How high was your BP reading?? If high as said you should have your Dr check for any sign of protein in your urine or go for the Glucose tolerance test. Rest well...stay off fones, computers, tv, et al, n rest well. If the ringing/pounding, headache continues, hopefully not, go see your Dr immediately.

Just FYI, as it's not our portion in Jesus name, Amen. Watch out for signs of Pre-E:
Severe headache
Swelling
Rapid weight gain
Reduced urine output
Vision changes-this cld be like the back of your eyes ache or blurred for a sec
Dizziness

Like I said not our portion, but just cautionary.

Pls be very careful with OTC cough medications...so many contain many substances some of which might be harmful to a preggie. It's best to avoid cough meds especially in early pregnancy n if u have to take later, keep to the barest minimum. So my candid opinion is stay away from it n if u can't see your Dr b4 taking anything.
In early pregnancy, it could affect the abdominal wall of the foetus. But you are in 3rd Tri already, right??

The fish firsttymum is talking about is SARDINE...yes it is very rich in calcium, omega3 n vit D-needed for absorption as said by pp. Canned salmon with bones is also a good source of calcium. You have to try your best possible to consume natural calcium as much as you can cos it not only helps with healthy bones but also helps to regulate BP n prevent type 2 diabetes, wch is getting rampant in pregnancy now. Almonds are good too- though I dare not try that one!

Mamas, pls lets all be careful with wigs and weaves when we've had our LOs.
There are 2 many disadvantages -
- The hairs keep falling everywhere making the environment unsafe for babies
- if ingested by babies, they are sometimes poisonous(they come from different sources and go through several chemical processing)
- the strands could be very sharp (I have cut myself while pulling the hair many times)
- mothers with long weaves tend to cover the babies' faces without realizing it esp when we carry out LOs on our shoulders to belge
- when the hair gets dirty grow some dandruff, we scratch continuously and still go ahead to carry our LOs with the same hands.

Thanks for the advice, you made some good points. Truth be told wigs are safer than weaves n braids, IMO. Wigs are worn only wen u are going out...most ppl using wigs take it off when home. A good wig doesn't shed n u mostly comb it on its stand in the bathroom. You also get to wash both wigs n yo hair regularly unlike weaves n braids.
They all got disadvantages, it is all about being careful n hygienic. How often if at all do we was our braids?? Strands of the hair come off from the tips of braids too n now that is mega sharp. If we want no hair wahala at all, then one's natural hair is d way to go!
But honestly, thanks u made sense...cos now weaves, wigs or braids...am going to be more careful now...

I actually detest wigs but got no choice. My plan is to loose the hair piece a week b4 EDD, wash n matte, then do wig. Took 2 wigs: 1, very good human hair n closure was used to make it( will loose it from wig n continue fixing when back in 9ja), the 2nd one was made with chocolate hair. That way am totally covered...my hair is natural n don't want these "oyinbos" to ruin it.

Welcome to the club! I don't know how to do the whole eat small n frequently thingy...so am always in that state but taking it easy now as it's really affecting the way I feel- heavy n lethargic.
On the hair, I fixed original human hair the morning of the day I travelled then took wig with me. That way I jus remove the hair when fed up, matte my hair n wear wig- gbam!

Had an experience on Saturday, no appetite for anything in the house, mama put's food was the only thing I crave...DH took me to one in town and mehnnn I enjoyed the food (Vegetable soup & Eba) but like 10minutes later, I couldn't explain my restlessness, told DH I feel like vomiting which was unusual coz I never experienced MS throughout. I vomited all I ate including my drugs, yet the restlessness didn't end...Vomited like twice again and DH was fidgeting for us to go to the hospital but I stubbornly refused....Later felt good after drinking hot pepper soup but I still wonder what could have caused the whole vomiting saga. Anyone who can explain please??

The vomiting is probably due to the sweetness of the soup- mama put's food usually have no pepper at all n that could irritate your system or you probably ate too much too soon...pele dear.

@all, just a few days ago, I had no waddling whatsoever but since yesterday, my ligaments z gone so relaxed I now have a sharp pull in my upper left bum area. To walk now is Alleluia, to turn sides in bed is to 1st sit up n say a prayer...in all we thank God!

Please go see your doctor Asap. Little urine output isn't good especially if taking adequate amount of water. If not, pls up your water intake. Pls go n see your doctor for evaluation. In all God will surely win. All the best

In the spirit of giving back:
I already had my visa so no gist on that. Got into LA yesterday afternoon. Trip from lagos to LA was uneventful- my fit to fly was not even asked for though my bump wasn't really showing n a lot of people didn't know I was preggie.
Flew Emirates. Had a layover at Dubai for barely 30mins n used the wheelchair service.
Trip from Dubai to La was long but not tiring surprisingly. Got to La n used the wheelchair service thankfully cos a lot of flights arrived at same time. Was wheeled to the front with hubby close by.
Cbp officer was friendly and after pleasantries, asked for passports. Asked for our profession. Asked what we came to do in the States Mar/ April- Vacation. Asked why hubby has not filed for my British passport- wife not interested. So you are here on summer Vacation? Hubby said yes. He proceeded with finger printing n stamping us in. Then I said also childbirth as I just didn't want to risk him or someone else now noticing am pregnant. He then asked if I told the embassy n I just gave him my email correspondence with the embassy. Said good, and asked if I have contact with the provider I want to use n I said yes. He then said good that we will just be going into the inner room for his superiors to verify somethings from us n not to worry.
Inside the room, we were attended to on time. The officer asked when we would be leaving- told him. Asked for our return tickets n that was it...looked at it n said ok. He then appreciated my honesty, and wished me a safe delivery.
Baggage wasn't checked at all.
It was God all the wayyyyy...
Thanks to everyone, a safe porting to those yet to n safe delivery to us all...
