age), is that when you will expect the man you have abandoned over the years to create time for you and make you his all-in-all?.

tuniski:
How has saying it is the turn of the north different from restructuring?
So to you restructuring is all about rotational presidency?. This is why the Northern elite always claim those who are screaming about restructuring are confused about what it means. To him, the structure of Nigeria was good enough in 2011 if he became president. He is only screaming restructuring today hoping some gullible people from the South will hear that and cast their votes for him.

Infact if Nigeria is genuinely restructured, we will not bother so much about who is Nigeria's president because regional govt will have more power.
PoliticsRe: Laziness Responsible For North’s Opposition To Restructuring –atiku Abubakar by DONLEKAN: 5:52am On Sep 25, 2017
If you tell Atiku that he will only be the president of Nigeria if he abuses his dead mother, the nigga will do just that. The guy likes power like his life depends on it. In 2010 / 2011 election, he was a staunch proponent of it's the turn of the North. Now he is telling the South what they will like to hear. He knows when he enters the room with his Northern brothers, he will tell them he is only cajoling Southerners; that he will never betray Northern interest.

We don wise up. Our mumu don do

PoliticsRe: Jonathan's Visit To Kano, 2015 Vs 2017 - PHOTOS by DONLEKAN: 2:24pm On Jul 09, 2017
Most Nigerians are unwise particularly Southerners who believe say na dem dey educated pass. Let me interpret what is happening to you. The local politicians know what dey did to Jonathan in 2015 and they know SE & SS feel offended. They also know the state of the country vis a vis Buhari's state of health. No one can say of a truth that Buhari will complete his presidency and they are afraid that should Osibanjo take a shot at the presidency, it will be difficult if the South is united with Federal might. So, the local politicians hired crowd to welcome him so they can draw him closer and assuage his feelings of political loss. They want him to feel loved and hopefully campaign for their candidate. Should that happen, they will be the one to first come out and say we determine the future of the country. We determine who leads this country.

Lekan!
you try, as a good citizen of Nigeria.
Now if you go through this estimate figures, you will see it confirmed what I said earlier.
people were agitating that the federal government is cheating them, they want to control what they have. with your proposition those who have right to generate revenue for themselves and have additional from federal govern is not satisfy, can such a person satisfy to hold 20% out of what he generate and waiting for the return of certain percentage of 80% he sent from center?
Should Nigeria rely on the provinces to generate resources for her survival, be sure that Nigeria can not survive for a month.
Also Nigeria problems is not only economics but political and social, if you go back to my post above, you will see how it solved the economics, social and political problems of Nigeria!
although I appreciate your efforts.
You see, as it stands now, people have no control whatsoever from what is generated from their region. The FG looms large, the FG collects all of the collectable revenue and keeps 55% for itself in Abuja redistribute the remaining on the basis of Population, landmass and number of local government that exist. As it stands nobody is thinking of any form of wealth creation because FG will take it all, it is just like you are creating wealth for the rest of the Nation to share without significant gains to you the creator of the wealth. If you look at my proposal closely. In 30yrs time, regions will take 50% of what they generate while remaining 50% is contributed to centre. From there you will get nothing less than 50% of what you contributed to the centre in the first place. Remember, part of 50% you contributed will be used to run a leaner Federal government. This in my opinion will solve agitation problem and everyone will focus on creating wealth because they get to keep at least 75% of what they generate. If you can keep 75% of what you generate, I don't know why any reasonable person will complain again. I suggested that 80% be contributed to centre in year 1 because we are coming from position of 100% contribution to centre and we decrease contribution to centre by 1% every year for the next 30 years. So that in year 30 after financial restructuring you contribute 50% of your regional generation to centre in which you get some back. You need to bear in mind that before civil war, regions contributed 50% to centre so we need to revert to that. This is a big improvement from pre civil war era .
PoliticsRe: The Only Restructuring Of Nigeria That Will Be Acceptable To All Is This... by DONLEKAN: 1:11pm On Jul 03, 2017
This will engender competition such that everybody will strive to create wealth so that there will be more to share in the first place. If you look at Nigeria everyone wanna claim to be the best that is why you see Igbo vs Yoruba acrimony every now and then. If paradigm changes such that you will be as wealthy as the wealth you create. Our leaders will get back to the drawing board.

Let us say within the 30years one Northern province increased it population by *2. How will that change the last scenario. Say NW wanna play population game it doubles its population the situation will look as painted below. NW gets more money but not overwhelmingly.

PoliticsRe: The Only Restructuring Of Nigeria That Will Be Acceptable To All Is This... by DONLEKAN: 1:01pm On Jul 03, 2017
If you look at the last picture, South grew economies by *10 each while North grew by *5. In this scenarios Southern provinces benefited the most from the growth even though the Norther provinces also benefited from the Southern growth but not to the same extent that the province that generated the wealth benefited. This way, it makes everyone wanna work hard because you will be the primary beneficiary. With the above scenario, The Nothern provinces got from the Central redistribution system more than they contributed that is a way of helping the more disadvantageous provinces. You know this model makes sure a leaner central govt is financed by 20% of all regional contribution while 80% is shared in accordance with population and how much you contributed in the first place.
PoliticsRe: The Only Restructuring Of Nigeria That Will Be Acceptable To All Is This... by DONLEKAN: 12:53pm On Jul 03, 2017
The number of years after restructuring is in red. You need to bear in mind that this whole thing is based on assumptions. A WHOLE LOT OF ASSUMPTIONS. If you looks closely, it appears the money given to Northern states did not reduce over the 30yrs but the one to SS, SW and SE increased marginally. This is simply because over the years the plan is to reduce money going to central govt and to make provinces to control their wealth the more as we progress into restructuring. It will be interesting to see if all provinces in South should increase their revenue generation by *10 while Northern Provinces increased theirs by *5. The situation will look as depicted below.
