PoliticsWe Applied Minimum Force On Shiite Members, Says Nigerian Army by Donpressman(op): 8:37pm On Dec 14, 2015
Following the clash between the Nigerian Army and the Shiite movement during a procession on Saturday and the subsequent alleged arrest of the spiritual leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, the army on Monday insisted that it applied minimum force to bring the situation under control despite the loss of lives.

Members of the group were alleged to have attempted to assassinate the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, in Zaria.
The Chief of Army Civil Relations, Brig. Gen. Rogers Nicholas, made this known while appearing on Kaakaki programme on African Independent Television (AIT), where he maintained that the army was not under pressure whatsoever in what transpired that day, stressing that the army did what was necessary to bring the situation under control.

According to him, "We tried to negotiate with them that look, you don't have to do this; this is against the law of this country; you don’t have to do things like that. We warned them that what you are doing is against the law of this country, and all of a sudden they started insulting the convoy and the next thing we heard was an explosion from their side. Of course, the Nigerian Army will respond appropriately within the rules of engagement for such situations and we did that, and with that we were able to clear the road."

In order to give credence to his account about what transpired, he stated that NTA and AIT crew were also on the convoy that they were able to record the happenings of what transpired live, stressing that he hoped both NTA and AIT would tell the people exactly what happened.

Continuing, Nicholas noted: "If you have a programme, will they have to infringe on the rights of other people? Will they have to block a federal government road? There was attempt on the lives of very senior people in the Nigerian Army. I don't want to mention names, but there was an attempt and they fired at the convoy of the Chief of Army Staff, and the life of everybody there is important. If you fire at any soldier on that convoy, or any of the media guys, then you are in trouble. Why should somebody take arm against an institution like Nigerian Army in this time? That was uncalled for. Whatever the sect’s spokesman is saying is not honest."

He revealed that they had to come down and negotiated with the sect to allow the convoy to pass but they refused. He however explained that there was no serious damage on any vehicle of the convoy as most of them were armoured.

The army chieftain said, "Considering that lives were lost, that is a barest minimum damage, because the other man firing had machine gun and other weapons, and the only way to take him down is the barest minimum force that we applied. If the army had responded with a heavy force, we would have seen more causalities, more damages done, but what we applied is the barest minimum force to bring the situation under control."

What you wrote has some truth but Imo State has by far the highest number of graduates in Nigeria. For the past 30years nearly 10% of yearly graduate output has been from Imo State. Make your enquiries and add that to your knowledge of Nigeria.

There is something called divorce

Do if your sister or daughter turns to be h.oe, which I am sure that they are. They are better off dead than alive because they are flirts or ho.es.cheesy

Sound smart
I don't have a sister or daughter. so can you see your life now? Maybe if your dad had pummeled your mum into pulp on time she won't go outside to bring a bastard like you home for your dad to train on charity. One thing stands. I pity your dad! poor man

one sided story. He's the most wicked and violent man you have ever known. What will the man describe you with? Maybe a flirt and hoe I married as a wife. If you actually cheated on the man then you got what you deserve. That Mr A didn't beat his wife to pulp for cheating doesn't mean Mr B won't. Who cares! Enough of all this laws empowering women to misbehave. Inasmuch as I won't encourage such and can't do it doesn't mean someone else won't and to me it does not make it wrong or right either. Bottom line is there is a reason she was beaten that bad letz hear from the man too.

viickerz:
That bush baby is called Sigidi in yoruba land.
Legend has it that, the sigidi has a mat that it carries around, this mat is belived to have mystical powers, It is also belived that anybody that steals the mat from the sigidi will have to endure the crying. This means that the sigidiwill stay by the window side of the person every night, crying and begging the person to return its mat.. If such a person can endure the crying for some weeks, the sigidi will leave the person.. Afterwards, such a person will get stinkingly rich.

There are plenty of other yoruba myths, i will be back with more.

*modified*

There are also allegations of Bush rats having mystical powers. Bush rats are called okete (im not sure if i got the spelling).

There has been different stories of Bush Ratshaving the ability to turn into human beings on market days and go to the market and buy food..

There are also some hunters that have allegedly seen these bush rats in the jungle at night, walking with their two hind legs and carrying stuffs like yams, fruits, etc on their heads and walking like human beings.
Now, i can attest to this coz, i once went hunting with my friends in my village before and when we were trying to fish a bush rat
out of its hole, we found ingridents like maggi, onion e.t.c inside its hole.. (we ran for our lives grin )

My dad also told me once that if you wash a mortar, and you use the water from it to wash your face, then proceed to any market spuare, you will have the ability to see ghosts and different demons in form of human beings that come and buy food..(i have not tried this oo)
Egbere not sigidi
