Politics / Re: Bauchi To Build 140MW Power Plant by DonMagicJuan: 1:06pm On Oct 13, 2013
emiye:

Can you answer a simple question like what is the source of fuel for the Bauchi gas plant?

For a natural gas powered plant, pipelines will be laid from the Natural gas Provider facility to the power plant location. I am sure for the Alausa power project natural gas pipelines were laid from gas supplier to loation of plant, and this inreases the cost of project compared to a similar capacity diesel fired power plant.

I was involved in the evaluation of the 12.15 MW Akute power project by Lagos, which is a dual powered gas plant (diesel and natural gas).
13km of natural gas pipeline was laid from Gas link(the gas supplier) to the site of power plant, this definitely contributed to increase in cost of project compared to a diesel fired power plant. Environmental impact assessment also required that relevant stakeholders of areas where pipeline passes through are compensated .

The advantage of having a dual fired powered plant is that in the event something negative happens to the gas pipelines, it can be switched to diesel.

We must learn to be reasonable, and not make generic assumptions

Which gas pipeline? Why are you adding it now when we know there was none in the first place.
Oando is handling the project from inception, commission and also when it is up and running so that tells me that Oando will be supplying gas to the power plants but not by pipelines as you have mentioned but by normal truck haulage.

Rad1cal: The APC ediots are so pathetic, trying to rationale the fact that economics of scale will hugely impact a 10.34 MW to incur a 800 million excess against a 100+MW plant.

Even more atrocious is that the most expensive/inflated happened to be that with numerous advantages to its favour.

This APC clowns won't stop dishing out endless comedies. I swear grin grin

991: apparently, all terrorist groups have links with al-qaeda, al-qaeda is also said to have links with the CIA.
there is something we are not being told. imho terrorism is a political tool. Islam is the best organized religion on earth, truth be said.

btw an an Atheist

But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand... -Mark 13:14

Everywhere Islam spreads it's tentacles there is desolation and sorrow.

Christ prophesied that the abomination will come to rest on the same grounds as where the Temple of Solomon was built and where the inner sanctuary of God or the Holy of Holies was kept (The Arc of the Covenant).

Gbawe.:

Do you know anything about power generation? does Insincere9gerian? Especially in relation to the many, many factors that can vary cost appreciably? What sense does his uninformed 'guesswork' and logic-defying analogy make? Can you look at two people of the same size to tell who consumed more food today without seeing a detailed list of what each consumed? I hope that is simple enough and not too much "abracadabra"?

shutup already

If Bauchi that is located in the interior can do it cheaper with imported technology that was imported via Lagos port and assemble it on location over 700 miles from the Sea Port what excuse is LASG or you proffering on their behalf that makes it more expensive?

These faces above are the true face of Islam. There is nothing like moderate Islam and any Muslim not doing what they are doing now (which is killing innocent non-muslims) is considered not a true adherent to this faith or rather fate.

The Koran is explicit on who and what type of violence should be metted on.

The last commandment that Mohammed gave on his death bed was to kill all the Jews and Christians.

Do not be f00led for one second that there is such a thing as a Muslim Moderate since most Muslims believe that there will be a final war between them against the Jews and Christians.

The Time of the 12th Iman Mahdi is at hand.

The Muslims believe the Iman Mahdi will appear from a well in the last days alongside Isa (Jesus) and wage a final battle or jihad against the infidels.

Muslims have a favorite saying of how the end times will be and that is;
That it will begin immediately after jumat prayers on a Friday and by Saturday they will kill all the Jews on their Sabbath and finish off the Christians by Sunday.

This is why major secular riots involving Muslims always begin after their Friday prayers

All these men above seriously believe they are fighting the last jihad preparatory to the re-emergence of Islams last holy warrior (or Antichrist to Christians and terrorists to anybody else), the 12th Iman Mahdi

Policewoman: Dude leave this your abracadabra econometrics. From SIncerly9jerian's analogy one can deduce that the Lagos costs were greatly inflated by the govt.

Dont mind the goat.
If you are to buy a domestic generator you will know that the cost increases with the capacity output of that generating set.

The only time scale of economics works is in the kitchen were it is more expensive for a bachelor to cook a pot of stew than a family of four since the bachelor will still buy a tin of tomato and use approximately the same cooking gas. Outside that the scale is total rubish and if you include the fact that the power station is located within the vicinity of use then the construction of power grids and pylons are not necessitated which then makes this latest cost estimate nothing more than another scam to line theifnibu's pocket

Standing5: Why not disprove my argument on how scale and size of such power plants can influence cost instead of calling me an id1iot. You are not interested in an educative debate but in an e-fight to muddle things up.

First of all, I did not dignify the original thread on this latest LASG power scam with a post because Sincere Nigerian was saying all I wanted to say on the issue and you guys where just spewing your normal insult around the whole place.

Secondly, I never made any refrence to you or any one on this thread but commended Sincere Nigerian; How does that concern you?

Finally, I will not be dragged into a senseless debate with you or any of your APC hired goons on NL for f00lishness is an attribute you all share in common.

Sincere 9gerian: 140 megawatts to be built at $201 million. $201 million is equals to N32 billion.

If we divide N32 billion by 140 megawatts we'll get N230 million per megawatt.

Can we compare the N230 million per megawatt in Bauchi state versus the N400 million per megawatt in Lagos? Who will deliver Lagos from the thieving duo of Tinubu and Fashola? What sins did Lagosians commit to warrant this mindless rapiing of their resources? Who will deliver my brothers and sisters in Lagos?

I read your comments on the other thread relating the sharp practices by LASG in their latest scam project and I must say I was very impressed with how you handled those ACN baboons.
What was most intriguing was how the etouts of APC employed scale of project in justifying the huge cost of the latest LASG scam. I could not but laugh at how daft these id1iots who keep supporting Tinibus continues and constant r@pe and plunder of Lagos and the adjourning SW controlled states can come out with such an incredulous excuse based on the small scale of the project.

For one the project is co-located within the region it is meant to serve so no need for extensive grid network. Secondly, the projetc was specifically tailored to meet the demands of the State Secretariat and street lightning within and as such the generated output is expected to meet this demand and so no need for huge step down transformers.

Abeg please keep giving them hell

Let me tell you something...
Since the begining of global trade in Africa, the Niger Delta has always been rich.
The richest Men of days back were from this region.
Before Dangote, Niger Delta business men were the big wigs in Africa. A niger-delta business man in the old days had portugesse merchants ship and assemble a house from europe in his village after visiting Portugal.

In the past it was palm oil, Ivory, slaves, etc. If the oil finish (which it will not anytime soon) we will definitely get another hustle and that hustle is most likely to be brains.
