Omoapena: Wait, fuel price has truly gone up to 998/l? This price na just official NNPC price o. So the rest fuel stations will definitely be over 1000/l |

Omoapena: Very possible, you can make 80k with 20k fuel in a day and go home with 40k, so paying your partner 50k from 40k daily profit shouldn't be hard... Is this really possible with 1k/L fuel |

Omoapena: Same here, I will rather wait 2 to 3 hours than accepting those ridiculous trip.
Someone once told me that those drivers will accept it and when they get to destination, they start telling rider to pay a certain amount, when I heard, I'm like some people can be studio sha... The few times I tried to renegotiate, riders ask me why did I pick the trip if the price is not okay. I was speechless |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Doris4ever(m): 5:38pm On Sep 24, 2024 |
Omoapena: I don't want to believe they are picking them up and driving to the rider to renegotiate, and if they are renegotiating on the app, I don't think that will work either.
I can't even stress myself to accept only to start renegotiating, I see those indrive riders as broke people looking for cheap fare. You are right. Still trying to wrap my head on how those drivers are coping with those prices. I prefer waiting longer to get a good trip than picking nonsense price. |

Omoapena: Wait, so this riders are actually hoping someone will pick this trips... The prices on Indrive are ridiculously cheap, drivers are picking them up like that probably renegotiating. Personally, still trying to master the act of renegotiating though. |

Nelochukwu: Na lie oo. 1hr plus can't be 30mins but I get ur drift and besides 90percent or more the estimated time becomes the actual time when consummated. From my driving experience in Lagos. The estimated time is always accurate. If there's no standstill traffic. You will definitely arrive at the estimated time. If the traffic is heavy, the arrival time will increase. But I have NEVER seen it reduced by 30mins as he said above. Sundays for example, the estimated time is 100% accurate because roads are very free. |

Sirianese: The duration is estimated, it's not set in stone; you can pick a 1hr 22min trip and end up spending 30 minutes. There's an element of chance embedded in there and that's what those dudes picking such trips are using to make money. How? A 1hr 22min trip and end up spending 30mins? Is this an exaggeration or you are just playing. |

President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will fix it. The road been expanded is Idiroko road leading to Canaanland winners chapel. It's a different road entirely from Lagos Abeokuta Expressway. |

Also, how sure are you that the car don't have any other underlying problem. Unless you are ready to buy , then spend some money to fix up any repair that comes up. |

Morningstarrr: Good morning bosses and chairmen. I'm using a Peugeot 307. I discovered that the car doesn't hold power in some areas like gnition and central lock. That is, when the vehicle is parked for like 5mims, power will no longer be available on dashboard and doors. But there'll be power in other parts of the vehicle. What could be the cause Is electrical issue. Let a good rewire check the fuse bus lines Then check for any burned wire(s) I had similar experience with a Corolla. Sometimes if I park, the dashboard ligh won't come up again until I open fuse box and do some touching. There was a day I drove to a mechanic, parked. Car refused to start. Had to call my rewire, thank God I was still within my area. The rewire came, traced everything and discovered burnt wires underneath the fuse box. He carefully fix everything and car started immediately. |

northbird: Very true, you are right on the aspects of challenges....But an investment of 3.5 million that will yield returns of unstable 30k weekly .. is not something I will subscribe to. Just as many investors has proposed. Rental may no longer be visible due to the economic situation of the country. But HP (Higher Purchase) is still a better option. Though ehailing is not the only business to invest in. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Doris4ever(m): 2:00pm On May 24, 2024 |
northbird: It's easier said than done. Right now , 2024. To meet market realities. Weekly rentals should be around 50-60k. How many drivers can gladly sign this . ? Most of them want something way lower. So the investor still bears the brunt. As I said earlier. I don't think ehailing is the only business that that yield returns to an investor. There are several businesses such as: Fish Farming Piggery Crop Farming Poultry Animal husbandry Korope LT Buses Sienna for inter state and several other businesses that people are already doing and they are been successful in it. Though some people go into any of this businesses and still fail. If an investor is tired of ehailing, he can deinvest and venture into any other business of choice. Those who still think ehailing is profitable and they can cope with the challenges should be encouraged to do the business. What I know is that all the above businesses I listed have one challenge or the other. Some people have managed those businesses for years and still in business while some have failed and closed down. That's business for you. Though no one is praying to fail. But the reality is that people do fail in some businesses. |

konkoabove: Are banks also at the lower end? Yes or No.
Back to ehailng, The mere fact that cars are scarce doesn't equate flexing of muscle from owner partners. For goodness sake, both of you are business partners and not employee/employer situation, so respect agreement. If there is need for upward review, then adequately communicate and sign the new deal. Putting eye in your driver partners' earnings is a NO for me.
Owner partners can liquidate asset and move to something else. So drivers too can't diversify and shift from ehailng? Is their destiny tied to driving? I think drivers need to wake up and smell the coffee. I said something similar some days ago that if drivers don't get cars to drive. They won't die. Before ehailing became a thing, everyone was surviving. If government decides to ban ehailing, won't everybody move to something else? When owners make agreement of 40k weekly and maybe share repair cost. Owner will still be putting eyes on drivers income to see if driver is making more than him |
