Smh. How long have you been friends with your friend & how good of a friend is he? Friendships tend to last longer than most relationships, so I'd be careful which side I choose if I were you. You sure don't wanna lose a good friend because you're "in love", when in reality it's probably "in lust".

I even forgot that I have talked about the gym issue before, and no I wasn't expecting you to believe/admit such things happen. But it wasn't a pleasant experience, these other students wanted to use the gym, not because they were not "interested". I exepct certain level of denial and defence anyway.

The worst lie anybody can tell, is a lie he/she tells himself, you know these things happen on a daily basis, worst is some Nigerians have lived in SA to withness these things and for you to now come here and outrightly deny them amazes me.

You won't see me talking bad of SA, it is a nice place, but let's call a spade a spade.
I'm not one to deny anything, EVER. I still don't believe that story as it is most definitely thumbsucked to score cheap points. What was the name of this MYTHICAL school of yours? grin Name & shame cheesy Who knows, maybe one of us also schooled there & can deny or comfirm your claims
RomanceRe: Why Do Nigerians And South Africans Engage In E-fights by DonnaCorleone(f):

Hi Donna, please do not take this post as an insult or intent of insult. I would be making a few references just to clear my point. True Nigerians are boostful and arrogant its a default and we sometimes don't recognize the fact that others find it offensive, even they way we talk, its like a fight and foreigners find it irritating, pardon us, its just our lifestyle and culture.

Now to answer you, No! South Africans don't treat everybody same, certain races are sacred and you know it.

South Africans have this disdain for Nigerians or other blacks who have achieved certain level of success that's unexplainable. I have a friend, Uche, who I later had to work under his supervision. He was one of the top executives at standard bank and one of a very few blacks in such position, during a conference SA staffs started throwing shades at him for no just reason, using his ethnicity as Igbo, that they are briging drugs to SA, he should advice his brothers to be like him. Granted it was a good advice or so to speak, but it was just too obvious the intent. In his response, he said he won't deny his brothers, but maybe if SAs stop taking the drugs his brothers won't have to bring it in.

Now on a personal note. On the life of everything I hold dear, I schooled in SA, attened one of the finest institutions, a predominately white school, I could count the number of blacks, as of when I graduated it had cost me a little above R1m. Do you know that the black students were being prevented from using the school gym by the white students and nothing was done? It wasn't until myself and another Nigerian came that we changed that, they were treated as tho they lack the intellectual capacity to succeed there and only interested in their fees. Black staffs were treated with disrespect except we intervane.

True Nigerians have got a loud mouth, something we don't recognize until we have travelled and seen other cultures, but you cannot deny that these things don't happen or all that have been said is untrue. Again if you find any of my comment offensive, askies neh!!!

Dankie!!!

Pardon all typo errors
I remember you & your story about the gym, I still don't believe it. As I've told you before, I also went to a predominantly white school in Pretoria. An Afrikaans school to boot & everything was available to anyone who wanted to use it. That is part of our bill of rights. IDK which school or area you lived in. Maybe some farm school in Ventersdorp grin I will never believe that story in a million years, as someone who was in an Afrikaner enviroment for a number of years. A few are still racist, I'll admit. And we didn't wanna be around them either. So it was not unusual to find us sitting in different racial groups during break. The Indians preferred to sit with Indians, blacks with blacks, whites with whites, etc. It's not by force that we should all mix when we have little to nothing in common. In my school most of the whites did rugby & there was one or two black students in the rugby team. It was not because they were not allowed to, they just didn't want to. The only sport that had all races was tennis, swimming & athletics.

Regarding some races receiving preferrential treatment, from whom? There're no "sacred" races here. We all receive the same treatment. Maybe you're taking everything in & viewing it through your Nigerian filter of visions & delusions. Shrugs.

I rep Hoërskool Voortrekkerhoogte, Ons glo (We believe)! grin

What happened to flaunting it if you got it ? And if you don't why not lock yourself up and shut up in your shithole. Do you not need depth to achieve your goals in life ? How come the Nigerians are able to put up what you term a facade year on year while you tremble at the feet of your colonial masters several years after apartheid ? What century will black truly be free in south Africa ? How about the brain power to nuture knowledge into wealth for your personal benefit something black South Africans lack still can not comprehend with several years of education. When exactly would you put you so call brain power to work in South Africa ? Can you compare the South Africa Mandela inherited from your lords and what you have now under Zuma who"s brain power is out of this world ? Now who exactly is without depth and shallow in all ramifications of live ?
LMFAO. This coming from someone who lives in a rat hole of darkness! Chai! grin Let me leave this post to those who specialize in it. I'm sitting on a ban as it is, so it's only wise that I take a bite of humble pie & let this one slide. Over to the others..

Visited SA for a month when Mbeki was president and all I got then was love not the hatred you jostling for right now. If Brakenfell does not depict opulence to you, I will glad trade its standard for every Nigeria city and trust me there will be no competition BTW SA & Nigeria #Fact. I work as contractor and am exporter, simply put a bizman. I put money into anything that can turn into profit. Why do you ask ? There are several Yoruba in SA say about 60/40 or max of 65/35 BTW the 2 tribes. They are just not as naturally loud the Igbo's. I do not stay in Pretoria my last visit this year was to Pretoria but am back to Lagos.

Girl you need to take a chill pill, its not my problem if your sister or her husband can't afford the standard of life she desire in Nigeria. I particularly spend triple what I spend weekly any time I visit SA. Its the way it is anytime you travel to cities where their cuisine is naturally not your first taste or beta still you should ask her to send me a pm I might just be able to offer her an upgrade but thats only if she not over 27yrs.
I'm sure you do that, overspend, to show off to anybody who cares to look. It's always about projection to you lot. Projecting a false facade of wealth because most of you lack depth & are shallow by nature. It's always about materialism & overindulgence, in order for one to feel complete as a human being. You truly are the great peacocks of the human race.

I laughed so hard when the Nigerian boyfriend of one of my FB friends posted a sealed bottle of Amarula, a roast chicken, a swiss roll, a box ultramel custard & captioned it, "My chop" grin The comments he got from his friends were hilarity HQ. They were like, "You living well ooo. God bless your hustle". LMFAO

That maybe true but I have never been friends with any Nigerian working in South Africa so i won't know. In fact I think its absurd and all my friends share the same sentiment if am to compare that with being self employed here in Nigeria I think its completely ridiculous. Maybe cos am not the white collar job kind of guy, I barely admire having to climb ladder to attain my goals in life too, so naturally should appear as make believe to you.

While living in Brakenfell, there's this sexy friend of mine Yandi. She works with the traffic unit in that city n never cease complaining about things such as mortgage on car n rent. I dare to say a very small car at that, the only set of South Africans that have seen drive the cars my friends does like Benz C350, Audi A8 etc are whites but I might be generalising like you said. I believe I should have a fair representation with those driving in n out of malls but you are right about the quarters I discovered what you will pay through your nose to have as a rich accommodation in Lekki is the basic standard of every apartment I lived in SA so yeah you can call that opulence.
LOL. You're truly delusional. Sorry to spell that out to you. Now tell me, what's so wrong about a woman who relies on herself like your friend Yandi? Having mortgage is not only limited to South Africa. In all developed countries people have mortgage & car payments, not excluding all kinds of insurance. Regarding Lekki, do all Nigerians now live in Lekki? Puhleeze. If I were to live in Nigeria, I think I'd be more at home in Lekki than anywhere else because those are the kind of living conditions I'm accustomed to.

A South African woman recently made a thread here on NL, asking if she should leave her Nigerian husband & return to SA because she was having a tough time with your poor standard of living & diet. That goes to say that we're worlds apart. You guys can only come here online to boast & make yourselves feel good, but reality says otherwise.

And to be honest Nigerians and Somalians in that order are the most hated by far in South Africa. But delusion is a thing they leave by.
Tsk tsk tsk. This is exactly the kind of attitude that guarantees a thrashing. They can only spew this garbage behind a computer screen though. I doubt any have enough cojones to spew this kind of rubbish in real life. They only limit it to comments that start with, "In my country we don't..."

You should not go on about stereotyping the entire populace. The truth is everyone hate being disrespected and so does South Africans. Now, we understand the most disrespectful tribe from Nigeria couple with the fact that an appreciable number of South Africans can now distinguish which Nigeria tribe deal with cocaine and which one deal in internet fraud you should easily understand their misgiving towards those they perceive as being bent on ruining their lives but even at that Nigerians are well respected everywhere in South Africa.

Their black envy us "Nigerian" because we live a life they have been denied by the whites" flagrant display of wealth". There is a huge complicated gap btw the rich "whites" n poor "blacks" in South African and every Afrucan hopes Zuma is able to do something able it. Their whites simple can not comprehend how we are so rich but so poor as a country. Once they are aware you are a Nigerian they dare not look down on you like they normally do on their blacks. Black South Africans have this disdain about other Africans most especially towards Kenyans Zimbabwe Ethiopians but Nigerians have been able to correct that because we live their whitemen kind of live and even do it excessively, it a life a black south African can only dream about. The disdain is stern from other black Africans going there in search of jobs, I doubt if the disdain is shown to Arab or Indian Africans. There is actually a considerable amount of both races in SA.
LMAO. In your dreams! I for one have not met a single Nigerian that I envy, so please take a page from your own comment & stop generalizing the populance. What rich lifestyle do y'all live here? Because most are barbers, shoe-repairers & hairdressers. We share the same living quarters, so maybe it's actually an upgrade to you to be living in such opulence, as compared to the
kind of living conditions you're used to back home in your country. Hence you now feel like you're made.Your post is just hilarious to me, full of make-belief & wishful thinking.

Lastly, South Africans, the hateful ones, aren't biased or picky in their hate, they dish out the same treatment to the Pakistanis, Bangladeshi, etc.

Good point. Exactly what i was saying. Who usually starts insulting the other? On some thread there was picture of topless Xhosa girls and some Nigerian guys were saying stuff like " South Áfrican cultures are backwards blah blah" what gives you a right to say that? I intervened and you know the result. What I'm saying is Nigerians need to respect other cultures. How many times have we heard Nigerians mocking Ghanians calling them 'charcoal' and stuff and yet Nigerians are usually dark complexioned as well or calling other countries like Chad or Burundi 'ordinary' and yet in the following the same Nigerians are deported from these countries. All I'm saying let's respect each other forst
I concur. Respect begets respect.

This is exactly what almost got one Nigerian guy shot in my flat. I can vouch that the people living here are decent & good people. Never there was any kind of xenophobic type argument amongst the tenants, until the incident with the Nigerian guy because of the attitude & big talk. That shut him up immediately! SA guys don't like to argue all day like women, they'd rather DO. We almost saw something scary, but thank God other people interverned & smoothed things over before
they go out of hand.
