Business / Business Is Everywhere And In Everything by DonTobyM(m): 6:01pm On Nov 10, 2021 |
So, yesterday hustle carried me into the market and right there, rice was being undressed, rebranded and redressed. What do I mean by that? A man has a destoner machine and rice polishing machine. He does not own a rice farm, and neither does he cultivate one. His part In the business is that he waits for you to bring that Abakaliki rice that is looking dull, dirty and full of sand. He puts the rice in the first machine where all the chaff and stones that made it look dull and dirty is first removed. After that, he then proceed to running the rice through the polisher to make it shine. After the polishing, your rice will come out looking neat and clean. You know quite well that in the ’90s we never had Nigerian rice that is stone-free. But presently, eating Nigerian rice with stone or sand is a choice. The labour has been divided. Modern machines have made that easy. So for you who is asking me for a side hustle, this is one. You don't have to own a rice farm to be functioning and relevant in the rice processing industry. You can save money over time from your salary to buy such machines. You don't even have to operate the machines yourself. You can employ someone to do that for you. I hope you now understand. Sometimes, the only thing to raise a good business idea is by stepping out of your house to business areas/markets. Find out what is on demand. Find out what is not being done well. If you can bring about a better way of doing it, you will be the next sorted after person. A lot of rewards come with solving societal problems. Business is everywhere and in everything. Just open your mind and see. — Written by Nonso Francis 2 Likes

Research has shown that unless a good quality pellet is produced, little if any benefit will be derived from pelleting. |
Agriculture / 15 Advantages Of Pellet Feed Over Mash Feed In Poultry Farming by DonTobyM(m): 9:35pm On Nov 08, 2021 |
Pellet system of feeding is a modification of the mash system. It includes steam-injection (moisture and heat) and mechanically pressing the mash into hard dry pellets or “artificial grains”, for easy feeding of the poultry birds with a ‘balanced meal’. The following are advantages pellet meal has over mash in poultry farming: 1. Decreased feed wastage. 2. Reduced selective feeding. 3. Shorter feeding time, thereby conserving energy of the poultry birds. 4. Increased feed density. 5. Pellet feeds are already in a semi-digested form. 6. Low maintenance energy requirement for feeding & digestion 7. Destruction of deleterious feed-borne pathogens. 8. Feed dust & disease control. 9. Improved palatability. 10. Improved feed intake. 11. Each mouthful of pellet provides a well-balanced diet for poultry birds. 12. Improved bulk density & feed efficiency. 13. Increased weight gain & growth rate of the birds. 14. Improved feed conversion rate. 15. Improved overall poultry birds’ performance.

Investment / Your ₦1,000,000 Today Will Be ₦200,000 In 2025! by DonTobyM(m): 4:14pm On Nov 04, 2021 |
There are opportunities in the agricultural processing business, you just might not have looked that way before now. For instance, Nigeria is presently the largest cassava producing country in the world. This makes the garri processing business to be one of the most lucrative businesses in Nigeria today. Another example is Rice. The present local supply of rice can't meet the daily rice need of the growing Nigerian population. That's another opportunity you can tap into; rice processing business. That's not all, I can go on and on. Technology has come to stay. Mechanized farming is one of the ways to go in present day. Most of the dirty & stressful activities we run away from in farming can now be done by machines. Now we have machine that produce from its seeds, machine that peel cassava, machine that produce vegetable oil from its seeds, machine that fry garri and so on. Research on mechanized farming today. Farming is inherent in our history. Why do we all run from the best occupation in the whole world! Take time to think this through. Another advice. Don't keep all your monies in the bank. In the next few years your ₦1,000,000 today might has devalued to ₦200,000. The purchasing power of the Naira over the years is nothing to write home about. This might be just what you needed to read today. Please, make a wise choice. Take time to think this through, once again. Invest! Invest!! Invest!!!.. & do so wisely. Thank you. 2 Likes

Business / 6 Secrets To Success In Any Business.. (take Note Of #4) by DonTobyM(m): 6:30pm On Nov 01, 2021 |
1. Give your market what they're craving for Do your research thoroughly. Your business will boom rapidly if you're providing the meal that the starving market is craving for. It will be very easier that way. Passion alone won't be enough. So, what do people want in your market? Then, sell it to them! What nagging problem in your vicinity will your business solve? In these present days, solving societal problems come with a lot of rewards. The bigger the problem you solve, the more you'll be compensated. So, you have to think deep about your business. Even if it is a very common business or profession, how can you improve your own method to make it better? Are you ready to give the market what they're craving for? 2. Choose a niche that will still be relevant in a long time What is the present and projected (future) market demand for your product/services? It's the rule of thumb that a high-demand business is likely to be more successful than a low-demand one. Also, ask yourself how relevant your products/services will be in the next few years. 3. Be ready to sacrifice for the growth of your business Success always comes at a price. At times you'll need to make sacrifices for the growth of your business, be it paying for publicity, miscellaneous items, placing ads etc. Are you ready to do that? You just have to be. 4. Learn the act of selling This is very important. As an entrepreneur, a professional or business owner, your number one responsibility is to sell. The money in any legit business today isn’t in the product/service you offer/render, it’s in the selling of that product or service. The fate of your business lies not just in having the best product or service, but in your ability to market your products or services to the public. In other words, we are all in the business of selling! The mistake many people make when starting a business is that they wanted to do a business without defining their market and how to sell to them. Ask yourself.. can you sell the business you're venturing into to the waiting market out there? What marketing strategies will you use? Are you even ready to learn how to sell? 5. Prepare yourself for the competition There's hardly any new innovation or idea in these present days. That business you wanted to do, that profession you are into, someone somewhere else or even in your vicinity is already into it. So, brace yourself up for the competition. Business is not just about being passionate about it. You need willpower to forge along through the thick and thin of every business. Even when the odds aren't in your favor, your willpower will keep you in business. Are you mentally ready for the competition? If the competition seems overwhelming, what are your plans to beat it? 6. Find a good location for your business Location of a business is also very important. There are some businesses that you'll need to set up in a school environment to thrive, some business will only do well in big cities and so on. Therefore, you need to brainstorm on the best place to position your business to maximize sales and profit. . . . Add your own to the list.

For a standard garri line, you might need an additional machine in conjunction with the ones mentioned above. However, this machine is optional because another well-known cheaper machine can be used to improvise its work. What is this very last machine? Why is it not so important? These and more will be discussed in the next post. STAY TUNED. |

5. FRYER: — This is a stainless steel frying oven capable of frying up to 1 ton of garri in a single day. — It is well insulated, so you're free from burns and other health hazards associated with the manual (traditional) garri frying. — An electric source will drive the rotating hands of fryer while charcoal, firewood, etc will be used as heat source for the fryer. — It is smoke-free as every smoke generated from the frying process will be conveyed out of the work area with the help of a chimney that'll be installed with it.

4. SIFTER: — This machine sieves the garri using advanced vibration technique. — You just have to pour the dewatered flakes in batches and the machine will do the work for you. —The garri particles will pass through the sieve, and all other inedible components will be left on the sifter. — The sifter prepares the garri for frying.

Unigrad: Like many persons have mostly suggested earlier, the food industry sector is booming and you should take advantage of that. Also, animal feed production is a good one for that starting capital range. You can get a small Hammermill and start milling poultry feeds. Employ few persons that'll do the work for you. Woila! You already have a good side hustle you can boast of. |
Investment / Re: How Can I Invest ₦1 Million? by DonTobyM(m): 4:40pm On Oct 22, 2021 |
myike2: Why don't you invest in mechanized Garri processing business & let your family members manage it for you? That business line is very profitable right now, especially when you do it large scale. Cuz you make profit per tonne of garri your factory produces. That can even run well over the 400k/month profit you were suggesting. |

What are the machines you'll need for the Garri processing business? |
Agriculture / Re: The Opportunities In The Garri Processing Industry by DonTobyM(m): 1:57pm On Oct 22, 2021 |
3. Factory space: A plot of land or two is okay for one factory line. You will need more space when you expand to 3 factory lines and above. A good drainage system is required in a Garri business too because garri processing gives away a lot of water waste. The factory structure will be divided into two: — WET SECTION: This is where the machines used for activities involving water will be positioned e.g the cassava peeler, grater, dewatering machine & the fermentation rack. — DRY SECTION: The machines operating dry are positioned here e.g the fryer, the sifter and the hammermill. Packaging and storing of the processed garri will also be done at this section. |
Agriculture / Re: The Opportunities In The Garri Processing Industry by DonTobyM(m): 1:49pm On Oct 22, 2021 |
2. Starting Capital: For a complete mechanized Garri factory line, you'll need a starting capital of about 4 to 5 million naira. For mini start up (using the traditional method, basically), less than 1 million will do. |
