A lot got me thinking lately that "is it even still possible to achieve your dreams in Nigeria "

First of all, I am a brilliant Computer Science graduate with a 2.1 obtained at UNILORIN. I used to have this notion that once you study hard and serve God, things will go well for you. I had big dreams and aspirations in the IT world much like every young and dedicated graduate.

Am sorry to say that's not the case in Nigeria, after service I struggled to get a job or survive till I was able to find a 40k/month sec school teaching job teaching Computer . I was elated as it could help me pay my bills till I find something else.

The problem now is I'm the firstborn with responsibilities... I can barely pay my own bills talkless of helping someone. Am starting to get redundant as I can barely practice my skills in my present workspace. Am in Church and the Pastor is telling us that God will open a breakthrough in his appointed time... but I doubt it, are people still making it without Money, family connections and bribe? Can it still happen?

Some of us tried so hard not to use our skills and technical know how for YAHOO...yet our G-friends are busy buying cars... I don't even bother to go for reunion events again... It's just oppression on my already fragile ego.

Pls just share your breakthrough stories... I believe it can help young folks like me and others because I'm about giving up. It's so hard.

Hello Sire/Mam

Am currently looking for job in IT companies, I finished my service year last Febuary (2021), but I have searched through LinkedIn and jobberman just to get s job but all to no avail.

Am versed in Python and Java programming and good in 2 Main front-end programming Language as well (CSS and Javascript) and also HTML(Hypertext Markup Language).

I need where I can practice my profession just to gain an idea about all it all functions together especially the back-end programming.
I will take any amount as long as am equipped well with the Idea in a company.

I wish Somone can help me out on this platform,

What about not liking your job......as a teacher, I resigned last year December, I don't have another job yet....I feel so sad each time I come to school, as if I don't belong there....... again, the salary is never enough to take care of my self, let alone saving or giving someone..... Though, I quickly learn how to do poultry feeds( no money to start it yet)......so I ask, is it proper to quit a job u don't like without having another yet?

The tower of Babel was destroyed by God, and he confused humans with different languages because they wanted to build a tower that will reach up to the sky, that way they would be able to see him "God".

But God didn't want this to happen, hence which led to the destruction of the tower.

But today we have a 3,000 foot tall building standing in Dubai (Burj khalifa).

Today, we have rockets going to space.

Today we have jets, aeroplanes and more flying thousands of feet's above the ground but God didn't destroy them.

Tell me what happened bro, I need good explanations cos a brother is about to become an atheist.

Is God now afraid of humans?

I feel so sorry for people living in Nigeria. Not only are there no jobs/opportunities, social safety net is non-existent.

Why misquoting me?

I have explained from what I know, you have written your opinion, so, why mixing it together?

It is not a do or die affair.

Let's take things easy.

It is a Righteous thing for GOD to recompense Tribulation to those that Trouble His Children.

GOD ALMIGHTY is Loving, Merciful and Kind. HE does not take joy in the death of a Sinner. Rather His will is that Everyone should be Saved.

Having Said that , HE is also a GOD of Judgement. He does not take it lightly when people Confidently and Stubborny continue to trouble his Children.

So many People Have been taken away for Standing in the way of his Children.
So many people have been sacked and reduced to nothing for standing in the way of His Children.
I am a Living testimony to Events like that.

Some could even come to confess and beg you after they are dealt with.

It's very risky to Stand in the way of a Genuie child of GOD. You will end up being being Crushed , Dismantled, Discombobulated and sent to the grave beyond.

His Testimony is very well in place.

Pharmacy

It is difficult to know if by lucrative you mean the profession that brings in good salary on the average. And if you also factor in the ease of getting a job postgraduation. Between Pharmacy and Architecture cited by you, Pharmacy is clearly the better choice here. But you also need to consider the possibility of you getting an admission to study pharmacy being a very highly competitive course to study at the moment. It is also not so easy to study Pharmacy, it's a course tough as a nail.

Now if you consider the prospects looking at the business dimension; averagely Pharmacy is still supremely better than Architecture in Nigeria.

However, before you make a final choice between the two I will encourage you to interact with practicing pharmacists from different areas of their practice, and practicing architects. Feel free to ask questions, you are about making a life-long decision and there are simply no questions too stupid to ask.

I wish you good luck, and if you eventually choose to study pharmacy and you successfully do so, I am going to be glad to welcome you to the honorable club.

Now, whichever you eventually choose between the two make sure you develop an IT skill. I will recommend Python programming. IT is both the currency of the present and of the foreseeable future. I am into programming too and the money I have made from working in IT-like area is more than 10 to 50 times the total amount I have made from traditional practice as a pharmacist.
