@OP, you'll get paid if you give the right notice. But your payment would likely be prorated to reflect how many days you worked in the pay period.

Forget the salary and stop going to work, or draft a new resignation letter with a 3-month notice & wait for 3 months to leave. Only a company that's so bad it knows it'll struggle to get employees will demand a 3-month resignation notice.

Unless you just wanna forfiet your pay, forget whatever notice period written on your employment letter. I have given a day, 2 weeks and a month notice before. I won't give any employer more than 30 days notice unless the job I'm transitioning to gives me up to 3 months to resume. Some do depending on the role you're entering.

In Nigeria, notice period is one day if you're under probation or worked for a period of three months or less; one week for more than three months but less than two years of service; two weeks for two to five years [/b]of service and [b]one month for five or more years.

However, you might lose some employment benefits if you don't give the required notice in your contract. You employer is obligated to pay anything owed and salary for the period worked till your effective termination date.

Just continue to add value to yourself, that way your prospects for job placement increases. People who do find it difficult landing jobs most often than not are those without experience (freshers) in the field. Once you continue to grow in experience, you can easily switch jobs without lingering delay.

3months it depends on the place It could 2 in some places. The mistake you made is that you should have waited till 15 for your salary . Following day yiu submit your resgnatiion lletter. You may have to fotgo the 15 days you have spent in the new month.

I bleeped up big time, I have been sad over this , I enquired from my former colleague that resigned few months ago, he told his was 2 weeks notice , and was paid , I rush go submit mine with two weeks notice as well, this morning my mind know say I get signed agreement, speaking with the HR this morning, she assured me for sept salary

HR don't need to approve your resignation once you have
done the needful.

Ensure you have your resignation copies and date the HR received it.

Ask HR directly for the company's policy regarding your situation. Don't depend on only hearsay from your colleagues unless they're well informed about the situation, but still, confirm from HR, don't wait and hope to find out

It all depends on risk factor.
You quit - some companies will escort you out with security and send you your last pay by mail.
Usually 2 weeks - the norm.
Extreme - you wait till they find a replacement but this is usually discussed in detail.

At least 3 months in sane world. In schools, maybe a month.
But in Nigeria and especially private schools or organisations that sack at will, you too resign anyhow. Infact, you can stab them by resigning immediately after collecting salary.

Why do I sound harsh?
Cos those organisations/schools are so harsh in sacking staff. I v seen schools that sacked teachers immediately without pay and it was at the end of the month when it wasn't recorded that the tutor stole.
And I v seen Chinese and Lebanese companies sacking people anyhow.
So...in Nigeria, it's jungle justice.

Honestly, I made a very big mistake, I was carried away, my colleague that resigned few months ago

I did same without waiting to give them jungle justice
