Guys back to the topic. I think SLS's assertion that the North is poor because of 13% derivation to the oil producing states is evil and "bad belle" politics to say the least. Disappointingly, i had always thought that guy was a new bread of leader from the North. That particular statement gives him away totally. We all have been shouting our self to high heavens that the Nigerian government should improve on fiscal federalism principle but people like SLS never lend their voices to such as it of no gain to the establishment which he has shown himself to identify with. Admittedly, that fiscal federalism means different things to different people. But of all the variants of fiscal federalism principles I have heard of from the very extreme of absolute resource control from oil producing states to that favored by owners of Nigeria. I think the least controversial is that which states that the monstrous FG should reduce it's control on the Nation's finances from 50+ as it is now so that states and local governments are empowered financially to meet their constitutional responsibilities. My believe is that SLS believes that with that useless, demeaning statement of his. He can increase his political capital with the North and that might favour him in the future should he seek elective post. |
I am getting something wrong here. @ Afam4ever I thought you were once a supporter of Ebele?. Correct me if I am wrong. It appears quite a number of people are finally on the same page as those of us who saw it coming long b4 now. At any rate, den say, den no dey catch latecomer for heaven; meaning u can't be too late to do the right thing. You know what, at the end of Jonatha's dispensation, I expect our brothers from the South south to return to the creeks and continue from where they paused. Those people of South south and some from South East extraction who support (I must admit his support in the East is waning with time) Jonathan no matter what he does are like coulpes who legitimately waited to have a baby. It didn't come in years after marriage. Eventually, the child comes after so many night vigils and prayer and the child is over-pampared by the parents to the extent they don't want anybody to help them correct the child for any wrong doing. Your guess is a s good as mine what will become of such a child - parents relationship. In one word, the child will become a liability to the parents in the future. Some of us have taken consolations in the wisdom of our fathers which says that " ti idi ba baje tan, ti onidi lo ma da". |
@ Desola, while I agree with your line of reasoning to an extent I must say "U dey provoke ooo"". Ki la gbe ki le ju?. |
This is it. This is the main issue we need to start discussing in Nigeria not all the diversionaries the owners of Nigeria would have us fight about. Whosoever says this guy is not making sense does not deserve to see better days!!!. He has always made sense to me. He is the kind of man we need at the helm of affairs in Nigeria, rather most Nigerian's brains have been wired to always look for ethno-religious dimension to every issue. So sad but true. El Rufai, may God continue to bless you. I know someday we will get there. I just read in the news now that opposition won election in Zambia. We will get our freedom from the PDP bastards soonest. |
Beaf, I need to tell you that you are a disgrace to decency. Because your townsman is now the President you have thrown cautions to the wind. It is indeed particularly shameful because when it is obvious that Aregbesola is making sense in this case you still came out shouting gibberish. For every discerning mind, it is obvious that the bane of the Nigerian Nation is not implementation of true federalism. I quite believe that depending on who you talk to, each individual's idea of what true federalism means is different but whatever will take us away from our present crazy position in which our FG always feels like the senior brother in our Federal arrangement is good. Even though some of us do not have any problem with someone from the so-called minority ethnic group ruling Nigeria, what we are against is sitting back and watching an Idiot rule a nation of intelligent men and women all in the name of it's our time. Need I tell you that a SS man will not always be the president of Nigeria. After GEJ's four year, you should expect another Nigerian most probably a non SSoutherner (More likely and Hausa man) to rule Nigeria once again. Would you maintain your position that our FG headed by an Hausa man ( that you love to hate) should keep as much as they keep (55%) now. It is my candid opinion that the most important government as far as the people are concerned is the one closest to them. Anybody who loves Nigeria should encourage a situation whereby we devolve power from the Almighty federal government that assumes responsibility for everything and gets nothing done to the local and regional (or states as the case may be, I prefer we maintain the six regions as the federating units). Should you register with another ID after Jonathan's government to say whatever is convenient at that point. I want to assure you that wrath of God will not depart from your household for promoting falsehood and evil. Before you accuse me of cursing you, I know that was a very strong statement but you need to know that some of us are tired of criminal elements like you and we want our nation to change for better. |
I quite agree with most people that said you should focus on you academics for now, but I do not agree with the way most people said it. Today, I am in my early thirties and I feel I am in a position to give you what I will call a big brother advice. What most of those who feel as old as Metuselah forget is that we all passed through this stage in Life. I can tell U as early as primary two, I can recall I had affinity for some girls. They also forget that for most young people, relationship is synonymous to marriage which in not true. My candid advice to you is that you are just starting life and you should not allow anybody force you to living an "incomplete life". It is my candid opinion that at that stage you should learn to have a healthy relationship with people of the opposite gender without much promises as "I will marry you". Going by the average age that people get married in Nigeria, I have a feeling that U are just about halfway to that age. Chances that you are going to meet a lot of unanticipated surprises on your way. So, live each day as it comes. In addition, if this girl makes you happy which I think she does, my advice to you is to keep her as I do not think you are too young to be happy. But that being said, you must set your priorities right in life as love doesn't pay bills. A wise man is one who can strike a balance between his immediate needs and ultimate needs. Of course, there is an immediate need to feel loved and the ultimate needs to have a good family 2moro as well as meet all the needs that status confers. So my brother live your life to the fullest and make sure U always put on your thinking cap. Much love. |
I am sure that GEJ will be returned the winner after the presidential election. But I have one prayer for all you guys supporting him. May you be the only beneficiary of whatever GEJ brings. Joy or Sorrow. How many of you guys can say Amen. I need to make it clear that I do not believe that Buhari is a perfect man. There is a part of me that celebrate his hunting by the ghost he made and the other part of me tells me that he is the man for the job. 90%+ of Nigeria's problem is traceable to corruption and he is the only one we can trust with the job to uproot corruption in Nigeria. Time will tell. |
Well, for me my experience tells me that girls cannot be trusted that much. She might have said that to "sample" your opinion on her bisexual orientation. If you wouldn't mind, she might want you to join them in the act. Having said that, I would rather ask you, what is your impression on the whole thing. If I found myself in that sort of twist 7 yrs ago, I would have rocked the two to satisfaction but today I am more grown up and I believe that I should more matured about life now. So, in summary, the floor is yours. Blow the girls to stupor if it isn't against your convictions or morals. Mind you, if you really want to marry the girl, I would not advice you to do that. Infact, if you had plans to marry her, I suggest you begin to reconsider your plans. No ahrd feelings towards the girl, just my candid opinion as I would have done if I was in your shoes. |
