After doing some research on android phones and bla bla bla I've narrowed it down to:
HTC Sensation
(Great resolution, huge screen, DC processor, 8MP camera, recent OS & UI so no need to root)
(high price)

HTC Incredible S
(8MP cam, perfectly sized screen, reasonably priced I think)
(Ugly body, outdated OS & UI, resolution nt so good)

HTC Desire S
(Cheaper dan Incredible S, sleek unibody, better resolution)
(Smaller screen, old sense UI, 5MP cam)

Would've added the Motorola Atrix but its expensive and has features that I don't need so no.

My question is How much do the phones cost in nigeria if anyone here knows AND can I get OS and UI upgrades in nigeria without rooting the phone or wiping it?
I'm leaning on the incredible s if I can get upgrades and if it isn't much more expensive that the desire s AND on the sensation if the price is something I can pull off. So it mostly depends on d prices n possibility of upgrades.
Thanks in advance to d folks that actually read it. Yeah its really long, that NaughtyWoman!ld sense UI, 5MP cam)

Yeah its really long, that NaughtyWoman!
One Key thing for me when buying an android device is the ability to root.If you are a Power user(or hope to be one wink) , you will definitely need root access to your device. As for the 3 devices you listed, i will say go for the Desire S because you will get everything done on the device without paying the premium for the HTC Sensation and in due time will get root access.
As for the update issue, you will get updates as need be as long as you don't buy one that has been carrier locked to a specific network.

AS it stand now,if you want a Dual Core Phone go for the Samsung Galaxy SII.

hopeday:
@Double N

Pls where can I get DESIRE S. I having been using WILDFIRE with froyo 2.2 and need to upgrade to gingerbread 2.3 with bigger screen. Android rules!!!!!!
You can check DSCL on Adeola Odeku (Opposite Adenuga Towers). As at the last time i checked it was 70K.

Android definitely rules! wink

tollu:
Like Netostse and Ajanlekoko it sounds to me like pursuing a career is the way to go. If I were in your shoes, I'd definitely pick the career path.
Hands on experience over 'books' anytime. You must know, or have heard, about a number of people who spent hard earned money on so called foreign degrees and came back to lanu si ategun i.e no promising jobs.

If you weren't gainfully employed, I would have said yes go for the degree.
So stick with your career, if it's a correct place as you have implied, you would get to go on trainings and if your heart still yearns after the books, you could take a study leave after a couple of years (depending on your org) or look into distance learning.
Thanks for the advice.

netotse:
this depends on how old you are and what your definition of acceptable risk is. . . I would consider career growth, I'm wary about working in organisations where you are not part of the "core business" because when push comes to shove you aren't really vital for the company to survive although these days IT is becoming core to just about any industry.
I am in the later part of my twenties and not shy of taking risks. The Organisation in question is on the verge of hopping on the e-business train and sees IT as a key component needed to achieve its goals.
AjanleKoko:
It all depends on you.
I'd say experience is a lot more valuable than academics> I'd say defer for a year and get the work experience, then see how things go.
Are you degree qualified in IT? Why do you want to do an Msc? Just curious.
I am not degree qualified in IT,i read one of dem Biological sciences in school and had a year of training in one of those Indian run 'IT schools'. What makes me relevant is that i have managed to acquire some very important IT certifications (With Hand's on Knowledge). As for the Msc in IT, the reason i choose to proceed with it was in order to get some knowledge and exposure i might not get in my immediate environment. Also to shoot my self up the Pecking order. wink
WebmastersRe: Can Google+ Compete With Facebook by DoubleN(m): 10:48pm On Jul 02, 2011
Facebook has to be on top of their game in order for them not be overtaken by Google+. Google is using every resource at its disposal to make sure that this happens by integrating their core services into the suite. Imagine getting friend suggestions based on geo-location or having a Conference Chat? By leveraging on the Power of Google Maps,Gmail, and Youtube Facebook has their work cut out.

need a brand new good quality phone prefarably of the android stock. Which phone would u suggest i buy?
If you are fully loaded with cash, go for the Samsung Galaxy SII but if otherwise and you are on a budget go for the HTC Desire S.

I'm in a quagmire as regards my career at the moment. I have recently gotten admission to a school in Scotland to do my MSC in a very promising field in ICT and just yesterday got a Job Offer from one of the foremost insurance firms in the country(In their IT department). Quickly pounced on the offer cos i have been out of sorts in my current place and the benefits are very good though the pay could be better. Kinda confused on whether to just defer the admission indefinitely till further notice or plunge into the deep and head out for the MSC. huh. What do you think guys?

What do u think abt the Dell Streak compared to Desire HD??
Dell Streak? shocked shocked shocked Please run far from it! It has been termed a monumental failure by critics. http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/31/dell-streak-7-review/ Engadget Rates it 4/10! Better go for the Desire HD instead.

Go for the HTC Desire S, packs everything you will need.
fanistic:
i actually own a htc desire and was thinking of upgrading to the sensation but the death grip issue simply ruled that out for me, also to hear the sgs2 heats up pretty well. when would we get that perfect phone with all the exorbitant price tag without the so called flaws? in my opinion the desire rocks and when a get a phone that is stable i'd jump wagon.
There will never be a time when there will be a 'perfect phone'.The best bet is to get what works for you,Period!
