funnyDM:

I will give you a simple advice. If you take it seriously, you will build wealth quickly. If you play with it, you have yourself to blame.

I will delete this post after 2 hours because it is a great secret, given to me by a good friend.

This friend of mine is an Igbo business man, a graduate too. Shout out to all Igbos! May our heads never run dry with business ideas! Iseeeee!!

Now, what is this advice?

YOU CAN NEVER BUILD WEALTH WORKING FOR SOMEONE!!

That's it!! Have this mentality and you will start growing in wealth.

So, how do you build wealth?.

By creating your own product. Now, you may ask, how do I know what product to create?

Any product based on regulation will always sell and bring money into your pocket.

What are these regulations?
1) Hunger
2) Climate or weather conditions
3) government policies
4) current trends in the society
5) hmmm... let me stop here. No much talk abeg

So, how do you make money with all these?

1) Don't save your naira in a bank. Thats useless to me. Instead;
2) with every penny you earn, create or cheaply buy a product (based on regulation). Keep re-investing in the purchase or creation of this product for atleast 6 MONTHS.

3) Make sure it has become so massive that you practically wants to dispose them for sales.

4) Wait until its regulation has come into full force. Then aggressively market the products.

5) What else should I do? When you make huge sales. DO NOT SPEND WASTEFULLY!! DO NOT DELAY!! QUICK! QUICK!! Re-invest back into the business!!

That's it. That's how most successful igbo business men run their businesses.

3 KEY SECRETS IN BUSINESS:

1) Have more than one source of income.

2) Drastically minimize expenses.

3) Quickly and consistently re-invest into your business.

Finally,

When there is high inflation and financial hardship in the country, what do I do to stay afloat the inflation?

The only TWO WAYS to stay afloat the inflation is:

1) guy I dey talk too much ooh
2) **secret...secret**

Take those advices and watch your life change.

Remember, Those who desire to create wealth do not work for others, they create their own product.

.... To be deleted soonest!!

@bolded,
Quoted to keep the post for others that may want to read it in case you delete it.
Though personally I think it's just a load of bullshit and motivational hot air being blown, rather than practical ideas.
But still, keeping it here in case someone finds it useful.
Though I doubt.

Okay..

What pc specification will you suggest?

It's part of what you'll learn as you proceed.
You can start with what you have, since you already have a laptop, then when software are recommended in the course of your learning that require specs higher than your laptop, you can then consider upgrading your laptop or upgrading individual components.
Bottom line is to start learning it ASAP, so you don't allow getting a better laptop to delay you.

Thanks so much bro

How can I go about the learning please
Youtube, for free.
Skillshare, for courses you can learn with a cheap paid subscription.
You can check out Ali Abdaal's video editing course on Skillshare. And I think the first month or first 2 weeks is a free trial, so if you're fast, you might be able to learn it for free in that free trial period.

Hello Nairalanders,

Please I need your advice. I've been looking at the trend of things and with what I've seen so far in terms of getting relevant digital skills, wordpress website design and video editing are what seems to resonate with me.

So please in terms of present and future relevance which of this can I go for? Or are there any other skills along this line that I can go for?

Oh yeah I have a pc of 4gb RAM, and can get a better one if need be.

Thanks.

Go for Video editing.
Don't even think about it.
Business / Re: How To Make Payment Online After The Close Of Flutterwave Barter by DonX001: 8:25pm On Jul 29, 2022

Good day guys.I do business online that involves me making payment online very often.I started using access bank visa card but they eventually stopped it for online payment.i moved over to barter virtual card, used it for sometime but it has finally stopped too. Please guys how do you make online payments now. What card or process do you use.i would really appreciate it.

Go to bank and get a dollar card.
GTB offers a dollar mastercard or Visa card, just got mine though I haven't used it yet, and I think most banks do.
For some of them, you'll need to open a domiciliary account to get the card, like GTB. And then you'll fund the card from your dom account, as they link the account to the card.

But I think some other banks may not require a dom account. Like UBA used to have UBA Africard that didn't require you to have a dom account, you simply fund it with dollars across the counter. But I don't know if they still have it. You can go into a UBA bank and ask.
I guess a few other banks may have similar products that do not require having a domiciliary account to get a dollar card.

Just pop into a few banks and make enquiries for their dollar card options, I've given you a few examples above.

So things are going okay still. We've raised over $1 million now. We have a team of 55 people and we have surpassed last year's revenue of $350k already this year. The economic slowdown is slowing our growth but we're still excited about what we're building and the difference we're able to make.

Whatever you do as an entrepreneur, never give up. Your dreams are valid.

Wow, I'm really happy for you.
More wind to your sails.
Your toughness and persistence over the years is paying off, and hopefully will continue to pay off even more in future.
Don't stop updating here pls. You'll always have readers and continue to inspire people, and show what's possible with persistence and doggedness.
I wish you and your company a billion dollar valuation sometime in the future.
Cheers to a great future ahead.

If you read carefully you may have noticed where I mentioned that anything originating from Nigeria is not accepted on wise. It has to be offshore.

You can try flutterwave batar card though that is a long route, but any card issued by a Nigerian bank will not work on wise

How do you withdraw your money from Wise as a Nigerian living in Nigeria?
What are the options to get money paid into your Wise account, into your hands in Nigeria?
Cos I believe since they banned transactions to Nigeria, you can't withdraw to any Nigerian bank, whether with a regular bank account or a domiciliary account.
So how do you get your money out of Wise?

Please, I made a research and got a domain name with a convincing SV and CPC on ED.

However, the one with an upside arrangement has a better SV and CPC than the other.
Example,

LagosBreadSeller = SV 20 CPC $2.9
WHILE
BreadSellerLagos = SV 260 CPC $11.77

I used other tools and got almost the same figure.

Please do note the Lagos bread seller isn't the domain name.

I'm a Newbie and this will be my 1st domain if it passes my 'test'.
Both are available.
Which should I go for please?
Thanks.

If you have to pick only one name out of the two due to money constraints like you said, then go with the second one. It's clearly the better name if your stats are accurate.

PiperPP:

Yeah for Phones, just slot the sim card into your phone, download the app, insert your login details. That's all

For Laptop just power the laptop with the sim card via a modem or mifi.

For TV, you will need a Pipul TV set top box. Which you can use to connect to your TV via HDMI.

Ok, thanks for the clarification.
So for TV, how much does the Pipul TV set top box cost? And is that cost a one-time fee or there are recurring payments for the box in addition to the regular monthly sim card subscription.
(Just asking to be clear as I cannot assume anything.)

Also does the Tv box work with all mainstream brands of TV (LG, Samsung, Sony, etc) as long as it has a HDMI port, or there are specific brands and models of TV it works with.

MTN Pipul TV Data-free SIM Card Available in all agent outlet nationwide.

Contact me via my signature for yours.
#500 only
So how exactly is this used?
You've basically just being saying come and get some without describing how it's used after the sim is gotten.
For phones, is it just slot the sim card into phones and download the app and that's all?
What of for TVs, how is it used on TVs? Cos I'm not aware you can slot sim cards into most TVs. Or is it just for use on mobile phones and tablets alone?

Lol, this is just it! You got it 100%.

Most times, the guy that was forming friendly will just keep quiet and start selling fuel....no more fake friendliness, lol.

God bless you my dear brother Don.
Well actually it is still running but I passed through a lot of challenges starting from NEPA down to subscription also to landlord issuing a notice that I should relocate from his land etc. I spent roughly 600k to put up structures alone not to talk of other things involved.
However, I decided to up my game a bit as 100 naira matches was no longer feasible for profitability.

I decided to add sport bet and also PlayStation games. After that I called in one guy to be selling fish pepper soup which then increased the popularity and patronage. My brother, my eye see shege.

In all we thank God as consistency is the key.

Wow! Congrats for keeping it running this long, that's no mean feat.

I can imagine all the challenges you've been through, e no easy o!

Great you were able to diversify to include other things, that's good thinking.

Well done and wish you all the best as you proceed.

One thing I want us to know is that, it is a gradual process and not something to rush. Like me I decided to use wooden benches instead of plastic chairs. It is safer to use benches than plastic chairs because fans might get excited and smash chairs on themselves. Other things I intend adding is a pepper soup joint and popcorn for fans as these are also side attractions.
Let us take a step of faith and do something today and forget about the Government doing something for us, as we need to take the bulls by the horn.
I showed free matches for two weeks but collected the first match fee (N100) on the match between Nigeria and Cameroon which ended in a draw.

Hi Aycorporat, great job on taking a bold step and documenting your steps along the way.
Was an interesting read.

Any current update on this?
Is it still running, or was it swallowed up by the vicissitudes of running a business in Nigeria.

And have you been able to recoup your initial investments?
I've always been a bit skeptical about the profitability of running a viewing centre, I just think it's difficult to get the numbers to work out except in rare cases.

Cos I estimate you must have put in at least 400k to set this up from your posts.
And I'm wondering, if you're charging N100 per person, how many people will come to watch in a day, and how long it will take to recover your initial investment, ......since you probably won't show matches everyday but only on match days.

And especially as you'll still be paying staff and paying for maintenance and other running costs like NEPA and generator.
Plus other expenses like settling police or area people or any other potential taxers.
And still keeping an eye to ensure your employees don't steal from you which is very likely (wonder how you can even prevent this).

So it seems to me that it will be difficult to get the numbers to work out towards profitability.

What has been your experience in these 3 years+ of running the place?
If still running, is it profitable and how are you managing to keep it so given the above?
If closed down, what led to its closing down and what are your lessons from it?

Either way, I think there's a lot to be learnt from your experience.

Thanks.

How can you "gawk" yourself like that??
You're even considering it!
No even think am!!

That's the oldest scam in the book, even if the account is verified and as old as Methuselah with 5,000 5 star reviews, no think am at all!
People can build accounts up and then use it to scam people because they've gathered credibility, happens everywhere. They just message a lot of freelancers with the same message, pack plenty money from the gullible ones, and disappear.

If you go dull yourself, your money flies through the window.
Report the account with evidence to the freelancer platform admin.
I'm surprised people still fall for this in this day and time.
Or are even considering falling for it. Imagine!
