karl max: commenced moves to seek a court order to stop the independent National Electoral Commission from fielding any candidate under the APC Acronym in the Anambra state governorship election.

Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja, the national chairman of the party, [size=20pt]Chief Onyinye Ikeagwuonu[/size] explained that there is an on-going litigation over the acronym, which the party instituted to challenge the registration of the All Progressives Congress.

Chief Ikeawguonu wants only the APC Acronym to be featured on the ballot paper so that any of the parties that wins in court will inherit the mandate if the APC wins the Anambra governorship election.

6. A crime was committed by Lagos State government against the citizens of Nigeria.

If you support the deportation of persons in the middle of the night many of whom are not from Anambra State, leaving them to their own fate, then I put a curse on you. More than 113 destitute people have been cleared from the streets of Port Harcourt metropolis following raids by a Special Committee on Raiding of Vagrants, Lunatics and Street Beggars in the Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation.
Chairman of the committee, Mr Mina Jamabo, gave details of their activities in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, stressing that the ministry has worked out measures to ensure that the menace of the presence of lunatics and beggars was cut to the barest minimum within the state.
He attributed the menace to high use of illicit drugs and rigours of city life, adding that Port Harcourt, just like other big cities like Lagos, was an omnibus city where all kinds of people flock in to make a living.
The committee chairman explained that the terminus status of the city of Port Harcourt was responsible for the influx of lunatics and beggars, but noted that the ministry had evolved measures to curb it, disclosing that the raiding would be continuous rather than occasional.
“Our plan is working because most of the non-indigenous communities have started working with us such that when we want to repatriate some people they assist us”, Jamabo said.
[size=30pt]He further said that those arrested would first be rehabilitated at the Iriebe welfare centre after which non-indigenes are repatriated back to their states of origin.[/size]

Ajibel: The govt cannot provide jobs for everyone. I know of 6men- 3 Igbos, 2 Ijaws and 1 Yoruba folks that were arrested then later on after some hours were transferred to skill acquisition centres to train. 2 are thro' with their training and are nau self-employed as an upholsterer and furniture maker.
