That's the right thing to do. Reprisal attack would be the Hausa undoing especially if it's done in Ile-Ife, it would likely degenerate some thing worse. I only pity people of other ethnic groups in the core north, especially the corper. Both tribes are wrong in their approach but I'll blame Yoruba the more for being so vengeful and Lord Lugard the most for almagamating a people so disjointed. |
We like misleading people with our headlines. Ooni of Ife jittery? Of what? This is a king that's so peace loving that tried protecting the Hausa's considering that they are minority in Ife with their location, Sabo a central one. Had our security personnel been effective, over 400 of Hausas that were killed wouldn't have been. I heard him on channels insisting all those involved must be arrested irrespective of tribe and of today, the transport worker whose reprisal attack led to the fight and 6 other persons have been arrested. We are mostly religious hence, the fasting advice and I won't be surprise if he hold a peace festival on his return considering him a traditionalist. So you think an ethnic/communal fight that resulted in the death of over 400 people with the root cause just being a common slap without a spiritual undertone abi? Despite my core belief in cause and effect, some effect are so disproportional, so, a force must be backing it. So if he had a prior appointment in London he should not go abi. Thank God he was in Ife when it happened, if not, some people would have called for his head. Accusing him of wake waka around while the ancient city burns. Some people just like thinking the oonirisa is just like their village king whose petty lifestyle is depicted in most Nollywood film. Or like their Governor without physical strategy at combating a problem other than wailing, praying and fasting. Even Fayose that we all considered stupid took a wise approach to end the menace. Nonsense. |
He said we shouldn't comment, so, I'm keeping mum |

Osibanjo is trying but the truth is that no amount of incentives you give to the medium and small scales manufacturers is as useful as the government creating the right working conditions. I don't want diesel reduction for my generator but give me constant power. I don't want special exchange rate but make forex available at the bank rate when I need. I'm producing at an increased cost yet you open the borders for foreigners to dump goods at a competitive price while running me out of business. The government won't stop shouting entrepreneurship and small and medium scale because it massages their ego while giving them the delusion of effectiveness. Create a viable hub in Aba and see if trade with China won't fall by large percentage and saving us some forex. The only government I know who knows something close to creating the right environment is Ambode. His support for Yaba, Nigeria's emerging Silicon Valley comes to mind and also not forgetting his plans for Ladipo market. And that's a leader. |
Lalasticlala please come and close this thread. It's can escalate into something more gruesome in the future and moreover it's disrespectful to the dead. May they all rest in peace. There's no gain in violence, Nigeria is never one. |
Pelumi, Jenifa, Kiki (my crush) and......... |
The bitter truth is that it is not encouraging. How can a country claiming to be giant of Africa without a significant standard airport safe MMM which is still consider below par and not up to the required international standard. Imagine the headache and stress we are going through just because the Abuja airport is needs renovation. So there wouldn't have been a good VIP lounge if the Abuja airport is not to be closed. Moreover, what I'm seeing here is not five star, so, there's nothing special about it. No wonder the cabal wants Buhari back before the closure. E go better. |

DollarAngel: ![]() DollarAngel:He remains my hero and I'm lucky he is a fellow Afonja #lol Any political leader from your tribe worthy of emulation? |
I am tired of all this Dasuki news. It is either you successfully prosecute him or keep quiet. The APC government have been shouting Dasuki this, Dasuki that since entering government without something tangible. |
You can be sure he won't throw a party. He is definitely not a 'Nigeria's. |
It's a challenging task not to let the human nature of you come into play when in charge of people who you have almost absolute authority over based on your perceived status with God. Many are guilty as accused but this further goes to show that we are all human, but them being MOG, we definitely expect more from them. It has always been a big task for Pastors, howbeit commoner among these new and young generation Pastors as most lack the discipline and training required for the call. That is how one guy went ahead to start ministry on graduation claiming to be called by God, I just shook my head. If you can spend four years for just basic BSc degree, it's now ministry you think you can jump into without any tutelage other than being a fellowship exco. Oyakhilome was never accused of adultery, we just like twisting things to suit our hateful minds. I'm not a member though. I challenge the op to come with a quote where the wife accused him of "adultery". |
This man should shut up. He still has the boldness to talk. |
Congrats. This is a sixty year old with brain unlike many others. |
Shetima has shown gratitude and the tendency of being loyal. Bola Tinubu is indeed a man we should be grateful to because had it not be for his political wisdom, PDP would most likely be in power. One thing that separates him from the typical Nigerian politician is his ability to spot talents, supports them yet giving them the freedom to perform while keeping a distance without undue Godfatherism influence. Before the election, he was by far the most powerful person in APC whose influence won Buhari the primaries despite a more structured and funded campaign from Atiku. He is definitely the leader of the Yoruba, a position that should automatically have gone to Obasanjo having been a three time head of state. This further shows that leadership is not by position but your influence. Despite having last occupied an elective position 10 years ago, he still commands so much respect even more than the most recent head of state. Many would do anything to wane his power in APC, because a less powerful Tinubu the better for many. Call him anything, he remains a detribalise Nigerian, The Jagaban of Borgu. |

We need leaders with this kind of Abuja to Lagos strength. Wasn't he the same person who sworn Onoghen in just few minutes ago and now in Lagos. Tribal sentiments aside, PYO should have been the president if only he has the Buhari followership but since he doesn't, the less educated who has the numeric support to win elections is the president. That's how democracy gives accent to politics in determining our leaders. I just pray Buhari strips the Cabal and Duara the power and give it to Osibanjo on his return while he rest and enjoy the appellation of The president. |
There is a mystery behind the man, Tinubu. The most revenue generating name to the Nigeria media house whose playful response to questions in Akure during Akeredolu's inaugural caused a media frenzy for over 2 weeks. I see reason why many love to hate him, it's difficult seeing your contemporary suddenly becoming too powerful, therefore, your own future in politics now inherent in his accent. Despite having left power from ten years ago he arguably commands more respect than the most recent head of state. I pray he won't one day aspire to be president because many of his supposed friends are waiting to sabotage him. He is better a King maker. Long live Asiwaju to support more Buharis; and give us more Osibanjos, Fowlers and Ambode. |

These arrest of his is an attempt by the government to send a message to anyone who dares challenging them on sensitive issues. No Fulani herdsmen has been arrested despite the massacre but you're quick to arrest someone who erroneously vented his anger based on a personal story told him by his driver. If GEJ arrested El-rufia for all the sensitives comments/tweets he made during the last tenure he would have contested the governorship election from Kuje prison. |

Sirpluv:You should be able to sense objectivity in his response and appreciate that. He won't cost him much if he had ignored it but he devoted his time to explain. I don't know of other departments but Medicine is almost always due to merit. |
