This is some good news in the sector.

I hope she is also considering better security checks for all classes of airlines.

Meanwhile I love how focused she is on her job despite disruptions from disgruntled elements.

Talk about "brushing them haters off your shoulders." smiley

OBJ's betrayal and Malabu Deal Reward

OBJ was dangled a juicy share of the off-shore Malabu deep sea well as a reward to accepting the ICJ ruling on Bakassi.

The oil wells are located within Nigerians territorial waters but a deal was struck with Sao-Tome to have berthing access for the crude.

In a nut shell, OBJ sold a part of Nigeria and stole offshore oil wells that he now shares with another country.

Who armed the Maitatsine sect and who continues to fund and arm the Boko Haram insurgency?

The main suspect appears to be France.

There is oil in the Chad Basin and there is on-going exploration and drilling on the Nigerien and Cameroonian side but we have not heard of Boko Haram striking at these western infrastructures.

So why?

Because there are some very powerful northern Nigerian individuals who own and operate these wells.

One of these individuals is IBB.

The insurgency has depopulated large swaths of land and the oil coys are moving in on these deserted areas.

So why is it that at the height of a major diplomatic row with Cameroon, Nigeria experienced a major insurgency originating from the same north eastern parts?

Co-incidence or diversionary conspiracy?
Politics / Traitors In Power: Boko Haram And Chad Basin Oil by DonMagicJuan: 9:08pm On Oct 10, 2013
What is evidently clear and agreed by all is the non-issue or cause that Boko Haram sect is claiming to fight for. Initially, their cause, as claimed, was against western education. The group launched it's campaign of terror during the administration of late President Yaradua.
The sect beared striking similarities with the Maitatsine sect that plagued Northern Nigeria in the early 80's.
On paper this similarities are mere coincidental and expected in a region were religious extremist and secular riots are frequent but if we look into the diplomatic scene of the 80's and of the summer of 2009 we are confronted with a much bigger and larger scale.

In the 80's, Nigeria nearly went to war with Cameroun over the Bakassi Peninsula.

In 2009, the Yaradua administration was seriously re-considering accepting the ICJ ruling on Bakassi and other territorial disputes with Cameroon including border areas within the Chad Basin.

to be contd...

kingoflag: Why does it seem to me like Nigerian Christians are worse, hypocritical and very intolerant of others than their Muslim counterparts?

Yes because Nigerian Christians burn down mosques every Sunday after their hate inspired sermon.

Yes. Because Nigerian Christians demand that all northerners and non-muslims should leave the south

Yes. Because Nigerian christians cut off the heads of any muslim they catch and post it on youtube.

Yes. Because of christian fanatism southern Nigeria is backward when compared to Northern Nigeria

Yes. Because Christians will blow up UN, Police Headquarters, kidnap Arab expats and execute them

Yes. Because Rome and Isreal are training Christian Fanatics to kill all muslims

Yes. Because Christians have a sit tight attitude to power and distabilized Yaradua's government not even caring that the man was sick

Christians are very intolerant.

Soon oil will be explored in the north and all those fools thinking that the north will be destroyed if we go our separate ways will be put to shame! In addition, we still maintain 70% of the country's landmass, agriculture will boom and the hydro electricity supply will be cut off to the south. That will mean 24 hour electricity for the north! Abeg GEJ hurry divide the country sharp sharp

please abeg, pettition your representatives in the senate for a referendum to be called for an independent state of arewa.

Rauf has been indicted in the U.S. by affiliation with a major terrorist recruiter

Government on Friday revealed how international terror group, al-Qaeda, planned to recruit educated Nigerians for terrorist activities.
Court processes filed by the Federal Ministry of Justice before the Federal High Court in Abuja in an extradition request case gave details of the plot anchored by a Nigerian who is now in custody of the security agency.
According to court papers, the Nigerian, Lawal Olaniyi Babafemi, who escaped arrest in the United States and was arrested in Nigeria, informed security agencies during interrogation that he was paid thousands of dollars to recruit English-speaking Nigerians into the terrorist organization.
The Federal Government is asking the court to extradite 32-year-old Babafemi, also nicknamed (‘Abdullah’ and ‘Ayatollah Mustapher’) to the United States where he is being wanted for his alleged involvement in terrorism-related activities.
In an application for extradition filed before the court, the Federal Government exhibited a four-count charge marked 13CR-109-JG filed against him before the United States District Court of the Eastern District of New York and a bench warrant issued for his arrest by a US magistrate.
Babafemi is charged with “conspiracy to provide support to a foreign terrorist organisation, provision and attempted provision of material support to a foreign terrorist organisation, unlawful use of firearms and conspiracy to unlawfully use firearms.”
The offences, on conviction, attract a minimum sentence of 10 years or maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
Babafemi, until now was based in the US. He fled to Nigeria after realising that the United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was after him.
He has since been arrested and is being held by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Documents filed by the Federal Government before the court revealed that the US authorities believe that Babafemi belongs to the “al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP),” an affiliate of al-Qaeda.
He allegedly travelled to Yemen between January 2010 and August 2011 to train with the group and relate with its senior members, including the now deceased Anwar al-Aulaqi and Samir Khan.
Babafemi was said to have admitted, upon interrogation, that he was paid about $8,600 by the AQAP to return to Nigeria and recruit some English-speaking individuals to work in AQAP’s English language media organisation.
The media organsation is believed to serve as the AQAP’s medium of radicalising English speakers, whom it recruits to commit terrorist attacks on its behalf.
The group had claimed responsibility for series of terrorist activities, including the December 25, 2009 bombing attempt in the US by a Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.
The extradition application could not be heard when it was taken to court owing to its late service on Babafemi’s counsel, S. O. Yahaya.
State’s counsel and Head, Central Authority Unit, Federal Ministry of Justice, Muslim Hassan, who said court processes were served on Babafemi a day before his appearance in court, however, agreed to Yahaya’s request for more time to file his counter-processes.
The trial judge, Justice A. R. Mohammed, later fixed hearing in the suit for August 28.

On a serious note, no single investor will want to invest in northern Nigeria for a whole lot of reasons.
Even in the Niger-Delta oil firms are de-investing on-shore and concentrating offshore.
This is one reason coupled with oil theft and vandalization that oil revenues have dropped.

Now picture northern Nigeria today with Boko Haram. Which firm other than an Arab oil company with Arab expats may be tolerated by Muslim fanatics but there is no such thing as Arab oil workers as most of the drilling is done by american, European and Indonesian drillers.

Now after you drill the oil, you need to ship it. The most ideal route will be through Kogi and Ondo. Saboteurs will ensure that this pipeline is constantly vandalized. And who will these saboteurs be? Well the same people who if they don't get their way will always cause trouble; The Tinibus, IBBs, Buharis, etc.
